2020 Sale-A-Bration

Detailed Bee Dies & the Golden Honey DSP

Today the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge is a sketch, #CCMC594.

CCMC594

Sometimes it takes me a long time to figure out what to make with the sketch but this card came together quickly.  I had some Stained Glass die cuts sitting on my desk along with a gold foil bee and the rest was pretty easy.

ASID-CCMC594

  1. Basic Black card stock 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".
  2. 3" x 5-3/8" piece of Golden Honey Specialty DSP (this is free with a qualifying order, part of Sale-A-Bration) .  Adhere it to the Basic Black card front
  3. Use the Stained Glass die and cut a frame from  Basic Black.
  4. Cut a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" Gold Foil square.  Carefully apply glue to the Basic Black Stained Glass frame and adhere to the Gold Foil square.
  5. Cut a 2" x 2" Whisper White square and adhere to the center of the frame.
  6. Use the large bee die and cut the bee from a 1-1/2" x 3" piece of Gold Foil.  Apply glue to the body and legs of the bee and attach it to the Whisper White square.  Use a Black Stampin' Write marker or stampin' Blend and color in the head and body.
  7. Attach the square to the card front.
  8. Use a Black Stampin' Write marker and ink "thinking of you" from the Very Versailles stamp set.
  9. Cut out sentiment using the die from the Stitched Rectangles.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals and attach to the card.
  10. Cut 3 Real Red hearts ( 2 small, 1 large) using the Stitched Be Mine dies.  Attach using Stampin' Dimensionals one heart to the bee and one the end of the sentiment.
  11.  Attach a 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card.  Attach a 1/2" x 4" piece of the Golden Honey DSP to the inside of the card.  Attach a heart to the strip.

Botanical Prints Medley Thank You

I needed to make some thank you cards which gave me a perfect reason to open up the Botanical Prints Product Medley.  This medley is featured on page 61 of the Jan-June 2020 Mini Catalog.  I love everything about this Medley, from the beautiful botanical images and coordinating dies, black & white DSP (with beautiful botanicals on the flip side), Old Olive ribbon, printed die cuts, the sweetest bee embellishments and more.

ASID-BotanicalPrintsjpeg

Here's a quick rundown of how I made this card.

  • Cut out 3 Whisper White stitched scalloped rectangles using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
  • Stamp the berry image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the rectangles.  Color the image using Old Olive and Pool Party Blends.
  • Cut a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Basic Black CS.  Score it at 4-1/4"
  • Attach a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of the Botanical Prints Medley DSP to the Basic Black card base.
  • Attach the stamped rectangles to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Do not attach dimensionals to the lower edge of the rectangles.
  • Wrap the Old Olive ribbon from the Medley around the bottom edge of the rectangles and tie a bow.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Memento ink and cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
  • Attach the sentiment using Dimensionals
  • Attach an Old Olive Rhinestone from the Noble Peacock assortment.
  • Cut a 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White piece and attach it to the inside of the card.
  • Cut a 1/2" x 5-1/4" strip of DSP and attach it to the inside of the card.

Honey Bee Bundle

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary challenge.  This week we have a color challenge.

CCMC593

The January-June 2020 Mini and the Sale-A-Bration catalogs are both going live tomorrow, January 3.  I thought it would be fun to use products from both catalogs.

ASID-HoneyBee-CCMC593

The fabulous bee and the sentiment are from the Honey Bee bundle.  I added some Petal Pink Vellum to the wings of the bee and colored in the spaces on the bee's body using Petal Pink, Purple Posy and Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends.

ASID-HoneyBee-CCMC593side

The beautiful floral  and stripes paper are from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The DSP is called Golden Honey Specialty DSP and it is gorgeous and very versatile.  I colored in the flowers and the stripe strip using Stampin' Blends to make it work for the color challenge.  It is a simple card made a little extra special by customizing the DSP.  To add a little more I applied rhinestones to the centers of all the flowers.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the Create with Connie & Mary design team made using these colors.

ICS Blog Hop...Lovely Lily Pad

ICS header

Happy New Year and welcome to the Inspire, Create, & Share (ICS) Blog Hop!  We are excited to share with you some sneak peeks from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration brochure.  Just a few more sleeps until the start of both the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration.  We love this time of year.  Starting January 3, when  you purchase $50 (US) in product you will be able to choose a free gift from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I mean seriously who doesn't love a free gift?!

I chose to focus on the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set.  This stamp set also has a coordinating die set, Lily Pad which is  free with a $100 purchase, and coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) called Lily Impressions which is free with a $50 purchase.

ASID-ICShopJan20

I made a bag using the All Dressed Up dies (January-June 2020 Mini catalog) and the Lily Impressions DSP.  The bag holds three 3" x 3" cards. Wouldn't this make a fun gift?

ASID-ICSJan20-bag

I used the circles in Stitched Shapes dies to create the handles for my bag.  I used #1 and #3 stitched circles (#1 being the smallest). I place the smaller circle inside the larger die and ran them through my die cutting machine. They fit perfectly on the front of the bag and is a fun alternative to the handles included in the All Dressed Up dies.

ASID-ICSJan20-cards

Here are the 3 cards I made to fit in the bag.  I also included envelopes which can be found here.  These little note cards are too small to mail.  They are great as gift tags or little notes to tuck in someone's lunch or leave on someone's desk.

ASID-ICSJan20-card1

The lily and lily pad were embossed in white on Shimmery White cs.  I like to use Shimmery White cs when I water color.  It doesn't absorb as quickly as regular Whisper White cs so you can move around the color.   I also attached some gems from the From My Heart Faceted Gems in the January-June 2020 Mini catalog.  The DSP is also from the Lily Impressions DSP.

ASID-ICSJan20-card2

I love the ombre effect on the design strips.  These strips were cut using the Lily Pad dies from the Lily Impressions DSP, the same design that the bag was cut from.  The flower was also created using the Lily Pad dies.

ASID-ICSJan20-card3

On this little note card I again watercolored and embossed the lily and leaves from the Lovely Lily Pad set.  Used the border die from the Lily Pad dies and the From the Heart Faceted Gems.

ASID-ICShopJan20

This was a very fun project to put together and offers a good look at the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set, Lily Pad dies, and the Lily Impressions DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Now it is time to head on over to see what Dana Sullivan has created for you!

Sneak Peek: SAB Happy Birthday to You

Less than a week to go until the start of  Sale-A-Bration 2020 and the debut of the January-June 2020 Mini catalog!  Today is another combo project, a little SAB and a little from the Mini.

ASID-SABHappyBirthday-blushing

These 2 stamp sets are SO pretty and I think they were meant for each other.  The Breathtaking Bouquet stamp makes a quick background that is beautiful all by itself and yet works perfectly as the backdrop for the cake.

ASID-SABHappyBirthday-blushingside

The cake was colored using the Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Mango Melody (dark), So Saffron (light), and Smoky Slate (light) Stampin' Blends.  I sure do enjoy using Stampin' Blends!   The hardest thing I did, which wasn't very hard at all, is I fussy cut the top flower but I won't deny having a die to do it would be even easier.  The effort is worth it since I love the look of the flower extending beyond the circle.

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek!

Sneak Peek:Happy Birthday to You Easel

Taking a little break from the All Dressed Up dies and back to another favorite from the 2020 Sale-A-Bration brochure, Happy Birthday to You.

ASID-SABHappyBirthday-easel

This cake image is a fun one to color. It isn't too detailed and there is enough space to do some shading.  I used the Purple Posy and Highland Heather blends to color in the flower with a Dark Daffodil Delight Blend for the centers.  The cake was colored using a Light So Saffron Blend and a Light Smoky Slate for the cake plate. The scalloped stitched rectangle was cut using one of the dies from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  The dies can be found on page 20 of the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog.  (Need a copy?  Contact me and I will send it out to you).

ASID-SABHappyBirthday-easelside

The Highland Heather Gingham (love!) is from the 6" x 6" Subtles Designer Series Paper.  The sweet little ribbon is actually from last years Sale-A-Bration.  It was the perfect little additions to the card.

ASID-SABHappyBirthday-easelopenjpeg

This is an easel card!  I stamped, cut and colored a little flower from the cake image to act as the stopper for the card panel.  The sentiments are from the Timeless Tulip stamp set.

There are so many wonderful products in the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure.  It is going to be a fabulous Sale-A-Bration!

Sneak Peek: Happy Birthday to You and the Breathtaking Bouquet

Ready for more sneak peeks?  At the Stampin' Up!®  OnStage event I was so lucky to be gifted the Breathtaking Bouquet stamp set in the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog.  This is a gorgeous background stamp full of beautiful details.  I wanted to make some samples for the person who gifted it to me and this is one of the first things I made with it.

ASID-BreathtakingBouquet-SoSaffron

I paired the Breathtaking Bouquet stamp with the Happy Birthday to You stamp set in the 2020 Sale-A-Bration catalog.   I love how these two stamp sets look so good together.

  • Breathtaking Bouquet stamped in So Saffron on a 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White
  • Sentiment and cake from the Happy Birthday to You stamp set in the 2020 Sale-A-Bration catalog
  • So Saffron, Petal Pink, Highland Heather, Old Olive, and Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends were used to color on the cake image

ASID-BreathtakingBouquet-SoSaffron2

I fussy cut the flower at the top of the cake.  I love how it looks popped up with a Stampin' Dimensional.  It really makes the image stand out.

I think these 2 stamp sets were made for each other!

Sneak Peek: Bonanza Buddies

Time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.   This week we have a fun sketch challenge, #CCMC592.

CCMC592

I wanted to play with the super adorable Bonanza Buddies bundle.  This set is SO cute!  We have lots of new little ones in our extended family and I know that this bundle of products will be a perfect one to use to create projects for them.  I also thought these cute little party animals would  be perfect for any kind of celebration.

ASID-CCMC592

What do you think?  Aren't they so fun and adorable? Don't you wish you were at the Bonanza Buddies New Year's Eve bash?  I bet it would be a koala-ty time!

I used products from both the Jan-June 2020 Mini Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) 2020 catalog.

  •     The tag, lion,  koala, hat, & banners were cut using the Bonanza dies
  •     The lion, koala, & hat were stamped using the Bonanza Buddies stamp set.
  •     The sentiment is from the New Year Celebrations stamp set
  •     The patterned paper is from the Birthday Bonanza DSP
  •     The cute pompoms are the Assorted Pompoms in the Birthday Bonanza suite.
  •     The So Saffron Metallic Baker's twine is a Sale-A-Bratiion product (Metallic Baker's Twine & Sequins Combo)
  •     The fun sequins are also from SAB and part of the Twine & Sequins Combo

ASID-CCMC592-side

I am excited about the stitched tag die in the Bonanza dies.  It is a great size 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" and will be handy for cards, gifts, layouts and home decor.  I have  some ideas running around in my brain on how I want to use them so stay tuned. I also love the little banners and so I decided to dress up the inside of the card too.

ASID-BonanzaBuddies-CCMC592injpeg

Sneak Peek: Timeless Tropical for #CCMC 591

Time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC591

I am still playing with new products that will become available in January.   It is safe to say I am loving the products in the new Mini catalog and in the 2020 Sale-A-Bration catalog.   For this challenge I decided to use the Timeless Tropical bundle.

ASID-CCMC591

I was born and raised in Hawaii so the Tropical Oasis Suite just spoke to me and  I knew it would be mine!  Now I know that palm trees do not have Night of Navy trunks but sometimes you just have to go with it and make it work.  I love the "aloha" die which is part of the In the Tropics dies.  I cut it out of the Pretty Peacock foil sheet found in the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets.

ASID-CCMC591side

Do you see the Mossy Meadow die cut designs?  They are from the Lily Pad Dies in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  They are gorgeous and love how they look on the card.  I accented them with the Night of Navy enamel dots found in the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots.

Thank you for stopping by.  Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created using this color combination.

Sneak Peek-Peaceful Moments Bundle & Golden Honey DSP

I could no longer resist and I had to take a break from my Christmas crafting to play with some new products.

ASID-PeacefulMoments-BWstripe

Let me introduce the Peaceful Moments bundle.  The Peaceful Moments stamp set is a 10 piece sentiment set which can be purchased as a bundle (save 10%) with the Poppy Moments dies.  I seriously swooned when I saw these dies.  There are 15 dies in this set and they make the most beautiful flowers and look at those leaves!  I love the option of making solid color leaves or two toned leaves. I used Grapefruit Grove and Calypso Coral for the flowers and Old Olive and Mossy Meadow for the leaves.

Are you wondering where that adorable stitched label is from?  It is a new set of dies called Stitched So Sweetly. I used the Happy Birthday from the Peaceful Moments set.  Don't you love how the sentiment uses 2 fonts?  Looks so fresh and modern.

ASID-PeacefulMoments-B&Wstripein

The inside sentiment is also from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  The full sentiment reads, "Wishing you every happiness this special day will bring".  I chose to omit the last part of the sentiment for this card.

ASID-PeacefulMoments-B&Wstripeside

Let's talk about that gorgeous Black & White stripe DSP!  You might have heard a shout of joy when I first saw it.  I love a striped  background and black and white is my fave.  This lovely is from a Sale-A-Bration free item called Golden Honey Specialty DSP.  What do I mean a Sale-A-Bration  free item?Starting  January 3, when you purchase $50 of Stampin' Up! product you will be able to choose a free gift, and this pack of paper is one of them!  The only problem is that the flip side of this black & white stripe is an adorable bee pattern with gold foil accents.  The torment of having to make a choice!

I am preparing to do a catalog mailing of the January-June Mini and the Sale-A-Bration catalogs.  If you have ordered with me in the past 6 months you will receive a catalog.  If you haven't ordered from me recently but would like the catalogs (and are not already working with a demonstrator) please email me or leave me a comment.

Remember tomorrow, December 11, 2019 Stampin' Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING on orders $50 (in merchandise) or more.  If you use the Host Code: 4GWASV6U and your order is $50 or more I will send you a gift of the  Noble Peacock Rhinestones.  This gift will arrive around the 2nd week of January.

Happy Shopping!
