What's New at SU!...Sale-A-Bration

What's new hop

Welcome to the What's New at SU! Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from around the world who are hoppin’ to share some  fun and exciting ideas. Today we will featuring products from Sale-A-Bration!

A little over a week ago the 2nd set of Sale-A-Bration products were released.  The release included 3 new stamp sets and 2 new Specialty DSP packs.  What I love about the new release is how some of the products coordinate with the original Sale-A-Bration release and/or the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog.

If you follow my blog or Facebook page you know that I fell hard for the Happy Birthday to You stamp set (Sale-A-Bration) and the Birthday dies (Coordination Product Release).   With the 2nd Sale-A-Bration Release there's another product that coordinates...Flowering Foils Specialty DSP!

Right about now you are wondering, "Huh?".  Hold on things will all become clear very soon.  The Flowering Foils Specialty DSP features rose gold and silver foil designs on a white background.  The white background is perfect to try out all kinds of coloring techniques.  Here I used a sponge brayer to create this ombre effect.  I started with the lightest color, Petal Pink, then Grapefruit Grove, and finally Calypso Coral.  I used the same brayer to do all 3 colors.  I rolled off the color on my grid paper before inking up the brayer.

The cake was silver embossed on Shimmery White paper and then colored using So Saffron Light, Petal Pink Combo, Calypso Coral Combo, and Old Olive Combo Blends.  The cake was then cut out using the Birthday Dies.  The pedestal was cut off from the stamped image and I added a Silver Foil cake plate using the Birthday Dies.  I stamped, embossed and color an extra flower to decorate the base of the cake.

Now do you see the coordination?  This flower was cut out from another of the designs in the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and looks like a grown up version of the flowers in the Happy Birthday to You stamp set.  This flower was cut out and colored using Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.  This particular flower was not a full flower which is why I hid the bottom underneath the strip of DSP.  These flowers are too pretty to waste.

I love the shiny foil cake stand ( and the coordinating die) The way you added the flower to the base of the cake stand really makes it stand out.
