Ornate Style Flowers

Just another quick share before the day is done.

ASID-OrnateStyle (1)

This is the large flower stamp in the Ornate Style stamp set.  It is embossed in white embossing powder on Watercolor paper.  I used an Aqua Painter and ink refills to color in this beautiful image.  The colors used: Flirty Flamingo, Real Red, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight.

Isn't it a gorgeous image?  I am looking forward to trying lots of different coloring techniques using this image.  Here's a look at the entire Ornate Garden Suite.

Forever Blossoms

It is still before midnight so the post a day streak continues!  I finally got in the craft room and actually made a card!  It has been a struggle for me lately.

ASID-ForeverBlossomred

I think the Forever Blossoms bundle is the set I have used the most from the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog.  On today's card I paired it with the Tasteful Backgrounds die and backed it with Sparkle Glimmer paper.  Love the sparkly window.  The flowers were colored using Real Red Light and Flirty Flamingo Combo Stampin' Blends.  Quick and easy coloring!  The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The bow is the Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon colored using the Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blend.

Sunday Summary

How are you?  Hope you are doing well!  Just got back from the grocery store.  We were running low on things and I decided I would do a big shop and hopefully not have to go to the store again for a few weeks.  I was pretty surprised how very few people were wearing masks or glove.  I know I looked a little wild with my homemade mask and gardening gloves!

I haven't been spending much time in my stamp room lately.  This is one of the reasons.

Masks

A couple of weeks ago I donated most of my fabric stash to neighbors that were making masks for medical personnel.  I can sew a bit but knew they would be much faster and better at it.  Now that there is a recommendation that we all wear masks I decided I needed to make some for my family.  Fortunately I found some fabric in another area of my craft room.  Does it look familiar to you?  Yes, quite a while ago Stampin' Up!® sold fabric.  I think they were fat quarters and are the perfect size to make masks.  Once again Stampin' Up!® and my craft stash to the rescue!

ASID-thankyoutags

I also made a bunch of tags to attach to goodies that were distributed to local hospitals, clinics in our area to thank medical personnel.  These were quick and easy to make using the tag die from the Bonanza dies, some retired DSP, red hearts, and sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set.

Need an idea for a quick card?  These are easy and cute too.  White card base or make it even quicker, use the Note Card and Envelopes (20 cards and 20 envelopes for $7 and yes, they are mailable), strip of DSP or use the Buffalo Check stamp, sentiment, and a rose from the To A Wild Rose set.  I added a few sequins and they are ready to be sent.  Easy peasy!

Thanks for checking in and I hope to get in the stamp room later today so I will have something to share with you!

Ornate Borders Dies

How are you?  Hope you are doing well.  Just a quick post to continue the streak!

ASID-SLCC1

This is one of the dies in the newly release Ornate Borders Die part of the Ornate Garden Suite.  The suite will be part of 2020 Stampin' Up!® Annual catalog.  It is a beautiful suite and it is one of the times I hit the buy it all button.

On this sample I cut the border die 3 times, once each in Whisper White, Call Me Clover, and Grapefruit Grove.  I attached the Whisper White to the Petal Pink card base and then inlaid the pieces into the Whisper White border.  It is a little fussy but I like the way it looks and enjoy puzzles.  Wrapped some White Baker's twine around the card and heat embossed the sentiment from the Seriously the Best stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Good Morning Magnolia

How are you?  Hope you are doing well.  It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a sketch challenge.

CCMC606

It has been a while since I played with the Good Morning Magnolia set, dies and DSP.  One of the nice things about using things you haven't in a while, it is almost like they are new to me again!

ASID-CCMC606

The flowers were die cut from the Magnolia Lane DSP. One of the flowers was just a partial but I was able to cover it with the other flowers, hate to waste any of them.  Love the sentiment, it is a good reminder for all of us.

ASID-CCMC606-side

Inside I added a strip of the DSP and fussy cut a flower from another sheet of DSP.  I love how it looks.

Thanks for stopping by and please check out the Create with Connie & Mary blog and see what the other design team members created with the sketch.

ICS Blog Hop...Petal Pink

ICS header

Welcome to the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop!  This month we are hopping and sharing projects with the theme of It's a Girl Thing, Monochromatic style.

ASID-ICSApriljpeg

I have to tell you that it has been a struggle!  I had the hardest time figuring out what I wanted to make.  This is probably the 3rd or 4th thing I have made and well time is getting short so I am sticking with this one.

I am a fan of Petal Pink.  We haven't always gotten along but it has definitely grown on me and I use it a lot.   This is an easy and fun way to package a treat.

  • 5-3/4" x 9-3/4" piece of Petal Pink CS scored at 2-3/4" x 7"
  • Seal up the back creating a flat open ended packet
  • Use the Ornate Floral 3-D Embossing Folder and emboss a 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Petal Pink Vellum (Perennial Essence Vellum)
  • Create Petal Pink Vellum flowers using the Magnolia Memory dies and the Perennial Flower punch.  Layer the two smaller 3 petal dies, then the Perennial Flower punch, and then the center in Petal Pink CS.  The circle in the middle of the flower is Petal Pink CS heat embossed with a mix of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and Clear Embossing Powder.
  • Attach the flowers to the embossed piece of Petal Pink Vellum using Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Use glue dots or dots of liquid glue and apply to the back of the vellum where the flowers are.  This will prevent adhesive from showing through when you attach it to the packet.  Now adhere it to the front of the Petal Pink packet.
  • Punch a hole in the center near the top of the packet (punching through the front and the back).  Insert one end of the Petal Pink ribbon through both holes. Place the brownie mix in the packet between the ribbon.  Push the brownie mix down into the packet until it is hidden.  Tie a bow at the top and cut the ribbon
  • Stamp in VersaMark ink the sentiment on Petal Pink CS and sprinkle White Embossing powder.  Emboss using the Heat Tool.  Cut out using the die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  Attach it to the front using a Stampin' Dimensional.

This would make a great little favor or gift for a friend or co-worker.  Think of all the different kind of treats you could package like this!  Now it is time to check out what the talented Deb Naylor has made for you.
