Cute Fruit Daisies

Have you see the Make Beautiful Things brochure?  It is a small brochure that offers a sampling of stamps, kits, and accessories.  Some of the products are also shown in the Annual Catalog but there are a few items that are only featured in the this brochure.  One of those products is a fun stamp set called Cute Fruit.

153301Cute Fruit

This set just makes me smile so I knew I had to have it.   I just think the little faces are so cute and knew they would be so cute in the middle of daisies.

ASID-CuteFruitDaisy

I used the Medium Daisy punch and punched out 6 daisies, 2 for each flower.  I stamped the faces on Crushed Curry CS and punched them out with a 1/2" circle punch (sadly this is a retired punch).   I stamped and punched the jar from the Jar of Flowers bundle and added some foliage cut from Coastal Cabana CS using the Forever Flourishing dies and lightly sponged the edges with Night of Navy ink.

ASID-CuteFruitDaisy-side

I used the Playing with Patterns 6" x 6" DSP.  This pack of paper is so cute!  It is filled with stripes, polka dots, watercolor looks all in the happy color combination of Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, Purple Posy, and White.   Based on the picture in the catalog I was a little leery but I loved the colors so I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did!

I used the Playful Alphabet Dies and the Foam Adhesive Sheets to cut out the Coastal Cabana letters.  To do this I cut small piece of the Foam Adhesive and a corresponding piece of Coastal Cabana CS.  I took off one of the protective coverings from the Foam Adhesive Sheet and adhered the Coastal Cabana CS.  I used the dies and ran it through the die cut machine.  The Foam Adhesive cuts beautifully.  All you have to do is remove the protective covering and stick it on the card.  Honestly, what I did at first was cut out the letters and was about to start cutting out little pieces of Stampin' DImensionals to attach it to the card when I remembered the Foam Adhesive Sheets!  I knew it would be so much easier to start all over again using the Foam Adhesive Sheets.  I highly recommend getting a pack or 2 of the Foam Adhesive sheets!

Blossoms in Bloom Birthday

It is Friday and time for another fun Festive Friday Challenge!  This time the Inspo List is inspired by  National Simplicity Day!  What does this mean to you?  Check out the Inspo List and choose 3 things to use on your project and post it in the Festive Friday blog gallery!  Here's the Inspo List.

FF62

Lots of fun things on this list!  I chose Stitching, Birthday theme and Floral theme.  Surprised?  Me too!  I was all set to do the B & W with a pop of color cause that is usually my jam but wait I guess I kind of did do that.  I will let you be the judge.

ASID-FF62

It is hard to see but the Basic Black layer does have a stitched edge and so does the sentiment.  You can see the floral and birthday theme but where is the white?

ASID-FF62-side

There it is!  Okay, this might be pushing what is really meant by b&w and a pop of color.  Magenta Madness definitely is a happy pop of color and it is still my favorite new In Color but to be fair I haven't used the other colors as much.

Guess what?! I have a tutorial for you with all the measurements and supplies.  CLICK HERE!

Thanks for stopping by and I  hope you play along with the Festive Friday Challenge #FF62.  I love seeing what your creations in the gallery!

Forever Greenery

I have a confession to make.  It is pretty hard to believe but when I made today's card it was the first time I opened the package of Forever Greenery DSP.  I know pretty shocking!  It is a gorgeous pack of paper and perfect for this week's sketch Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.

CCMC618

Fullsizeoutput_53d0

I used 2 different designs from the Forever Greenery pack.  The DSP definitely does all the work for me on this card.  The only stamping on the front of the card is the Grateful.  This sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks stamp set.  The full sentiment says So Grateful but I omitted the So.  I inked up the sentiment in Versamark, covered it with White Embossing powder, and heat embossed it using the Heat Tool.  There is still something magical about heat embossing.  I love how crisp the white embossing powder looks on Pretty Peacock cardstock.  I also added a couple of gold Metallic Pearls to the label.

Fullsizeoutput_53d3

Inside I stamped a couple of images from the Forever Fern set and also added a strip of the Forever Greenery DSP.  I cut out the Forever Fern images using the Forever Flourishing dies.  Do you decorate the inside of your cards?  I always try to, I want the inside to look as good as the outside of the card.

Now that I have opened the Forever Greenery DSP and stamped a few images from the Forever Fern, I will definitely be playing with this fun and beautiful Forever Greenery Suite of products.

Prized Peony

I have been asked what stamp set/bundle is my favorite and I can say for today it is definitely Prized Peony!   Hahaha, you didn't think I was actually going to commit.

ASID-PrizedPeony

This detailed peony image is so fun to color and it is a great size.  I used the Petal Pink and Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color the image.  The image has a lot of shading on it which makes it easy to color.  I also used 3 Elegant Faceted Gems in Petal Pink to add just a little bit more to the card.  These pretty and new gems come in 3 colors, Clear, Petal Pink, and Pearlescent White.   They are not bright and sparkly more subdued and elegant.

ASID-PrizedPeony-side

Do you see the small peony peeking out from the inside of the card? I stamped, colored and die cut it, to pretty up the inside of the card too!

Field of Flowers

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  This week we have a bright and happy color combination that spoke to me of summer.

CCMC617

The Field of Flowers bundle ( stamp set and Confetti Flowers Border Punch) in these colors remind me of a summer day.

ASID-FieldofFlowers-CCMC617

I used the Confetti Flower Border punch for the smaller flowers and fussy cut the larger flowers.  I popped up all the flowers using Stampin' Dimensionals.  In the Field of Flowers stamp set there is a dragonfly.   I chose to use the dragonfly from the Friend Like You stamp set so instead of more fussy cutting  I could use the dragonfly die in the Friendly Silhouettes to cut it out.

ASID-FieldofFlowers-CCMC617side

The card base is Thick Whisper White cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4".  The Melon Mambo cardstock measures 3-5/8" x  4-7/8" and the stamped Whisper White panel is 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  I wrapped Linen Thread around the bottom edge of the stamped panel and tied a bow.

ASID-FieldofFlowers-CCMC617side2

You can see a border of grass and flowers along the bottom edge of the inside of the card.  I like to decorate the inside of the card as well as the outside.

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop...the Man, the Myth, the Legend

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop!  This month our theme is The Man, The Myth, The Legend!  When I saw this theme I knew exactly what products I wanted to use for the hop.

ASID-SDBHJune20

I was looking forward to using both the Beautiful World bundle and the Best Plaid Builder dies for my card. I also used the World of Good Specialty DSP which helped me chose the colors to use. On this card I used Cinnamon Cider as my card base and the plaid in Early Espresso and World of Good DSP.  I knew I wanted to use the new Brass Foil for the globe stand but I was a little stumped on what to use for the globe.

ASID-SDBHJnue20-close

I was looking through my cardstock, DSP and found the Rainbow Glimmer Paper and knew I found the perfect paper.  I used the section that is transitioning from Granny Apple Green to Bermuda Bay.  It is very glittery and it adds just the right amount of sparkle to the card.  After all the world is a sparkly place.

ASID-SDBHJune20-sidejpeg

I used one of the Stitched Rectangles for the label and created a couple of faux brads by punching out a couple of circles out of the Brass Foil.

Since I had everything out I decided to create one more card using the same products.

ASID-SDBHJune20-card2jpeg

This is basically the same card front except I used Early Espresso for the card base, Cinnamon Cider and World of Good Specialty DSP for the plaid.

ASID-SDBHJune20-card2open

When the card opens, there is a simple easel. Used a Stitched Rectangle die for the stopper and again a couple of faux  brads.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my projects. Here is a list of all the stops on the Hop!  Enjoy!

Arrange A Wreath

You know I love wreaths on my cards.  I think they are so fun to dress up and they are great for different occasions & holidays.  When I saw the new Arrange a Wreath bundle my first thought was, I want that but it can wait.  Well, I looked at it again and realized it couldn't wait and just like that it was in my first order.  I am so happy since it was the perfect bundle for me to use for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0061.

FF0061

I no longer have any citrus fruit stamps so i focused on using orange, yellow, and green from the Inspo list on my card for the challenge.

ASID-ArrangeaWreath-FF61

I made the wreath using both of the wreath dies, one in Shaded Spruce and the other in the new In Color, Just Jade.  The flowers are in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.  In the die set there are 2 dies for the larger flower and 3 for the smaller flower, yay!  Having the extra dies makes it so much faster to make the flowers.  The centers of the flowers are from the Elegant Faceted Gems.

ASID-ArrangeaWreath-FF61close

I added the heart also from the Arrange A Wreath bundle to the center of the wreath, adding another item from the Inspo List,  sweet sentiment.  I cut out 2 hearts one in Pumpkin Pie and one in Daffodil Delight.  On the Pumpkin Pie heart I added a piece of Foam Adhesive on the back behind the letters,  you could also use dimensionals.  I then layered the letters from the Daffodil Delight heart on to the exposed adhesive.

ASID-ArrangeaWreath-FF61side

The background is one of the Many Medallions die.  Before I die cut I put a piece of Adhesive Sheet on the back of the Whisper White cardstock.  This is a double-sided adhesive and is very handy to use to adhere intricate die cuts.

** Click HERE for a tutorial.

Want to play along with the challenge?  All you have to do is pick 3 items from the Inspo List to use on your project.  Post your project on the Festive Friday blog by Monday June 22 8 pm CST.  I look forward to seeing what your creation in the gallery!

Prized Peony

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  So excited to show you the sketch for the challenge and the card I made.

CCMC616

I saw the sketch and knew it would be perfect to use  the Prized Peony bundle.  After playing around with a couple of ideas I ended up not using the  Prized Peony stamp set just the Peony dies.

ASID-PrizedPeony.CCMC616jpeg

The fabulous Peony dies not only cut out the stamped Peony images in the Prized Peony stamp set but also to create this paper peony.  At first the dies look a little intimidating but once you put together your first peony you will see how easy and really ingenious the dies are.  Here's a picture of the dies you will use.

ASID-PrizedPeony-CCMC616tute-

All you need to do is insert the dies in the order as shown above in the previous petals opening.   You match up the bottom shape of each petal and glue  them or use a glue dot to secure them.

ASID-PrizedPeon-CCMC616close

I used Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride cardstock and sponged along the edges with Flirty Flamingo ink.  The leaves were made using Old Olive amd Mossy Meadow cardstock.  The peony is resting on a circle that was embossed using the Dainty Diamonds 3D folder.  It is a beautiful embossing folder.

ASID-PrizedPeony-CCMC616side

The sweet sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks stamp set.  Isn't it a beautiful font?  It just coordinates so well with the whole look of the card.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Peony Garden DSP pack.

Thank you for stopping by!  If there is anything I can help you with please let me know.  I have linked all the products I used and a link to my online store below.

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop...Prized Peony

AWOW hop header

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop,  #aWOWbloghop.  We have 24  stops on this  hop representing 13 different time zones (Midnight in Hawaii through 10 PM in New Zealand) in all of Stampin' Up's markets!  Thank you so much for joining us as we hop Around the World on Wednesday!

This month we are focusing on inspiration from the new 2020-21 Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalog.  So many possibilities!  One of my very favorite things is the Peony Garden Suite, especially the Prized Peony bundle.  I really like that there are realistic stamp images and dies to cut them out and also dies that create a paper pieced peony.  Today's project focuses on the realistic stamp images.

 ASID-PrizedPeony-AWOWJune

On my project I used 2 of the 3 peony images in the Prized Peony stamp set.  The peonies were colored using Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.  The leaves were colored using Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

I love a black, white, and red color scheme.  When I saw the Best Plaid Builder dies I knew that it would be so fun to create black & white plaids with a floral pop of color.  I created the plaid using Basic Black and Vellum cardstock on a Whisper White card base.  It can be tricky attaching vellum to a card.  I used small dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on all the end pieces and intersections of the Vellum and it is secure and not vey noticeable.

ASID-Prizedpeony-AWOWJuneside

The sentiment is from the Celebrate Sunflowers set and is stamped on a oval from the Stitched Shapes dies.  I wanted to add something with a little sparkle and think the red rhinestone is perfect. I played around with other embellishments but finally settled on the single rhinestone.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  Now it is time to  hop on over to see what the talented  Teri West has created.

Celebrate Sunflowers

If you have followed my blog for any length of time you know there are certain layouts I use a lot.  One of them is three things lined up in a row.  You can find samples HERE,  HERE,  HERE,  HERE and well you get the idea.  So here is that layout using the new Celebrate Sunflowers bundle.

Fullsizeoutput_44bf

The sunflowers were colored using So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.  The sunflowers and sentiment were stamped in Early Espresso ink.

ASID-CelebrateSunflowers-6_9side

The only extra adornment is a Bumblebee enamel dot from the 2020-22 In Color Enamel dots.  I like how clean and simple this card looks but then I started to think maybe it is too plain.

ASID-CelebrateSunflowers-ribbon

I added some 1/4" Faux Suede Trim in Early Espresso.  What do you think is it better?  Is it the right embellishment?

ASID-CelebrateSunflowers-ribbonside

I still cannot decide which version I like best.

Let me know what you think, with or without ribbon?
