Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop...Something New, Something Old
December 09, 2020
Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop! We have a total of 21 stops on the hop! We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators here to share some ideas and inspiration. Our theme this month is Something New, Something Old. So hop along with us and share in the fun
Our leader, Angie McKenzie does a fantastic job of leading this blog hop and comes up with fun and thought provoking themes. For my project I decided to focus on one of my favorite new suites in the upcoming 2021 January-June Mini Catalog for my Something New and a product that I miss, for my Something Old.
This beautiful stamped image and Designer Series Paper is from the Fine Art Floral Suite. The stamp set is called Art Gallery and it can be bundled with a set of dies called Floral Gallery dies. Remember when you bundle you save 10%. This whole suite is gorgeous. Can you guess what my something old is? It is Dazzling Diamonds Glitter! I realize that glitter is not very environmentally friendly and can be very messy, once in awhile I miss the sparkle of Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
One of my favorite techniques is to cover an entire image with Versamark ink and then heat emboss it with a mix of Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Clear embossing powder. It is a little difficult to capture how sparkly it. I wish i could because it is so pretty. The flower was stamped using Flirty Flamingo ink for the flower and Old Olive for the stem. The Art Gallery stamp set does not have a stamp for the inside of the flower. I did a little search and found that the Beautiful Friendship set has 2 images that would work for the center. On my card I used the smaller of the 2.
One last attempt to capture the glittery images. The ribbon I used is 3/8" Denim and the sentiment is from the Zoo Globe set.
The Fine Art Floral DSP is very special. Doesn't it look like there is a lot of texture? The artists did a great job creating this DSP, it looks like oil paintings. The DSP has a highly patterned side and the flip side is a little more neutral.
The only thing stamped on this card is the sentiment which is a part of the Art Gallery stamp set. The card base is Pretty Peacock. It is not listed as one of the colors in the DSP but I think it blends so well.
I hope you can see the Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Clear Embossing powder effect.
It was very fun to give you a sneak peek of this beautiful bundle and for me to play with Dazzling Diamonds glitter again. Now it is time for you to go and see what the talented Teri West has created for you!
