2021 January-June Mini Catalog

Sweet Strawberry Treat Box

Sweet Strawberry Sunday!  Have you seen the Love You Always Treat Boxes?  They are on page 11 of the 2021 Jan-June Mini Catalog.  They are a matchbox style box and what I love about them is that they do not require any adhesive to put the box together.  The boxes are easy to assemble so you can focus your energy on the other important things like decorating them and what to put in them.

SweetStrawberry-LoveYouAlwaysTreatBox

I used the True Love Designer Series Paper and cut a piece 4" x 9-1/2" to wrap around the box sleeve.  I cut a large circle using the Layering Circles die and used that as my base to attach my strawberries, leaves and flowers to.  The sentiment which is also from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set was stamped on an oval cut from the Layering Ovals dies.

SweetStrawberry-LoeYouAlwaysTreatbox-open

Inside I put some yummy strawberry candies.   This box is a good size and a great one to have in your stash.  It is easy and fun to decorate.

Happy Hedgehog Luv U

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you feel loved and appreciated today and everyday!

Stampin'Up!HappyHedgehogs-Valentine

Used the Happy Hedgehog bundle  and the Sweet Talk DSP for this card.  The hedgehog was colored using Stampin'  Blends (Crumb Cake and Flirty Flamingo) and punched out using the Hedgehog Builder punch.  The chubby little bird, also from the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set was also colored with Stampin' Blends (Pool Party, So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green) and fussy cut out.  The heart between the two was cut from the Sweet Talk DSP using one of the heart dies from the Give It A Whirl dies.

Stampin'Up!HappyHegehogs-Valentine-open

To finish off this quick card I added another hedgehog and a strip of the Sweet Talk DSP.   This hedgehog is smaller and was also fussy cut out.  It is not too detailed so it is easy to cut.  The ribbon I used is the Real Red Faux Linen.  I tied the bow and just added it to the card using a glue dot.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a wonderful day!

Snailed It!

It is time for the Festive Friday Challenge!  The festivity we are featuring is World Laughter Day and we could all use a lot more laughter!  We have an Inspo List that was inspired by the festivity and to play along with the challenge you need to use 3 of the items from the list on your project.   We would love for you to play along with the challenge!  There are a few more rules that you can see HERE..  We hope to see your project in the Festive Friday blog gallery.

Here is the Inspo List.

FF82

I turned to the Snailed It stamp set.  These cute little gastropods always make me smile.

SnailedIt-FF82

From the Inspo list I used yellow, red, rainbows and sequins.  The snail was colored using Stampin' Blends.  They are probably my go to coloring tool.  I added a few sequins to presents and of course some goggly eyes.

SnailedIt-FF82-side

Inside I stamped the sentiment You Snailed It and I could have also ticked off the pun element on the Inspo List.  FF #0082

Corner Bouquet

It is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week we have #CCMC652, which is a color challenge.

CCMC652

CornerBouquet-CCMC

For this color challenge I embossed some strips of Just Jade and Highland Heather CS using the Tasteful Textile 3D folder and attached them to a Basic White panel.  I brought in Seaside Spray as the card base and the layer behind the image.  The  Corner Bouquet stamp was stamped using Versamark and white embossing powder. I really like the way the Corner Bouquet stamp set looks embossed in white, especially on vellum.  I don't know why I didn't pair these products together earlier.  A few flowers in Seaside Spray and Highland Heather were punched using the Confetti Flowers Border punch and attached to the vellum.  I purchased the Confetti Flowers Border punch kind of on a whim and I am glad I did.  I use this punch a lot and love that it punches out 3 sizes of flowers.

Tip: Use the point of the bone folder in the center of the flowers to create a little dimension and definition.

CornerBouquet-CCMC-side

I also like the way the Butterfly Gala butterfly looks embossed in white on vellum, so I added a couple.  These butterflies also help to hide the Mini Glue Dots I used to attach the vellum to the Seaside Spray layer.   The other glue dots are hidden by the Corner Bouquet image.  This is the best strategy I have for attaching vellum without the adhesive showing.

I added the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon and the silver pearls (from the Metallic pearls) to the center of the flowers for a little extra shine.  I tried coloring some rhinestones using the Just Jade Stampin' Blends to use as the flower centers but decided the silver pearls looked better especially with the ribbon.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and remember Sale-A-Bration ends on Sunday, February 28th!

Pretty Perennials bundle and the Oh So Ombre DSP

It is unusual that we have 3 packs of Designer Series Paper in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I have shared samples using the Flower & Field DSP here, here, here,  and here.  I have cards using the Paper Blooms DSP here and  here.  Today I am sharing a sample using the Oh So Ombre DSP.

PrettyPerennials-OhSoOmbre

The Oh So Ombre DSP colors are Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, and Rococo Rose.   I cut a Basic White frame using the Stitched So Sweetly and the Stitched Rectangles dies.  Inside of the frame I inserted the circle pattern Granny Apple Green that is also part of Oh So Ombre DSP.  The Pretty Perennial flowers were stamped in Magenta Madness and die cut using the Perennial Petal dies.

PrettyPerennials-OhSoOmbre-side

I really like the Matte Black dots and used them for the centers of the flowers.  Love this color combination.  It is a bright, happy card and pretty quick and easy to make.

In Bloom Bundle

The first Festive Friday Challenge of 2021 and it is a sweet one.

FF75

Who knew there was an Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day?!  I have eaten lots of different things for breakfast but so far I don't think I have ever had ice cream,  maybe I need to try it.  Hmmm, it is dairy and if I put a cherry on top that is fruit, right?

How do you play along with the Festive Friday Challenge?  It really is easy.  Check out the Inspo list which was inspired by the festivity, Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. Pick 3 of the items on the Inspo list and create a project using those items.  Post your creation to the Festive Friday gallery and you are entered.  There are some rules to the challenge and you can see them here.

InBloomBundle-FF75

I chose from the Inspo list to use Pink, Brown and Dry Embossing.  Yes, it is totally okay not to use an  ice cream image on your project.

I love the look of stripes and florals. I cut some 1/2" strips of Early Espresso CS to make my own striped paper.  The flowers were cut from Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride CS using the Pierced Blooms dies.  These dies are one of my favorites from the 2021 January-June Mini Catalog.  I love the look of the piercing on the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment is from the In Bloom stamp set.  You can buy the stamp set and the Pierced Blooms stamp set separately or together aka a bundle.   When you bundle you also receive a 10% discount.

InBloomBundle-FF75side

I used a new embossing folder called Painted Texture 3D Embossing folder.  Doesn't it look so realistic?  This folder will be used a lot in my crafting.  It adds texture and interest without taking over the other elements.  Check out the centers of the flowers.  They are the new Opal Rounds.   They have an opalescent shine and gleam .

Wild Roses

The Create with Connie and Mary Challenge took last  week off and we are now back with a new challenge.

WildRoses-HighlandHeather-CCMC

This week it is a fun color challenge.

Ccmc644

I thought it was the perfect time to play with the beautiful Wild Roses background stamp and the new Blending Brushes, both in the new 2021 Jan-June Mini Catalog.

WildRoses-HighlandHeather-CCMCside

The Wild Roses background stamp is a big background stamp.  Background stamps are offered in both Cling Mount and Wood Mount.  If you decide to get it in Cling Mount you can use clear Block F or it is a great one to use with the Stamparatus.

I inked the stamp in Night of Navy ink.  I used the Blending brushes to apply the Balmy Blue and Highland Heather ink. Blending using the Blending brushes is very smooth and softer than blending using sponges.  The look is different and  I like them both.  If you are going for a lighter, softer look than you will love the Blending Brushes.

Night of Navy CS card base 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2"

Highland Heather CS 4" x 5-1/4"

Whisper White CS 3-3/4" x  5-1/8" cut into three 1-1/4" x 5-1/8" panels

Posted for You stamp set, Denim Ribbon, Stitched Shapes dies & Stitched Rectangle dies

WildRoses-CCMC

This is a simpler version of the card.  The Wild Roses is not cut into panels

Night of Navy CS-4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2"

Balmy Blue CS 4"  x 5-1/4"

Whisper White 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"

Posted for You stamp set, Denim Ribbon, Stitched Shapes dies, Stitched Rectangle dies.

Sneak Peek: Art Gallery Bundle

I hope I haven't shared this with you before.  I did a quick search and didn't see it but it feels familiar.  This card features the beautiful Art Gallery bundle that is in the 2021 January-June Mini catalog.

ArtGallery-black&white

A simple card in some of my favorite colors.  The flower is stamped in Real Red ink.  The outline image was stamped full strength and the fuller image was stamped off once.  The stem is stamped in Old Olive ink and both were cut out using the Floral Gallery dies.  I added a few dots to the center of the flower using a Basic Black Stampin' Blend.

ArtGallery-Black&White-side

All the Whisper White CS was embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder.  This folder has become my go to for a subtle textured background.  The sentiment is from the Art Gallery set and  is heat embossed in white embossing powder.  The fun shaped label is from the Floral Gallery dies.   The two strips of black cardstock were from my scrap bag.  I use a lot of Basic Black cardstock so I have a lot of scraps. I really like the thick and thin strips.

I have just a few more things to do this morning  before I can stay  home and be cozy.  Thanks for stopping by!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop...Something New, Something Old

AWOW hop header

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop!  We have a total of 21 stops on the hop!  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators  here to share some ideas and inspiration.   Our theme this month is Something New, Something Old.    So hop along with us and share in the fun

Our leader, Angie McKenzie does a fantastic job of leading this blog hop and comes up with fun and thought provoking themes.  For my project I decided to focus on one of my favorite new suites in the upcoming 2021 January-June Mini Catalog for my Something New and a product that I miss, for my Something Old.

ArtGallery-AWOW

This beautiful stamped image and Designer Series Paper is from the Fine Art Floral Suite.  The stamp set is called Art Gallery and it can be bundled with a set of dies called Floral Gallery dies.  Remember when you bundle you save 10%.  This whole suite is gorgeous.   Can you guess what my something old is?  It is Dazzling Diamonds Glitter!  I realize that glitter is not very environmentally friendly and can be very messy, once in  awhile I miss the sparkle of Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

ArtGallery-AWOW-side

One of my favorite techniques is to cover an entire image with Versamark ink and then heat emboss it with a mix of Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Clear embossing powder.  It is a little difficult to capture how sparkly it.  I wish i could because it is so pretty.  The flower was stamped using Flirty Flamingo ink for the flower and Old Olive for the stem.  The Art Gallery stamp set does not have a stamp for the inside of the flower.  I did a little search and found that the Beautiful Friendship set has 2 images that would work for the center.  On  my card I used the smaller of the 2.

ArtGallery-AWOW-glitter

One last attempt to capture the glittery images.  The ribbon I used is 3/8" Denim and the sentiment is from the Zoo Globe set.

FineArtFloralDSP-AWOW

The Fine Art Floral DSP is very special.  Doesn't it look like there is a lot of texture?  The artists did a great job creating this DSP, it looks like oil paintings.  The DSP has a highly patterned side and the flip side is a little more neutral.

FIneArtFloralDSP-AWOW-side

The only thing stamped on this card is the sentiment which is a part of the Art Gallery stamp set.  The card base is Pretty Peacock.  It is not listed as one of the colors in the DSP but I think it blends so well.

FineArtFloralDSP-AWOW-glitter

I hope you can see the Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Clear Embossing powder effect.

It was very fun to give you a sneak peek of this beautiful bundle and for me to play with Dazzling Diamonds glitter again.  Now it is time for you to go and see what the talented Teri West has created for you!
