2021 July-Dec mini

Happy 2022!

Just a few more days till we welcome in 2022.   I am ready for it and wanted to wish you a Happy New Year too!

Stampin'Up!WordsofChristmas-CCMC696

I made this card using the colors in the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC696.

CCMC696

Unfortunately since I made this card a few of the products have sold out.

  • The Black Glitter Paper used as a layer, for the stars and for the numbers.
  • The silver and white paper background from the Whimsy & Wonder DSP.

The happy is from the Words of Cheer bundle and is still available.  I am a fan of word dies so this die set will be staying in my collection.

Stampin' Up!WordsofChristmas-CCMC696-side

I used the Give it a Whirl dies to cut out the stars.  The die cuts out 3 sizes of stitched stars.  Whenever I am looking for shapes I check to see if is by chance is in the Give it a Whirl dies.  That die set in addition to making a super fun interactive card also contains so many great shapes like stars, hearts, rectangles, clouds, circles, & arrows.

Stampin'Up!WordsofChristmas-CCMC696-open

Inside I added a leftover strip of stripes and a few more stars.  It is fun to dress up the insides of your cards too.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie & Mary design team created for this challenge.

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop...My Favorite Month

AWOW hop header

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!  We are an international group who have joined together for this blog hop.  Every month we hop on the 2nd Wednesday of the month .  We have a theme and it is always fun to see all the different projects.  This month our theme is My Favorite Month.

What is your favorite month?  This was surprisingly hard for me to answer.  Every month has its charms and also its pitfalls.  I could make a case for any month being my favorite but I couldn't think of a way to represent that on a card so I decided I would just pick a month.

DeliveringCheer-Sweets&Treats

Can you guess the month from my card?  Yes, that's easy...December!  December has an edge over the other months since well, Christmas!  December is also my husband's birth month and my son's so there is no shortage of things to celebrate.

I used the Delivering Cheer stamp set and wanted her to hold a big birthday cake but was unable to find one that would work so I went with the cake from the Sweets & Treats stamp set.  I actually think it is a figgy pudding.  I have never had figgy pudding so I am not sure but it looks like the pictures I have seen.

I stamped the women's legs and skirt and did some paper piecing for the skirt.  The black and  white check is from the Pattern Party DSP (Host Reward choice).  I stamped and colored the figgy pudding using Stampin' Blends.  I placed the figgy pudding on the plate which is actually the cake stand cut down in size.   I stamped a cut out her arms (sounds terrible!) and placed them around the pudding and the plate and adhered it to the skirt.

DeliveringCheer-Sweets&Treats-side

I added a few Wonderful Snowflakes to the corners and adhered it to another design from the Pattern Party DSP.  The sentiment is from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set.

Now it is time for you to see what month is Teri West's favorite.

ICS Blog Hop...Christmas is Coming!

ICS header

Welcome to the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop.  This blog hop goes live on the second Tuesday of the month.  Every month there is a theme for the hop  and this month the theme is, Christmas Is Coming.   Enjoy the hop and I hope it will inspire you!

WordsofCheer-splitcard

I love the Words of Cheer bundle.  It has  great sentiments,  a big focal image, and lovely dies including 2 word dies. The beautiful foliage arrangement is a great one to color.  I used Stampin' Blends in Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Pool Party, and Daffodil Delight.  The image was cut out using the dies and is on one of the Scalloped Contour dies.  Two designs from the  Heartwarming Hugs DSP were used for the front of the card.  The Heartwarming Hugs DSP is a returning favorite and is rich with  patterns that mix and match.

WordsofCheer-splitcard-open

This card style is one of my current favorites.  You start with a 8-1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock and score it in quarters (4-1/4 along the 8-1/2" side and 5-1/2" along the 11" side) and then cut it on the diagonal.  You get 2 card bases.  The 2 patterns of DSP are cut at 4" x 5-1/4" and then cut on the diagonal.

Here is the 2nd card I made using the other half of the cardstock and the DSP.

WordsofCheer-splitcard2

Yes, it looks very similar except I positioned the foliage at the bottom corner instead of the top corner.

WordsofCheer-splitcard2-open

I also glued the bottom edge of the right triangle to create a pocket.  This is a great place for a gift card or to insert a photo.

Sparkle of the Season Tag

Still playing with the Sparkle of the Season bundle.  On today's project I used 2 of the 3 wreath dies from the Seasonal Swirls dies.

SparkleoftheSeason-FF96

This project was made for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0096.  The Festive Friday Challenge is the challenge with the Inspo List.  The challenge is to use 3 items from the Inspo List on your project.  The Inspo List is inspired by a festivity.  This challenge the festivity we are being inspired by is World Kindness Day.  I would like to believe that everyday is World Kindness Day.  Your project doesn't have to focus on the festivity but it can.

FF96

SparkleoftheSeasonwreath-FF96

I used 2 different wreath dies on this gift tag.  One to create the background and another for the actual wreath.  The Real Red flowers were cut using the Christmas Cheer Dies  and attached to the Old Olive and Mossy Meadow wreaths.  The sentiment is from the Classic Cloche stamp set and heat embossed in Silver embossing powder.  Can you guess what die I used to cut out the sentiment?  It looks like one of  the stitched rectangle dies but it isn't.  It is the handle die from the All Dressed Up dies.

151665

The handle die is 6" long.  It is easy to custom cut out the sentiment.  Stamp the sentiment, cut it with the die and then line it back up with the die and cut it to the correct size.

Cute Halloween Trick or Treat Bag

Halloween is almost here!  Are you ready?  I am heading to the store today to get candy and wondering how much to get.  Made this cute little trick or treat bag for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.

CuteHalloweenbag

I used a pattern from the Cute Halloween DSP for the bag.   The cute ghost was fussy cut from the Cute Halloween DSP.  This piece of DSP was perfect for the#CCMC688 color challenge of  Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, and Highland Heather.

CCMC688

CuteHalloweenbag-close

The cute Black Glitter bats were cut using the Seasonal Swirls dies and attached to the label using a strip of Window Sheet.  I like the illusion of the flying bats.  The clouds were cut using dies from the Give It A Whirl set.   Wondering where the BOO is from?  It is from the Banner Year set.  This stamp set has a lot of cute images and sayings that will have you covered for many occasions especially Halloween through Valentine's Day.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for the challenge!

Sparkle of the Season

This week I am focusing on the Sparkle of the Season bundle.

SparkleoftheSeason-pumpkinwreath

I loved arranging all the different leaves , wreaths and pumpkins all cut using the Seasonal Swirls dies.  I cut 2 wreaths, one in Cajun Craze and the other in Bumblebee CS.  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive ink on Old Olive CS and also Mossy Meadow ink on Mossy Meadow CS.  Two of the cute pumpkins were cut from Pumpkin Pie CS and the other in Very Vanilla CS.  The stems of the pumpkins were colored using a Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blend.  I wanted a little bit of shine so I added a few Gold Holly Leaves to the arrangement.

SparkleoftheSeason-pumpkinwreath-side

The sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze ink on a label cut using the Seasonal Labels dies.  The Very Vanilla background was embossed using the Stitched Greenery Die.   The die adds lots of texture and interest but doesn't compete with the wreath.   This is one of the standalone dies in the Annual Catalog which means it does not have a coordinating stamp set.

Unfortunately the Seasonal Swirls dies are currently in Not Orderable status.  They are expected back in stock shortly and will hopefully be available for purchase soon.

Thanks for stopping by and  if you want me to notify you when the dies become available, just leave me a comment or send me an email.

Gingerbread & Peppermint Week: Stars and Snowflakes

Today's cards show the more elegant side of the Frosted Gingerbread bundle.

FrostedGingerbread-white&gold

I die cut about 8 Basic White snowflakes using the detailed snowflake die.  The snowflakes were randomly glued on a Basic White layer.  The layer between the snowflakes and the card base is Gold Foil.   The sentiment was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. The label was cut using a die from the Pierced Blooms dies and attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally, I added some gold Metallic Pearls

FrostedGingerbread-white&gold-side

I love the white and gold palette and how simple and elegant this looks.

FrostedGingerbread-stars

I liked the look so much I decided to try it using the detailed star die.  Instead of Gold foil I decided to use Real Red cardstock.  The same die from the Pierced Blooms dies was used for the sentiment with White embossing powderRed Rhinestones were added for a little bit of shine.

FrostedGingerbread-star-side

Do you like the Real Red and white or the gold and white?  I am leaning towards the gold and white.  I think this bundle is a lot more versatile than I originally thought.  Don't you agree?

Cute Halloween

It is Friday and time for a new Festive Friday Challenge!

FF95

Not familiar with the Festive Friday Challenge?  The Festive Friday Challenge is a bi-weekly challenge.  Every challenge has an Inspo list which is inspired by a festivity.  To play along with the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo List and post your creation in the Festive Friday gallery.  The list of all the rules can be found here.

CuteHalloween-FF95

I used cat, orange, heart, and texture from the Inspo List on my card.  The cat was punched out of Basic Black CS and textured using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.   The orange can be found in the Cute Halloween DSP, the cat's rhinestone eyes, and the orange glitter heart on the cat's collar.  The eyes are rhinestones colored using a Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend.  The orange glitter paper is a coveted scrap of retired Glitter Paper.  I miss the days when we had more colors of Glitter paper.  The "boo" is from the Banner Year stamp set stamped on a label from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  The bat and sparkly, swirly wreath are from the Seasonal Swirls Dies.

CuteHalloween-FF95-front

The Black Glittered ribbon unties to show 3 panels.  It opens and sort of twists and swings out to reveal the rest of the card,

CuteHalloween-FF95-center

This is the middle panel and also the section you would use to write out your message.  The sentiment and the bats are from the Sparkle of the Season stamp set.

Here you can see how the card twists and fold out.

Delicate Baubles Gift Tags

Have you checked out the Delicate Baubles dies?  I ask this because I totally overlooked them until a team member shared some photos with me of cards she made.  Once I saw the cards she made I knew I needed to get them too!

Delicatebaublesdies

I have been playing with the dies and realized they would make lovely tags.

DelicateBaubles-tags-Merry&Bright

On this tag I cut the intricate die in Black Glitter paper and the solid ornament die in Snowy White Velvet paper.  The ornament is topped with the White Glittered Organdy ribbon.  All  of these products can be found in the 2021 July-December Mini catalog.  Isn't this an elegant tag?

DelicateBaubles-tags-open

To make the actual tag/card portion, I cut a piece of Basic White CS using the dies.   You need a piece of Basic White that is as wide as the ornament and twice as long.  I folded the Basic White CS in half and placed the die so the portion of the die that has a hole is above the fold.  The yellow paper shown below is a post it note to secure the die in place.

DelicateBaubles-tags-cutting

I used glue to adhere the decorative tag to the tag base and also added the ribbon.

DelicateBaubles-Joy-tag

For this tag I cut the solid base out of Black Glitter Paper and the intricate ornament from the Snowy White Velvet sheets, the opposite of what was done for the first tag.  Which do you like better?

DelicateBaubles-Joy-tagside

Here you can see the inside.  The to and from can be found in the Be Jolly stamp set.

If you are looking for another idea on how to use the Delicate Baubles dies check out this post.  Next week I have another card using the Delicate Baubles die so look for it soon.

Thanks for stopping by and  be sure to take a look at the Delicate Baubles die on page 69 of the 2021 July-December Mini Catalog.  If you don't have a catalog please let me know and I can send one to you.

October Stamp of the Month Projects… To Go!

The October stamp of the month is Merriest Moments  (pg 43 of the Mini Catalog). The To Go projects use both the Merriest Moments stamp set and the Merriest Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder aka the bundle (156783).  Having the bundle will make it easier to complete the projects but is not necessary for the projects. What comes in your To Go kit?  All the cardstock,  DSP, embellishments and a link to the tutorials to make your projects (3 cards).  You will also need the Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, Bumblebee, and a Cherry Cobbler ink pads.  These items and adhesives are not included with the To Go projects.

To register all you need to do is place an order for $40 using the Host Code D7SSYY6Y on my online store- sharonstamps.stampinup.net before the15th of the month.  Your project kit will be mailed  to you on or before the 22nd of the month.  The Host Code is how I will know you want the Stamp of the Month Projects to go. You will need the stamp set to complete the projects.

Be Jolly

Do you like to color?  I do and usually have a few images colored and waiting to be added to a project.  All three of the images in today's card were sitting in the Be Jolly stamp case patiently waiting for me to use them.

BeJolly-HeartfeltWishes

All of the images were colored using Stampin' Blends. I used Real Red, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, and Smoky Slate.  The card base is 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4".  The Real Red CS layer is 4" x 5-1/4".  The Basic White layer is 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and embossed using the Wintry 3D Embossing folder.  The Wintry 3D folder is not as wide as the card front and conveniently leaves a sentiment sized unembossed area.

BeJolly-HeartfeltWishes-side

The sentiment I used is from the beautiful Heartfelt Wishes stamp set.  This is a sentiment only set and is gorgeous.  I would love to have handwriting this beautiful.   The sentiments in this stamp set are perfect for the upcoming holidays and beyond.  The final addition were a few small sequins from the Subtle Shimmer Sequins.  The best way to adhere sequins is to use a tiny drop of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and pick up and place the sequin using  the Take Your Pick tool.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to check out the Clearance Rack for some great deals.
