There are certain flowers that are associated with specific days.  The red poppy is the symbol of remembrance to honor fallen soldiers.  It even has its own day, May 28, 2021 was designated as National Poppy Day. 

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  Just checking in with a sweet and simple card using the Measure of Love stamp set.    This was one of the sets I just plain wanted.   I think it was those cherries and their little stems or maybe the bowl with the hearts.  I cannot really explain it, I just wanted it.  

I paired it with the happiest pack of paper, Pattern Party (only available as part of the Stampin' Rewards program).  I  think these two were made for each other.  I stamped on Basic White CS die cut using the Stitched Rectangles dies.  I was surprised how easy it was to line things up, even the stems on the cherries!   I used Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Crushed Curry, and Pool Party for the colors,  all of which are in the Pattern Party DSP.

The "sweet" sentiment is from the Sweet as a Peach stamp set.   The cute Poppy Parade flower was cut using the Pierced Blooms dies.   The center of the flower is from the Playing with Patterns Resin Dots.

Do you see it?  The inside of the card?  Doesn't it look like a punched out circle of the Pattern Party DSP?   It isn't, this was stamped using two stamps from the Measure of Love set. This is the another reason I think the Pattern Party DSP and the Measure of Love stamp set were made for each other.  

So cute , right?  This was such a fun discovery.  It took me a couple of tries to figure out how these two stamps went together.  How did I finally get it right?  I looked at the DSP and there was the answer, after that it was easy.  I found it was easier to stamp the centers and leaves (Granny Apple Green) first and then the flowers (Poppy Parade).

I purchased the Stitched Triangles dies a few months ago and wait for it...never used them!   I hate it when  I do that.  I know I had lots of ideas on ways to use the dies which is why I purchased them but it wasn't until I had to make something for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0085 that I pulled them out. 

Are you familiar with the Festive Friday Challenge? Every challenge has a festivity it is celebrating  and an Inspo list inspired by the festivity. The Inspo List is a 10 item list you can choose from to create your project.  Incorporate THREE of the items from the Inspo list in your project and post to the gallery. And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about National Flag Week, which is the theme for this challenge.

I chose from the Inspo list stars, bright colors, and banner/flag die.

I used the banner die from the Stitched Triangles die set and cut it in rainbow colors.  I used  Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, and Gorgeous Grape.  The little stars were cut out of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper.  The Real Red stitched scalloped borders were cut using the Penned Flowers dies. 

The sentiment is from the Sweet as a Peach set and stamped in Real Red ink.  Inside I added a few more stars cut from the Rainbow Glimmer paper.  Be sure to check out what the rest of the Festive Friday design team created.

Is there such a thing as a perfect pack of paper? Probably not but  I will say that the Pattern Party DSP (Stampin' Reward choice)  comes pretty close.  On one side there are bright  patterns and on the flip side black & white designs.   If you are sad that the True Love DSP will not be available after the 2021 January-June Mini Catalog retires, this pack of paper will definitely help you get over it.  There are 12 double sided designs and you get 4 of each.  

The Pattern Party DSP is  unusual because it is exclusively a Stampin' Reward choice.  What are Stampin' Rewards?   Stampin' Rewards is what we used to call Host Benefits.  Hosts earn Stampin' Rewards based on their party's total.  Stampin' Rewards can also be earned on individual orders (separate from a party) when the total reaches $150.  In addition to the Pattern Party DSP, there are 3 stamps sets that are also exclusive to Stampin' Rewards.

When I saw this week's  Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC665, I knew the sketch would be a great one to use Pattern Party DSP.

The mix of stripes and florals just brings a smile to my face.  The flowers are so cheerful and bright.  The card base and layers are Poppy Parade.  The sentiment is from the Many Messages stamp set and cut out using the Messages die (until the end of June these are available as a bundle 156272, which will save  you 10%).   The Many Messages stamp set is one big stamp with lots of different sentiments and you can cut them all out at the same time using the Message die.   I stamped and cut out a bunch of these sentiments so they are ready to use.  

I didn't have any Poppy Parade embellishments so I colored some rhinestones using the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends.   This is a great trick to remember.  You can use Stampin' Blends on your embellishments to custom color them.  I also added my usual strip of DSP to the inside of the card.  I don't want to waste any of this beautiful paper.

Today we are mixing up a little from the 2021 January-June Mini Catalog and from the 2021-22 Annual Catalog.  

I am a fan of  the new 2021-23 Stampin' Up! In Colors.  I love the colors and they seem to fill a niche that we didn't even know needed filling.  I used Polished Pink for the card base.  Generally, I use a 4-1/4" x 11" (scored at 5-1/2") card base.  Partly because I find that orientation easier to photograph but mainly because I like that it is a little different than the usual card.  I cut out 6 Basic White flowers using the Pierced Blooms dies (part of the In Bloom bundle).   I used the new In Colors for the centers of the flowers and decorated the centers and around the flowers with the Matte Black Dots.

Here you can see that inside of the card I added a strip of Evening Evergreen CS and more flowers from the Pierced Blooms dies in the new In Colors.  I used the "happy" from the Pretty Perennials stamp set.   I inked the stamp in Versamark ink, sprinkled white embossing powder over the word and heat embossed it.  I really like this font!  I want a lot more words in this font and coordinating dies too.  I am hoping some time soon someone will hear my plea.  Since it doesn't yet exist, I did fussy cut this happy out and popped it up using some Black Stampin' Dimensionals.

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary  Thursday Challenge.  This week it is a color challenge.  The colors for #CCMC664, Night of Navy, Flirty Flamingo, and Bumblebee.

You know I love stripes and florals so I decided to create a striped background using Night of Navy, Flirty Flamingo, and Basic White CS.  The Night of Navy and Flirty Flamingo strips are 3/4" wide.  I used the Artistic die and cut the beautiful bouquet outline in Bumblebee CS.  I colored the rhinestoes using the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends and placed them in the centers of the flowers.

The "hello" is from the Biggest Wish stamp set.  The stamp was inked in Versamark ink on Bumblebee CS and sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and heat embossed.  I fussy cut around the image and attached it to the card front.  It would be nice to have coordinating dies but unfortunately there isn't any.  The good thing is that sentiment is not difficult to fussy cut.

Here's a quick and simple fun fold card featuring the Spiral Dye and the Party Puffins.

The Spiral Dye was inked once in So Saffron and then turned 180 degrees and stamped in Pale Papaya.  I did use the Stamparatus to stamp the Spiral Dye.  It is amazing how easy it is to get this effect.  Look forward to trying this stamp using lots of different color combinations.

In addition to the Party Penguins set I used the Many Messages bundle to stamp and cut out the sentiment.  I also used the little fish stamp from the Whale Done set to stamp along the side of the card. The Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins were used to add a little shine.

This simple fold is definitely a fun one.   Basically, the circles are placed along the score line so they fold back to open and close the card.

Card Base: 5-1/2" x 7-1/2" scored at 3-1/4", 6-1/2"

Did you know that there is a secret stamp in the Snailed It set?  Yup, there is.  This stamp set is already so darn cute and versatile that this little stamp is just the cherry on top of an already full and cute set.  Check out this card and see if you can spot the secret stamp.

Did you figure it out?  Yup it is the polka dot.  Are you wondering where it was hiding?  

Do you see it?  It is the center of the thought bubble.  When I was putting my set away I realized there was this almost perfect circle that could be used instead of thrown away.   

I am always on the lookout for these kinds of bonus secret stamps. Now I hope you will be too.  Be sure to tell me when you find one.

Here I used it again.  I like a polka dotted background.  This one I stamped and then added textured with the Tasteful Textile 3D folder.  This time I colored the images using the Black Magic technique or at least a variation of it.  

What is the technique?  First, I stamped and heat embossed the image.  I colored in the image using the Chalk Marker.   If you don't have a chalk marker you can use some White Craft ink.  I like the marker because it is fast and easy to use.  Next I used Watercolor Pencils to color  the image.   The chalk marker allows you to color on dark cardstock.

This is a fun and easy technique and who knew you could color on black cardstock?!

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen Blog hop!  This month our theme is our favorites from the brand new Stampin' Up! Catalog.  It was hard for me to decide what to use for the hop since I have a lot of favorites.  

I decided to go with the Sweet as a Peach bundle and the lovely You're a Peach Designer Series Paper.  I love the colors in the DSP, such a fresh combination.   I love the peaches and the flowers.  The artist who made the samples in the catalog did such a fantastic job.   

I wanted to show off the paper so I used this fold that lets me show you 3 of the designs of DSP.  On the front panel I used one of the new dies from the Scalloped Contours Dies.    I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink.  There are spaces in the leaves where you can add the peaches or the flowers.  In each flower I added a Balmy Blue flower that was cut using another of the Peach dies.  I wanted a little shine so I added a sequin from the Artistry Blooms Sequins to the center of the flowers.

When you open the card this is the panel you see.   I stamped another sentiment from the Sweet as a Peach set and more flowers. 

This is the card all the way open.  This stamp set not only has great images but lots of sentiments too.  I think it is just peachy keen! 

The card base is  5-1/2" x 11" scored at 3-1/4" x 7-1/2".   It is a simple fun fold and lots of fun to make especially with all the beautiful Designer Series Paper in this new catalog.

One of the first sets I purchased from the new 2021-22 Stampin' Up! catalog was Plentiful Plants, in fact I bought the Bloom Where You're Planted Suite which includes the Plentiful Plants bundle, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP, and the Paper Lattices.    There was just something about that bundle that resonated with me.  It was nostalgic to see the macrame plant hanger and it brought back memories of dorm rooms filled with plants.   This suite of products was perfect to use  for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0084 celebrating the festivity, National Gardening Week.

The Festive Friday Challenge has a  Inspo List which is inspired by a festivity.  Your project has to use at least 3 items from the Inspo List.  You do not have to follow the theme but you can.  You can check out the Festive Friday blog for all the information on how to play along with the Challenge. 

I chose plants, green, die-cuts, and flowers from the Inspo List.

I wanted to create a window scene so I started by cutting a frame using the In Good Taste DSP and 2 Stitched Rectangle dies.   I attached the Paper Lattice to the frame and backed it with a piece from the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP.  The frame and lattice were attached to the Early Espresso CS card base.  I "planted" my plants in Cajun Craze CS pots that were stamped using Early Espresso ink.  The plants were stamped on Just Jade CS in either Just Jade ink or Evening Evergreen ink.  Check out the shading on the pots, it is so good!

The Polished Pink flowers are from the Loose Flower Flourishes.  I attached them with dots of glue. The sentiment is also from the Plentiful Plants stamp set.  The label is from the Messages die.  Inside of the card I planted another pot of greenery.
