Sweet Symmetry DSP & the Pierced Bloom Dies

I have been trying to resist the  Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper but when it went on sale, I knew I had to order it.  I love the bright colors and simple cute designs.   This was the first card I made using the paper and I love  that I can show you both sides of the paper.

I used the Pierced Blooms Dies for the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment is from the Biggest Wish stamp set.  I haven't made this style of card in a while.  It was so fun and I ended up making 4 more cards using the different designs in the paper pack.  I  will share those another time.

The flower centers are Opal Rounds colored with Night of Navy and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends.  If you are interested in making this card.  I created a tutorial  you can find here.  The paper and stamps are different but the basic measurements should work.

Be sure to check out the DSP that are on sale.  There are some beautiful ones and at a great price!

Artistic Dies for International Friendship Day

Did you know that August 1 is International Friendship Day?  This is just one of the fun festivities that provides inspiration for the Festive Friday Challenge.  The Festive Friday Challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is focused around an Inspo List inspired by the festivity.  The Inspo List has 10 items on it and all you have to do is use 3 of them on your project to play along with the challenge.

What a fun list!  So many possibilities.  I have been wanting to use the Artistic Dies and thought this would be a great time to use them.

I cut the large bouquet from the Artistic Dies out of Black Glitter Paper.  This paper will be available in August when the new Mini Catalog goes live.  I adhered the sparkly bouquet on a piece of Pearlescent Specialty Paper that was cut using the Scalloped Contours Dies.  The black glitter against the pearlescent sheen is really lovely and I wish I could better capture it.

To finish the card I added a sentiment from the  Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set.  Isn't that a lovely sentiment?  I mounted it on a Blushing Bride card base.  So far i used pink and friendship sentiment from the Inspo List.  I decided that rhinestones would be another fun sparkly element and would also be my third  item from the Inspo List.   I am also counting the Black Glitter bouquet as the fourth item even though the Inspo List says glitter card.

Thank you for stopping by!  Be sure to check out what the rest of the Festive Friday Design team created for the challenge

Plentiful Plants

It is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This month the challenge is a little different, we are Casing the Catalog.  This week we are casing the card on page 52 of the 2021 Annual Catalog.

We are using this card  as the inspiration for our projects.  What catches your eye?  Is it the colors, the layout, the stamp set, or ?  Can I just say, aren't those babies adorable!  I do not have this stamp set (yet) so I used the  layout for my inspiration.

Instead of using the Stitched Rectangles I used the Tailor Made Tags Dies for the base of the images.  The Tailor Made Dies are standalone dies meaning they do not have a coordinating stamp set since they can be used with lots of different stamp sets.   Both of the flower pots were stamped (Plentiful Plants)  and then cut out using the Perfect Plants die.   The hangers were cut out using the Perfect Plants die.  The plant on the left was cut from the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP.  This is one of the 9 packs of Designer Series Paper that is on sale through August 2.  The plant on the right was stamped and cut using the stamp and dies (Plentiful Plants bundle).

All the tags were tied using the Crumb Cake Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.  I am quite pleased that we have a selection of Baker's Twine again.  The little Polished Pink flowers are from the Loose Flower Flourishes.  I attached them to the plant and the tag using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I wanted to add a little pop of color.

You can see that i decorated the inside of the card using a plant cut out from the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP.  This is another great pack of patterned paper with some images that can be cut using the Perfect Plants die and some great background designs like the bricks I used on this card.

Check out the links below for all the supplies I used on this card and thank you for stopping by.

Pansy Patch Ombre Pocket

This month the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge  will be CASEing the catalog.   Every week a sample from the 2021-22 Annual Catalog will be selected and the design team will CASE it.  We might CASE the colors, sketch, or ?   You never know what will be the spark that fuels inspiration.

This week it is a sample on page 28, the Pansy Petals.

I was pretty faithful to the sample except I made the project into a card.

These gift bags are  fun to play with and can be used  for cards as well as packaging.  I used a Polished Pink Ombre Gift Bag  and cut it down in size so it measures 4-1/4" x 4-3/4" .  The card insert measures 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" so it is sized for an A-2 envelope.  I used the large scallop edge die from the Scallop Contours Dies (also part of the Color & Contour bundle) to cut the top of the pocket.    I also embossed it using the Check embossing folder from the Checks & Dots.   I used one of the Tailor Made Tags dies to cut out a design from the Pansy Petals DSP.   I used the Pansy dies to cut out a flower from the Pansy Petals DSP and leaves from Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen CS.

The tags were secured in place using the Polished Pink Open Weave ribbon.  All the sentiments are from the Pansy Patch stamp set.   The In Color Jewels were used for the center of the flowers and to accent the sentiments.

Thank you for stopping by.  Hope you will join in the challenge.  You can go to the Create with Connie & Mary Facebook page and join in the fun and post your entry in the comments.
