Poinsettia Peace
September 03, 2021
Did you know that September 21 is the International Day of Peace? What is the International Day of Peace? The UN General Assembly has declared that the 21 of September is a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire. I wish there wasn't a need for a day of peace and we lived in a peaceful world. I know that is naive but I still wish it were our reality.
The International Day of Peace is the festivity we are honoring for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0092. To play along with our challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo List which features items inspired by the festivity.
We would love for you to participate in the challenge and you can read all about the challenge here and enter your project here.
I used leaves, white, and die cut from the Inspo List. The dies I used are the Poinsettia Dies. These dies coordinate with the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. If you look closely at the picture you will see that there is some embossed lines on the poinsettias and the leaves. There are dies that cut the shape and another that embosses. The dies nest so you can cut and emboss with one pass through the die cutting machine.
I have taped the dies that cut and the dies that emboss together to make it quicker and easier. Here you can also see that there are 3 sizes of poinsettia petals and 2 sizez of leaves.
I used the Be Dazzling 6" x 6" Specialty Paper which is a Sale-A-Bration choice (FREE with aa qualifying order). It adds a nice sparkle to the card. If you are wondering where the "peace" is from, it is a long ago retired die set from Stampin' Up! I do not keep too many retired things but this die set (Christmas Greetings) was one I had to keep. After all we all need some good die cut words. In the centers of the poinsettia I used a cluster of three red gems from the Wonderful Gems. These gems come in clear and red and both contain gold glitter flecks in them.
Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for the challenge.

The September stamp of the month is Nature’s Harvest (pg 54-56 of the Mini Catalog). The To Go projects use both the Nature’s Harvest stamp set and the Harvest Dies aka the bundle (156813). Watercolor pencils (asst 1), Early Espresso ink pad, Bumblebee ink pad, Stazon ink pad, Tuxedo Black Memento pad, Blending Brush or sponge, Water Painter or paintbrush, and a Blender pen were also used on the projects. These items and adhesives are not included with the To Go projects.
To register all you need to do is place an order for $40 using the Host Code 66Z9UMFU on my online store-place link here before the15th of the month. Your project kit will be mailed to you on or before the 22nd of the month. The Host Code is how I will know you want the Stamp of the Month Projects to go. You will need the stamp set to complete the projects.

Beautiful, Sharon! I love the layout! The Be Dazzling paper adds just the right amount of sparkle. If I was the recipient of this card, it would be framed...it's that gorgeous!
