Sparkle of the Season Tag

Still playing with the Sparkle of the Season bundle.  On today's project I used 2 of the 3 wreath dies from the Seasonal Swirls dies.

SparkleoftheSeason-FF96

This project was made for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0096.  The Festive Friday Challenge is the challenge with the Inspo List.  The challenge is to use 3 items from the Inspo List on your project.  The Inspo List is inspired by a festivity.  This challenge the festivity we are being inspired by is World Kindness Day.  I would like to believe that everyday is World Kindness Day.  Your project doesn't have to focus on the festivity but it can.

FF96

SparkleoftheSeasonwreath-FF96

I used 2 different wreath dies on this gift tag.  One to create the background and another for the actual wreath.  The Real Red flowers were cut using the Christmas Cheer Dies  and attached to the Old Olive and Mossy Meadow wreaths.  The sentiment is from the Classic Cloche stamp set and heat embossed in Silver embossing powder.  Can you guess what die I used to cut out the sentiment?  It looks like one of  the stitched rectangle dies but it isn't.  It is the handle die from the All Dressed Up dies.

151665

The handle die is 6" long.  It is easy to custom cut out the sentiment.  Stamp the sentiment, cut it with the die and then line it back up with the die and cut it to the correct size.

Cute Halloween Trick or Treat Bag

Halloween is almost here!  Are you ready?  I am heading to the store today to get candy and wondering how much to get.  Made this cute little trick or treat bag for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.

CuteHalloweenbag

I used a pattern from the Cute Halloween DSP for the bag.   The cute ghost was fussy cut from the Cute Halloween DSP.  This piece of DSP was perfect for the#CCMC688 color challenge of  Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, and Highland Heather.

CCMC688

CuteHalloweenbag-close

The cute Black Glitter bats were cut using the Seasonal Swirls dies and attached to the label using a strip of Window Sheet.  I like the illusion of the flying bats.  The clouds were cut using dies from the Give It A Whirl set.   Wondering where the BOO is from?  It is from the Banner Year set.  This stamp set has a lot of cute images and sayings that will have you covered for many occasions especially Halloween through Valentine's Day.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for the challenge!

Sparkle of the Season

This week I am focusing on the Sparkle of the Season bundle.

SparkleoftheSeason-pumpkinwreath

I loved arranging all the different leaves , wreaths and pumpkins all cut using the Seasonal Swirls dies.  I cut 2 wreaths, one in Cajun Craze and the other in Bumblebee CS.  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive ink on Old Olive CS and also Mossy Meadow ink on Mossy Meadow CS.  Two of the cute pumpkins were cut from Pumpkin Pie CS and the other in Very Vanilla CS.  The stems of the pumpkins were colored using a Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blend.  I wanted a little bit of shine so I added a few Gold Holly Leaves to the arrangement.

SparkleoftheSeason-pumpkinwreath-side

The sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze ink on a label cut using the Seasonal Labels dies.  The Very Vanilla background was embossed using the Stitched Greenery Die.   The die adds lots of texture and interest but doesn't compete with the wreath.   This is one of the standalone dies in the Annual Catalog which means it does not have a coordinating stamp set.

Unfortunately the Seasonal Swirls dies are currently in Not Orderable status.  They are expected back in stock shortly and will hopefully be available for purchase soon.

Thanks for stopping by and  if you want me to notify you when the dies become available, just leave me a comment or send me an email.

Halloween Tiny Tiered Tray

I don't usually post on Saturdays but I thought I would  pop in and share with you a little project that I made just for fun.  Decorated tiered trays are a trend in home decor and I love it.   Here's my little baby step into the tiered tray trend,

HalloweenTieredTray

This tray is only about 5-1/2" tall so it is small and not overwhelming to fill.  I decided that I would try and decorate it primarily using supplies I already had in my craft room.  Fortunately I have a lot in my craft room to work with.

Bats and pumpkin - Seasonal Swirls dies

Pumpkin leaves - Christmas Cheer dies

Clouds - Give It A Whirl dies

Swirl candies - Gingerbread dies

Spider web - Frightful Tags dies

Big Pumpkin - Layering Circles dies

Black Glitter Cats: Cat Punch

Thanks for stopping by and cheers to a great weekend!

Gingerbread & Peppermint Week: Sketch Challenge

One of the things I  wondered when I decided to try focusing on one bundle/stamp set at a time was, would it make participating in challenges more difficult?   Every week I create a project for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  The challenge is either a color or sketch challenge.   This week it is a sketch challenge.

CCMC687

How did it go?  I found that it was a bit easier to figure out what to make.  Instead of spending time looking at my stamp sets and DSP (patterned paper) and trying to decide what to use, I could just start.  Lesson learned that sometimes it is good to limit my choices.

FrostedGingerbread-CCMC687

I used the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP (love the diagonal stripe),  the Frosted Gingerbread bundle, and one additional die (label) from the Harvest Dies.  Check out the Old Olive border, it is from the Gingerbread dies.  Isn't it lovely?   The center of the snowflake is one of the Wonderful Gems.   This is the large Real Red gem and it has gold flecks in it.  The sentiment was heat  embossed using white embossing powder.

FrostedGingerbread-CCMC687-side

Inside I added another snowflake and a strip of DSP.  Gotta dress up the inside too!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for the challenge.

Creativity Abounds Blog Hop...Frosted Gingerbread Bundle

125873640_10157240611041642_4807947291545357817_o

Welcome to the Creativity Abounds Blog Hop!  We are a group of international Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  Our blog hop goes live every 3rd Wednesday of the month.  The theme for this month is any Christmas bundle.  We offer a monthly tutorial of the projects shown on the hop, please see below how you can qualify for the tutorial and/or purchase it.

Since I am featuring the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite this week, I used the Frosted Gingerbread bundle for my card for the blog hop.

FrostedGingerbread-3flakes

The snowflakes were cut from the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP using the Gingerbread dies.  The DSP features snowflakes, ornaments, bells, stars, and lots of swirls that can be cut out using the Gingerbread dies.  There are also trees and mittens that can be fussy cut from the DSP.   There are also stripes, plaids, and dots.

In the suite there is also a pack Kraft Paper.   This pack of paper is heavier than DSP but lighter than cardstock.  Here I embossed it using the Wintry 3D  embossing folder.

FrostedGingerbread-3flakes-open

This is a fairly easy card and would be a good one to mass product.  This design would also look good with the ornament, bell or star.

Gingerbread & Peppermint Week: Stars and Snowflakes

Today's cards show the more elegant side of the Frosted Gingerbread bundle.

FrostedGingerbread-white&gold

I die cut about 8 Basic White snowflakes using the detailed snowflake die.  The snowflakes were randomly glued on a Basic White layer.  The layer between the snowflakes and the card base is Gold Foil.   The sentiment was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. The label was cut using a die from the Pierced Blooms dies and attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally, I added some gold Metallic Pearls

FrostedGingerbread-white&gold-side

I love the white and gold palette and how simple and elegant this looks.

FrostedGingerbread-stars

I liked the look so much I decided to try it using the detailed star die.  Instead of Gold foil I decided to use Real Red cardstock.  The same die from the Pierced Blooms dies was used for the sentiment with White embossing powderRed Rhinestones were added for a little bit of shine.

FrostedGingerbread-star-side

Do you like the Real Red and white or the gold and white?  I am leaning towards the gold and white.  I think this bundle is a lot more versatile than I originally thought.  Don't you agree?

Gingerbread & Peppermint Week

Are you wondering what is going on and what the heck is Gingerbread  & Peppermint Week?  No,  I am not transitioning into a baking blog.  BTW I love to bake  because I love to eat baked goods and that is why I don't bake.  I am referring to the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite, pages 8-10 of the  2021 July-December Mini Catalog.  I am experimenting  to see if focusing on one stamp set, bundle, and/or suite helps me be more efficient and creative.

FrostedeGingerbread-giftcard

This card is note card  size (3-1/2" x 5") and yes, it is mailable.

FrostedGingerbread-giftcard-open

The sentiment panel pulls up when you open the card.  You can also attach a gift card with a glue dot where  the sentiment is.

FrostedeGingerbread-giftcard-arrowsjpeg

I just realized that I forgot to list the Delicate Baubles die which were also used.  Where?  The bow at the top of the ornament is from that die set.  The die is a bow with a long "string " and I cut off the string and used just the bow.

The colors in the  Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP are Real Red, Old Olive, Early Espresso, and Cinnamon Cider, a pretty classic Christmas palette.  Some of the designs on the DSP can be cut out using the Gingerbread dies and/or fussy cut.  There are also lot of classic patterns like plaids, stripes, and dots, which make this DSP pack quit versatile.

Cute Halloween

It is Friday and time for a new Festive Friday Challenge!

FF95

Not familiar with the Festive Friday Challenge?  The Festive Friday Challenge is a bi-weekly challenge.  Every challenge has an Inspo list which is inspired by a festivity.  To play along with the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo List and post your creation in the Festive Friday gallery.  The list of all the rules can be found here.

CuteHalloween-FF95

I used cat, orange, heart, and texture from the Inspo List on my card.  The cat was punched out of Basic Black CS and textured using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.   The orange can be found in the Cute Halloween DSP, the cat's rhinestone eyes, and the orange glitter heart on the cat's collar.  The eyes are rhinestones colored using a Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend.  The orange glitter paper is a coveted scrap of retired Glitter Paper.  I miss the days when we had more colors of Glitter paper.  The "boo" is from the Banner Year stamp set stamped on a label from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  The bat and sparkly, swirly wreath are from the Seasonal Swirls Dies.

CuteHalloween-FF95-front

The Black Glittered ribbon unties to show 3 panels.  It opens and sort of twists and swings out to reveal the rest of the card,

CuteHalloween-FF95-center

This is the middle panel and also the section you would use to write out your message.  The sentiment and the bats are from the Sparkle of the Season stamp set.

Here you can see how the card twists and fold out.
