Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Celebrating In Colors

54006210_10219309231906317_8038300571733590016_n

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use the May 2022 Celebrating In Colors kit.

This kit contains supplies to create 10 cards.  In this kit you get 2 of each of the 5 cards (one for each of the new In Colors).  Love ombre?  You are going to love this kit.

CelebratingInColor-PaperPumpkin

I chose to use the Starry Sky components for my card.  I trimmed about 1/2" off the top of the ombre layer.  I wrapped some gold cord from the Simply Elegant Trim around the ombre layer before attaching it to the card base.  I attached a mini glue dot to the back of the gold trim knot to secure it in place.  I added the "You" tag and stamped the Just For sentiment on it in Basic Gray ink (love that even a mini ink spot is provided in the Paper Pumpkin kit).

CelebratingInColor-PaperPumpkin-popup

Surprise!  I attached the Best Wishes to a simple pop up mechanism.  I also colored in the letters using the Starry Sky and Parakeet Party Stampin' Blends.  You could also use the Stampin' Write markers or a Blender Pen.  I thought the inside needed more color so I took apart one of the coordinating envelopes, yes you get envelopes too and adhered it.  Isn't it a fabulous backdrop for the gold foiled sentiment?  A few more dots this time in Parakeet Party and my card was done.

But wait, are you wondering how the simple pop up mechanism was made?

PopUpSimple-PPP

Remember I told you I cut off about 1/2" from the ombre layer?  I cut that piece to a 3-1/2" piece and scored it at 3/4", 1-1/2", 2-1/4", and 3".  I joined it to create a square.  Easy right?

SimplePopUp-PPP-fold

This piece is attached to the fold in the card.  Once you have the pop up attached to the card base, you can attach the sentiment.  This is a very simple and yet effective way to make a pop up.  There are other ways but this one was perfect since I could use the 1/2" strip I cut off.

Cottage Rose Pocket Card

It is time for another Festive Friday Challenge!  What is the Festive Friday Challenge?  The Festive Friday Challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that has an Inspo List.  What is an Inspo List?  Every challenge has an Inspo list that has 10 items on it and those 10 items were inspired by a particular holiday, celebration or festivity.  You need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project.  You do not have to incorporate the festivity into your challenge but if you want to, you can.  Here is a link to more information about how to participate in the challenge.

This time the festivity that is inspiring the Inspo List is National Best Friends Day.

FF110

From the Inspo List I used Feminine, Pink, Patterned Paper, and Ribbon.

Stampin'Up!CottageRose-pocketcard

I used the Cottage Rose bundle and the beautiful Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper.  The DSP measures 4-1/4" x 9-3/4 scored at 5-1/2".  The Petal Pink ribbon (retired) ties around to secure the pocket.  It is barely visible but I also used one of the Eden dies to cut along the edge.

StampinUpCottageRose-pocket-close

I used Petal Pink, Old Olive, Flirty Flamingo, and Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color the flower.  I also added lots of layers of Wink of Stella to the petals.

StampinUp!CottageRose-pocket

I also used a corner rounder (retired) and trimmed the pocket as well as the card insert.

Butterfly Kisses & Sending Smiles

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week we have a sketch challenge.

CCMC717

I didn't have an oval big enough so I improvised and used a circle from the Layering Circles dies.

Stampin'Up!ButterflyKisses-SendingSmiles

I fussy cut the butterfly from the Butterfly Kisses DSP.  The DSP was also  used for the background the and side panels.  This pack of paper has bright and fun designs with a great color palette of Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Fresh Freesia, and Starry Sky.  The card base is Fresh Freesia and the layer is Starry Sky.

Stampin'UpButterflyKisses-SendingSmiles-side

On the inside of the card I used a strip of DSP and fussy cut a smaller butterfly from the Butterfly Kisses DSP.  Whenever possible I like to decorate the inside of the card as well as the envelope.

StampinUpButterflyKisses-SendingSmiles-close

The sentiment is from the Sending Smiles stamp set.  The sentiment was heat embossed using White embossing powder on a strip of Starry Sky CS.  The label  was cut using one of the dies from the Sending dies.  On either side of the sentiment there is an Iridescent Rhinestone.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created with this sketch.

Happiness Abounds and Brilliant Butterflies

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC716

I chose Polished Pink part of the 2021-23  In Color as my third color.  I thought it would provide a nice pop of color.

StampinUp-HappinessAbounds-BrilliantButterflies

I stamped and heat embossed  the flowers from the Happiness Abounds stamp set using black embossing powder. The centers of the flowers were colored using Blending Brushes and Polished Pink ink.   A Blending Brush was also used to add some black ink.  The beautiful butterfly in Sahara Sand and Basic Black was cut using the Brilliant Wings die.  The 3 Polished Pink embellishments on the butterfly's body  are the 2021-23 In Color Opal Rounds.  The ribbon is the 3/8" Open Weave ribbon in Polished Pink.  This ribbon is available in all the 2021-23 In Colors.

StampinUp-HappinessAbounds-BrilliantWings-side

I like to decorate the inside of my cards.  On this card I added another layered butterfly cut using the Brilliant  Butterflies dies.

StampinUp-HappinessAbounds-BrilliantWings-close

Sahara Sand is a color I do not use very much and  I always wonder why I don't.  I think this color combination is fun and unexpected.

Hues of Happiness

It is time for the Festive Friday Challenge!

The festivity that inspired this challenge is World Bee Day.  World Bee Day will be celebrated on May 20th.  What is World Bee Day all about?  World Bee Day wants to raise awareness of the importance of bees and beekeeping.

Here is the Inspo List for the challenge.

FF109

I used flowers, yellow and embossing from the Inspo list on my card.

HuesofHappiness-FF109

I think it is easy to see how I used flowers and yellow from the Inspo List but embossing maybe a little harder to see.  The sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set was heat embossed.  The sentiment was first stamped using Versamark ink and then sprinkled with black embossing powder and heated.

The yellow flowers were die cut from the Hues of Happiness DSP using the Blossoming Happiness dies.  The dies were also used to cut out the design on the Basic White CS.  The die  is meant to fully cut out some of the design and only partially cut out other parts.  I really like the Basic Black showing through in some of the areas, it helps to tie together the colors.

StampinUp-HuesofHappiness-FFside

Inside I added a strip of Black CS and another flower cut from the Hues of Happiness DSP.

Happiness Abounds and the Tea Boutique DSP

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a sketch challenge.

CCMC715

When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use the Tea Boutique DSP.  I used 3 different designs from the pack and love how it easy it was to mix and match the different patterns.

Stampin'Up!HuesofHappiness-CCMC715

The sentiment is from the Happiness Abounds stamp set.  I like the look of 2 fonts in one sentiment.  This set has 7 great sentiments and will definitely be a set I will reach for often.  There are 6 floral images and 2 different leaves and all of them can be cut out using the coordinated dies from the Blossoming Happiness Dies.

Stampin'Up!-HuesofHappiness-CCMC715close

I stamped the flowers from the Happiness Abounds set in Sweet Sorbet ink directly on the Tea Boutique DSP.  I like how the design on the DSP adds interest and texture to the flowers.  I need to remember to do this more often.

Stampin'Up!-HuesofHappiness-CCMC715side

I colored some rhinestones with the Sweet Sorbet Stampin' Blends and used them for the centers of the flowers.  There are In Color Matte Dots  available but I didn't have them at the time I made this card.  I do like  having the option of coloring embellishments like rhinestones and pearls with Stampin' Blends.

ICS Blog Hop...It's a Guy Thing

ICS header

Welcome to the Inspire Create Share Blog Hop!  On the 2nd Tuesday of the month we gather together to bring you this hop.  Each month there is a theme and this month the theme is...It's a Guy Thing.  This seems only fair since last month the theme was It's a Girl Thing.   Thank you for joining us and enjoy all the stops on the hop!

I chose to use the new He's the Man Product Suite.  This is a super fun new suite of products.

Stampin'Up!-He'sAllThat-ICS

I used all the products in the He's the Man Suite on this card, the He's All That bundle, He's the Man DSP, and the Rustic Metallic Dots.  I stamped the compass and words in Early Espresso ink and colored in the compass with a Soft Succulent Stampin' Blend.  In the center of the compass and on the die cut pieces on either side of the compass I added the Rustic Metallic Dots.  The All That dies are going to be used a lot.  There are 10 dies in the set and are shapes that can be used on lots of different projects.  I used the circle and the argyle designs on this cards belly band.

StampinUp-He'sAllThat-ICS-open

This fold makes 2 cards from a sheet of Early Espresso cardstock.  To make this card, score the cardstock  in quarters and then cut on the diagonal.

StampinUp-HesAllThat-ICS#2

For the second card I used the same DSP but changed from a belly band to the Soft Succulent Satin Shimmer Ribbon.  The center image is from the He's the Man DSP.   This DSP is a little different and contains 2 each of 5 double-sided designs and 2 die cut sheets.  The center image is from the die cut sheets.  There are lots of different die cuts and designs.  I think you can find lots of ways to use the die cuts.

Happy Mother's Day!

Back with another Sweet Songbird card to wish you a Happy Mother's Day!

SweetSongbird-Daisies

The daisy wreath was created using the Medium Daisy punch.  The centers for the flowers were punched from the 2022-24 In Color Glimmer Paper in Sweet Sorbet.  The chubby little bird was  cut from a Tahitian Tide piece of In Color Glimmer Paper.

SweetSongbirds-Daisies-easel

To make the card extra special I made it an easel card.  The sentiment was stamped on a banner cut using the Stylish Shapes dies.  The Sweet Sorbet plaid is from the 2022-24 In Color DSP Pack.

SweetSongbirds-Daisies-side

Wishing you a most wonderful day!

Sweet Songbirds in Stripes

Time for another fun Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  This week it is a color challenge and you get to choose your own color adventure.

CCMC714

I chose to use Daffodil Delight for the yellow and Tahitian Tide as the blue.

These colors are bright and happy which led me to using the Sweet Songbirds bundle, crazy about that chubby little bird!

Stampin'Up!-SweetSongbirds-CCMC714

The Basic White Thick card base is 4-1/4" x 11".  The Daffodil Delight and Tahitian Tide stripes were pieced on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White CS.  The large circle and the sentiment banner were cut using the new Stylish Shapes dies.  The flowers were cut using the Teacup dies.

InColorGlimmer

The chubby bird was punched using the 2022-24 In Color Glimmer paper.  When I ordered this pack of paper I didn't realize that it was ombre.  I was definitely pleasantly surprised.  I used different sections of the paper to punch out the Tahitian Tide flowers and centers.  You can also see a little of the differences in the color of the Glimmer paper  on the bird.

StampinUp!-SweetSongbirds-CCMC714-side

The Classic Matter Dots were used for the bird's eyes. I layered 3 of the beaks on top of each other.  I like the solid look it gives the beak.  Around the side of the striped layer I wrapped white Baker's Twine.
