Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Celebrating In Colors
May 31, 2022
Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use the May 2022 Celebrating In Colors kit.
This kit contains supplies to create 10 cards. In this kit you get 2 of each of the 5 cards (one for each of the new In Colors). Love ombre? You are going to love this kit.
I chose to use the Starry Sky components for my card. I trimmed about 1/2" off the top of the ombre layer. I wrapped some gold cord from the Simply Elegant Trim around the ombre layer before attaching it to the card base. I attached a mini glue dot to the back of the gold trim knot to secure it in place. I added the "You" tag and stamped the Just For sentiment on it in Basic Gray ink (love that even a mini ink spot is provided in the Paper Pumpkin kit).
Surprise! I attached the Best Wishes to a simple pop up mechanism. I also colored in the letters using the Starry Sky and Parakeet Party Stampin' Blends. You could also use the Stampin' Write markers or a Blender Pen. I thought the inside needed more color so I took apart one of the coordinating envelopes, yes you get envelopes too and adhered it. Isn't it a fabulous backdrop for the gold foiled sentiment? A few more dots this time in Parakeet Party and my card was done.
But wait, are you wondering how the simple pop up mechanism was made?
Remember I told you I cut off about 1/2" from the ombre layer? I cut that piece to a 3-1/2" piece and scored it at 3/4", 1-1/2", 2-1/4", and 3". I joined it to create a square. Easy right?
This piece is attached to the fold in the card. Once you have the pop up attached to the card base, you can attach the sentiment. This is a very simple and yet effective way to make a pop up. There are other ways but this one was perfect since I could use the 1/2" strip I cut off.
Now it is time to go and see what the talented Cheryl Hamilton has created for you.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!
