Hello Harvest and the Leaf Fall

Did you know that there is a Global Tiger Day?  There is and it is the festivity we are featuring on the Festive Friday Challenge. What is the Festive Friday Challenge?  The Festive Friday Challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that has an Inspo List.  What is an Inspo List?  Every challenge has an Inspo list that has 10 items on it and those 10 items were inspired by a particular holiday, celebration or festivity.  You need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project.  You do not have to incorporate the festivity into your challenge but if you want to, you can.  Here is a link to more information about how to participate in the challenge.

#FF0113

I chose stripes, orange, and black.

HelloHarvest-LeafFall

I used the lovely Hello Harvest bundle.  I stamped the pumpkin on Pumpkin Pie CS and used the coordinating die to cut it out. The flowers were stamped on Basic White CS and colored using Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delights, Smoky Slate, and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.  Can you see the tiny black dots around the flowers?  I used the Pearlized Enamel Effects and was pleased that I was able to make such small dots.  I kind of held my breath while I was doing it and expected a big blob to come out but it never happened.  In the background you can see the beautiful Leaf Fall embossing folder.  This is a 3D embossing folder.  The stripe DSP is from the Black & White Designs.

I look forward to seeing your projects in the Festive Friday gallery.

Butterfly Kisses DSP & Sending Smiles

It is Thursday which means it is time for another Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This month the challenges are a little different than the usual color or sketch challenge.  This month the challenges are focused around Case-ing the Catalog.  Every week a new sample is selected and it will be the inspiration.  You can use the color scheme, stamp set, and/or layout, whatever and however the selected sample inspires you.

CCMC-June2022

Here's this week's sample to inspire you!

CCMC723

I quite like this layout and it inspired my project this week.

ButterflyKissesDSP-SendingSmiles-CCMC723

I used one of the cheeriest packs of paper, the Butterfly Kisses DSP.  I cut the butterfly out from the DSP and the floral pattern is also from the Butterfly Kisses DSP pack. The butterfly sits on a Basic White  circle cut with one of the Stylish Shapes dies.  The Calypso Coral banner behind the circle was also cut using the Stylish Shapes dies.  The Starry Sky banner was cut using the Sending dies.  The sentiment is from the Sending Smiles stamp set.  The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with White embossing powder.  The Starry Sky DSP is from the 2022-24 In Color 6" x 6" DSP Assortment.  I used two sizes of the Classic Matte Dots on the card and love the clean look.

Inside I added a strip of DSP and another fussy cut butterfly from the Butterfly Kisses DSP.  The DSP strip was a little short so I cut it into 2 pieces and used the butterfly to cover up the gap.  Hate to waste even a strip of this fun and fabulous paper!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie & Mary design team made for this challenge,

Hello Harvest and the Split Card Texture

When I placed my original pre-order for the products in the 2022 July-December Mini Catalog I must have been in an Autumn frame of mind.  One of the bundles I ordered was the Hello Harvest bundle.

HelloHarvestbundle-SplitCardTexture

I colored the lovely floral arrangement with Stampin' Blends (see the complete list below).  The sentiment was embossed using Black embossing powder. If you like to heat emboss be sure to check out the Embossing Additions Tool kit.  This new kit  makes embossing even easier.  In the kit there is a Powder Pal (tray to place your project in while you sprinkle on the the embossing powder), Crafting Tweezers (useful to keep your fingers from being burned by the Heat Tool and really so many other uses),  Powder Pal (helps remove the static and those stray grains of embossing powder), and a Crafting Brush.   I also used the Split Card Texture Die (this item is currently unavailable but expected back in stock July 18).

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!  I had this brain flash and immediately had to make this card.

HippestHippos-4thJuly

Isn't she cute?  I hope you like her cause she is just jumping and dancing with joy!

I stamped the hippo (Hippest Hippos & Hippo Dies July-Aug Sale-A-Bration) using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Basic White CS.  I used Smoky Slate, Real Red, and Starry Sky Stampin' Blends to color her and her outfit.  The little star behind her ear was cut using a die from the Tree Lot Dies (Sale-A-Bration product).  The red, white and blue stars around her were cut using the Give It A Whirl dies (Annual Catalog).  The Real Red and White glimmer paper can be found in the Mini Catalog.  The blue star is actually white glimmer paper smooshed on a Starry Sky ink pad.  Be sure to let it dry before adding it to the card front.

HippestHippos-4thJuly-side2

The large celebrate is a retired die that I believe was a Sale-A-Bration choice years ago.  I love the size and font of the sentiment.  I cut this using the Real Red Glimmer Paper and added a few White Glimmer Paper stars.  The rhinestones on the stars were colored using the Starry Sky Stampin'Blends.

Hope you have a safe and wonderful day!

Cottage Wreaths

Do I have an obsession with wreaths?  Probably.  No matter how I try and talk myself out of buying a wreath set deep inside I know I will.  So get ready for lots of wreath cards featuring the Cottage Wreaths bundle.  Starting with a summertime wreath.

CottageWreaths-PolishedPink

Love this combination of Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green and Basic White.

The wreath was inked in Granny Apple Green ink, stamped on Granny Apple Green cardstock, and cut using the Country Wreath dies.   The Polished Pink bow was also cut using  the Country Wreath dies.  The cut lines on the bow is such a wonderful detail.  The flowers are from the Hippo dies (Sale-A-Bration).  Can you guess what the centers of the flowers are?  I used the Pearlized Enamel Effects to create the centers.  The Pearlized Enamel does take a few minute to dry.  It is easy to use and create little accent dots.  You get 3 colors (Black, Real Red & White) of the Pearlized Enamel Effects.  This is going to be a fun embellishment.

CottageWreaths-PolishedPink-side

I embossed the Basic White layer using the Gingham EF.  I mean gingham is perfect for summer.  The sentiment is from the Pansy Patch stamp set.   I love this sentiment since it fits a multitude of situations. The label was cut using the Sending dies and notice the little Pearlized Dot on either side of the sentiment.  This is a simple card that I hope will brighten the recipient's day.

Hippest Hippo Sending Birthday Wishes

Happy July 1st!  It is a big day!  The 2022 July-December Mini Catalog is now live AND so is the 2022 July-August Sale-A-Bration.  If you do not have these catalogs and want them, please let me know.

One of the cutest Sale-A-Bration choices is the Hippest Hippos.  What that means is  during Sale-A-Bration (Juy-August )with a qualifying purchase ($50 in the US) you can choose to receive the Hippest Hippos stamp set.  Another Sale-A-Bration choice is the coordinating Hippo Dies.  Yes you can get the Hippo dies ( 19 dies!) free with a qualifying purchase ($50 in the US).

HippestHippos-SendingSmiles

Here I paired the sweet hippo with the Dots and Spots die.  This is a standalone die and I am currently obsessed with it. I used it HERE, on another sample using the Hippest Hippos stamp set and dies. I also used the Sending Smiles bundle for the sentiments.  I am so happy to have the large Sending sentiment and pairing it with lots of smaller sentiments.   The scattered Melon Mambo flowers were cut  using a die from the Sending dies.

Stamping Tip:  I like to stamp the hippos on Smoky Slate CS.  This way I do not have to color in her cheeks or chest.  I use the Smoky Slate Blends to color around her face and body.  I also used the light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to give her a manicure and pedicure.

HippestHippos-SendingSmiles-side

The tiny flower behind the hippo's ear is a die in the Hippo Dies set.  It is just the perfect size!  I used lots of  the smallest sized Rhinestones for the centers of  the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to let me know if would like a copy of the 2022 July-Dec Mini catalog and/or 2022 July-August Sale-A-Bration catalog,
