TwonTone Flora Birthday

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week we have a color challenge.

CCMC764

I have been wanting to do more with the Two-Tone Flora Dies (buy the dies and stamp set as a bundle by May 1st and save 10%) and thought this would be a great time to use it.

TwoToenFloraDies_CheerfulDaisies

Isn't that large floral cutout in Basic White CS beautiful?  It is so delicate and detailed.  I placed Petal Pink CS behind the cutout and then added the small flowers in Petal Pink.  The small flowers were cut using the Sending dies.  The Sending dies are currently available as a bundle (bundle pricing saves you 10%) with the Sending Smiles stamp set but in the new catalog will be sold separately.   In the center of each flower i placed a Festive Pearls in gold.

The Balmy Blue frame was in my leftovers pile and was created using the Stitched Rectangle dies.  The Stitched Rectangle dies will be retiring on May 1 and are currently available and priced at $24.50!   I layered Gold Foil behind the frame and tied a Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon near the bottom of the frame.  The sentiment is from a soon to be debuting stamp set called Cheerful Daisies and the label is from the coordinating Cheerful Daisies dies.

Inside I added a strip of Petal Pink CS and Gold foil.  The sentiment is from the Pansy Patch stamp set and I added a few more flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created with this color combination,

Creativity Abounds Blog Hop...Birthdays!

Welcome to the Creativity Abounds Blog Hop!  We are a group of international Stampin' Up!® demonstrators.  We hop together on the third Wednesday of every month.  Our hops focus around a particular bundle, holiday, occasion or product suite.  Every month we create a tutorial bundle. The tutorial bundle is available as a gift with a qualifying purchase or can also be purchased. This month our theme is Birthdays!

We also offer a quarterly stamp camp.  The next stamp camp will be in February 2023 and will feature a suite from the 2023 January-April Mini Catalog.  The suite we have chosen for the next stamp camp is…By the Bay!  I will be sharing more about the camp soon.

Framed_Florets_Birthday_CA

I used the Framed Florets bundle for my birthday card.  This bundle is in the upcoming 2023 January-April Mini Catalog.  It was also part of the Fitting Florets collection that debuted in November.  The bundle is the only products from this Collection that will be in the upcoming Mini.  I wish the Fitting Florets DSP was also in the Mini but it is not and will not be available after January 4th.

This is a simple fun fold.  I like it since it allows me to show 3 patterns of DSP and how well things coordinate.

  • Night of Navy CS card base- 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 1-1/4” and 4-1/4” (14.9 cm x 21 cm scored at 3 cm and 10.5 cm)
  • Night of Navy Oval frame-3-1/4” x 4” (8 cm x 10.5 cm)
  • Night of Navy Oval frame (use large ornate oval die-the center piece) 3-1/4” x 4” (8 cm x 10.5 cm).  This piece will provide a backing for the Night of Navy/Basic White frame and make it more stable.
  • Basic White card liner- 4” x 5-1/4”, ( 14.2 cm x 9.8 cm)
  • Basic White Oval cut using the smaller oval frame-3-1/4” x 4”, (8 cm x 10.5 cm)
  • Pick 3 patterns of DSP.  Cut two at 2-3/4” x 5-1/4” and one at 1” x 5-1/4” (cut 2 at 6.5 cm x 14.2 cm and one at 2.2 cm x 14.2 cm)
  • Die cut flowers from the DSP and fussy cut 2 leaves.

I used the beautiful Framed Florets bundle.  This bundle will be in the upcoming Mini Catalog but you can also get it now!  For a limited time (January 4th or while supplies last) you can also purchase some coordinating products.  One of those products is the Fitting Florets DSP.  I used one of the patterns on my card and also cut out the flowers from the DSP using the Framed Florets dies.  The Oval frame was also cut out using the Framed Florets dies.

This Birthday Piggy and the Celebrate Everything DSP

It is time for another Festive Friday Challenge!  National Cake Day is the festivity we are featuring on the Festive Friday Challenge. What is the Festive Friday Challenge?  The Festive Friday Challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that has an Inspo List.  What is an Inspo List?  Every challenge has an Inspo list  aka as an inspiration list, that has 10 items on it and those 10 items were inspired by a particular holiday, celebration or festivity.  You need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project.  You do not have to incorporate the festivity into your challenge but if you want to, you can.  Here is a link to more information about how to participate in the challenge.

As I mentioned before we are in house hunting mode which means I have just a few stamp sets with me in our short term rental.  Can you believe that not a single one had a cupcake, sprinkles or candle!  Fortunately we were going to our storage unit and I was able to rummage through my box of stamps and pulled out the This Birthday Piggy stamp set and yes, it has a candle!

ThisBirthdayPiggy-CelebrateEverythingDSP

From the Inspo List I used, birthday sentiment, candle and patterned paper.  The sentiment is from the This Birthday Piggy stamp set and it is stamped on a banner from the All That dies.  Can you see the itty bitty heart?  This little heart is from the oval hearts frame surrounding the piggy image.  The oval hearts frame, the Granny Apple Green oval frame and the Basic White oval (the birthday piggy) were all die cut using the Framed Florets dies.  Love how they coordinate and love the little hearts.  The Framed Florets dies are available to purchase now and will be officially debuting January in the 2023 mini catalog.  There are more coordinating items including the Framed Florets stamp set  (purchase the bundle and save 10% 162407), the Framed & Festive stamp set (available while supplies last), Fitting Florets DSP (available while supplies last), and the Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls (available while supplies last)

The image was colored using a variety of Stampin' Blends.  The colors used-Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight.  The bright and cheery striped patterned paper is from the Celebrate Everything DSP.  The Celebrate Everything DSP is a Stampin' Reward choice found in the 2022 July-December Mini Catalog.

Hello Harvest and the Fitting Florets DSP

It has been a rough few days here on the blog.  I know photos have been loading slowly and there are lots of broken links/pictures.  Typepad (the blogging platform I use) is working on it and hopefully all will be fixed soon.

Today is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week the challenge is a color combination.

CCMC740

Look familiar?  It is the same palette I used for last week sketch challenge.  In fact I am using the same paper from the Fitting Florets DSP.

HelloHarvest-FittingFlorets-CCMC2

The layout is also similar except I used the one of the oval frames from the Framed Florets dies instead of circles.  The Balmy Blue pumpkin and pretty flowers are from the Hello Harvest bundle and colored using Stampin' Blends.   I think this cheery color combination makes the pumpkin image more of a year round one vs just for the fall.  What do you think?

The little banner is from the Stylish Shapes dies.  The sentiment is from the Through It Together stamp set.  This stamp set has 21 little sentiments which are full of good thoughts and encouragement.  I reach for it often.   The little Night of Navy gem is from the Solid Faceted Gems.  The gems come in 6 colors-Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Melon Mambo, Pool Party and Mossy Meadow. There are 30 gems in each color, 15 of each in 2 sizes.  The Polished Pink ribbon is the 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon and it is one of my favorite ribbons.  I love the colors it comes in (2021-23 In Colors) and it is so easy to tie a bow.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie & Mary design team made for the challenge,

Sharon

Framed Florets and the Fitting Florets DSP

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  The challenge alternates between a color and a sketch and this week it is a sketch challenge.

CCMC739

Last week I shared with you a card using the Framed Florets bundle.  I wanted to share another one using the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper.  This pack of paper along with the other products in the Fitting Florets Collection will become available starting November 1st.  The Fitting Florets DSP will  only be available while supplies last.  I predict it will go fast.

FramedFlorets-CCMC

I started with a 4-1/4" x 11" Balmy Blue CS.  I love this color combination of Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Polished Pink!  In the past Balmy Blue was a color I never used much but this color combo has changed that.  I was pretty faithful to the sketch and used both the Layering Circles and Stylish Shapes dies to cut the circles.  The floral image was colored using Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, and Polished Pink Stampin' Blends.   I stamped the sentiment by carefully inking up one line at a time and cutting each out using the Sending Dies.  The little Polished Pink gems are from the 2021-23 In Color Opal Rounds.

FramedFlorets-CCMC-side

Inside I added a left over strip of the Fitting Florets DSP and another flower from the Framed Florets stamp set.  I know I mentioned this before but the stamp set and the dies have the same name!! I love that I only have to remember one name.  It is a little thing but helpful one.

Thanks for stopping by and remember the Fitting Florets Collection will be available Nov. 1,

Framed Florets Birthday

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a super fun color challenge.

CCMC738

You know I love a Black, White, Gray with a pop of color palette.  I chose for my two colors Poppy Parade and Old Olive.

FramedFlorets-bday-CCMC

Are you wondering where that sentiment and images are from?  They are part of an early release that will be available for purchase in November.  It is the Framed Florets bundle.  This bundle will also be in the upcoming 2023 January-June Mini Catalog.  In November there will additional items available which make up the Fitting Florets Collection.  I will share more about the whole collection soon.

The flowers from the Framed Florets stamp set were colored using Poppy Parade and Old Olive Stampin' Blends and cut using the Framed Florets dies.   Did you notice?  The dies are named the same as the stamp set!  I am so happy about this change.  No more having to remember the name of the stamp set and also the name of the coordinating dies.

The oval frame (cut using the Framed Florets dies) has embossed details around the edge.  So cool!  There also is another oval frame in the die set that is a little more ornate and I can see a lot of layering of ovals on my future cards.

  • Basic Black card base is 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2".
  • Basic White layer is 4-1/8" x 5-3/8".
  • Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Paper is 4" x 5-1/4".

This is the first time I am using the Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Paper.  Isn't it beautiful?  I am looking forward to using the other colors in the pack, Evening Evergreen and Cajun Craze/Pumpkin Pie.

FramedFlorets-bday-CCMCside

Inside I added a strip of the Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Paper and another bloom from the Framed Florets set.  If you would like to learn how to get the Framed Florets bundle and the rest of the Fitting Florets suite early, please  contact me and we can chat about the different options available to you.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what colors the rest of the Create with Connie & Mary Design team chose for this week's challenge,
