Cheerful Daisies Brightest Birthdays

Yes, this week is the Fresh As a Daisy week!  Love this suite of products.  I cannot remember when I have made as many cards from a suite before and I am still continuing to make more projects.  I think I will have to have highlight this suite again in another month.

One of the reasons I am sharing this suite now is I want to be sure you know about the Creativity Abounds Fresh As a Daisy stamp camp.  The Creativity Abounds Design Team is an international group of 13 Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  We do a monthly blog hop, a monthly tutorial bundle and 3 times a year we hold a stamp camp.

The Fresh As a Daisy Stamp Camp will be held on July 7th and 8th.  To register all you need to do is purchase the Fresh as a Daisy Suite (161301) and the 2023-25 In Color Jute Trim (161637) and use the Host Code 7W94CTHJ.  If you already own the Suite and the 2023-25 In Color Jute Trim, simply order $81.50 worth of products from my online store and use the Host Code 7W94CTHJ. It is important to use the Host Code, it lets me know you want to participate in the stamp camp.

You will receive 13 kits which will include all the cardstock pieces necessary to make the projects.  You will use your own DSP, stamps, dies and embellishments.   Both a written and video tutorial will be provided for you for each project.

In addition to the 13 projects you will be invited to join a private Facebook group for the camp.  On July 7th & 8th each design team member will present another project using the Fresh As a Daisy Suite.  These lives will be spread out over the 2 days but they will be recorded so you can watch them when it is convenient for you.

CheerfulDaisy_BrightestBirthday

This project uses the Cheerful Daisies bundle and the Fresh As a Daisy DSP.  The card base is Garden Green CS, 5-1/2" x  8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4".  The pretty daisies are on a Lemon Lolly Scalloped Contours die which was also embossed using the 3D Basics Embossing folders (Online Exclusive).  The centers of the daisies were colored with a sponge dauber and Lemon Lolly ink.  Love that Lemon Lolly color, it is the yellow we needed.   The leaves were colored in Garden Green ink also using a sponge dauber.  The DSP strip is  1-1/2" x 4" .   Remember to wrap the white Baker's twine around the Basic White layer before adhering it to the Garden Green card base.   The sentiment is from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set inked in Garden Green ink.  A few silver pearls from the Festive Pearls was added for some shine.

CheerfulDaisies_BrightestBirthday_inside

Inside I added a leftover strip of DSP.  It wasn't long enough to along the bottom so I added it along the side.  I had a leftover flower made using the Paper Florist dies so I added it to decorate the inside of the card.

I hope you will join me and the rest of the Creativity Abounds team for the Fresh As a Daisy stamp camp!  It is going to be a fun and creative time!

Fresh As a Daisy Thanks

Today I am sharing with you an easy card to make and great for using strips of DSP.  I am using the Fresh As a Daisy DSP along with the Paper Florist dies.

FreshAsADaisy_PaperFlorist_thanks

One of the features of the Fresh As a Daisy DSP is that it features all of the 2023-25 In Colors.  On one side of  the papers there are beautiful florals and the other a watercolor wash design in each of the In Colors.    Here I used the Wild Wheat wash and stamped a sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set.  Wild Wheat seems to be a color you either really like or don't.  I am still trying to figure it out and how to use it.  I do like Wild Wheat paired with the Early Espresso cardstock and ink.  For now a little bit of Wild Wheat goes a long way.

The flower was made using the Paper Florist dies.  These dies are standalone dies, meaning they are not paired with any stamp set.  These are going to be so much fun to play with and I am looking forward to doing that soon.   On this card I simply stacked the four petals and did a little daubing of Lemon Lolly in the center of the top flower.   I added a the centers in Early Espresso and Lemon Lolly.  This flower reminds me of plumerias aka frangipani.  We had a tree in the yard of my childhood home and made many leis with the blooms.

**Edited**Here are the measurements for the Early Espresso and DSP strips.

  • Early Espresso CS-3-1/2" x 4-1/2"
  • DSP strips 1" x 4-1/4"

FreshAsADaisy_PaperFlorist_thanksin

Inside of the card I added another strip of DSP with a tiny layer of Early Espresso and another Paper Florist flower.  I forgot to mention that I added a lot of Wink of Stella to the Lemon Lolly flower centers and they are so very pretty.

Circle Saying Wave Easel Card

Ready for another Festive Friday challenge?   What is the Festive Friday challenge?  The Festive Friday challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is inspired by a holiday/festivity.  An Inspo list of 10 items is created using the festivity as its inspiration.  To play in the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project and enter it in the Festive Friday gallery.  We love seeing what you choose from the Inspo list and look forward to seeing what you create.

FF135

I used from the Inspo List  blue, masculine, and plaid/checks.  Something else exciting is that the Festive Friday Challenge is teaming up with Double Trouble Challenge,  entering both challenges gives you double the chance of winning.

Their Thing 1 challenge is to create a masculine card. Their Thing 2 challenge is to enter our Festive Friday Challenge. Their Thing 3 challenge is to include a plaid/checker. Here's the link to enter their challenge.  Double Trouble Challenge Blog: https://doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com/

How fun!  I am looking forward to seeing what you create for the challenges!

CircleSayings_Waves_easelflat

I used the returning color Blueberry Bushel for the blue.  Love this color!  The plaid/check is from the Glorious Gingham 6" x 6" DSP.  In this pack of paper there are the 2 designs shown above in Blueberry Bushel, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Pecan Pie, and Pretty Peacock.

The image is from the Circle Sayings stamp set.   The image was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink.  I used a Blender pen to pull some color from the image to color the waves.  I used a Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil from  Assortment 1 to color in the sun.   Very easy coloring.  The image was cut out using a circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set and layered using the 2-3/8" circle punch.  The punch can be purchased by itself or bundled with the Circle Sayings set.  When you purchase it as a bundle you save 10%.

The Blueberry Bushel dots are from the Tinsel Gems Four-Pack.  In addition to Blueberry Bushel there are dots in Berry Burst, Pretty Peacock and Lemon Lime Twist.  The coordinate beautifully with the Glorious Gingham DSP.

CircleSayings_Waves_Easel

This is an easel card.  The stopper for the easel is a banner die cut from the Stylish Shapes dies.  The sentiment is from the Circle Saying set.  I like doing fun folds for masculine cards.  It creates a cleaner, simpler looking card.

CircleSayings_Waves_easelside

**EDITED- The easel mechanism measures 2-7/8" x 3-3/4" scored at 1-3/4" and  3-1/2".

I will be entering this card in the Double Trouble challenge.  I hope you will join in the fun and play in both challenges too!

Be sure to check out what the Festive Friday design team created for the #FF00135.

Circle Sayings and the Zoo Crew DSP

It is Thursday which means it is time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC768

You might have noticed that I have been featuring the Circle Sayings bundle this week.  It has been fun and challenging picking one set/bundle to focus on.  My hope is that it shows the versatility of the featured items and that it insures I am using all the stamps I purchase.  No more un-inked stamps!

CircleSayings_ZooCrewDSP

  • Petal Pink card base - 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2".
  • Calypso Coral layer-4" x 5-1/4".
  • Zoo Crew layer 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" colored using Petal Pink and Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends.
  • Petal Pink Stylish Shapes banner die.
  • Calyspo Coral Stylish Shapes circle die.
  • Basic White 2-3/8" Circle punch (part of the Circle Sayings bundle).
  • Shell and starfish image stamped twice in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Smile stamped in the center.
  • Shells and starfish colored with Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends.

CircleSayings_ZooCrewDSP_inside

  • Circle Sayings sentiment (my favorite!) stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • Shells and starfish colored with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut.
  • Strip of Zoo Crew DSP colored with Stampin' Blends.

This color combination is definitely not one I would have picked out myself but it definitely works.  I do like how the shells/starfish look colored with this combination.   I will tell you that it is still hard to cut into the Zoo Crew DSP and not use those adorable animals but I think it was worth it.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge.

Circle Sayings Rainbows & Sunshine

It is going to be a beautiful day full of sunshine and blue skies.  Whether it is sunny where you are or not, here is a little sunshine for you!

CircleSayings_Sunshine

Love this image from the Circle Sayings stamp set.    I knew I wanted to combine it with the Rays of Light stamp, they work so well  together.  The Rays of Light stamp is a large background stamp and here it is stamped in Lemon Lolly ink.  I used Azure Afternoon Stampin' Blends to color the waves and Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends for the sun.  Around the sun I also added Lemon Lolly ink with a sponge dauber.   If you are thinking that parts of the wave look a little creamy (cannot think of another descriptor), it is because I added a little bit of White Craft ink around the curl and wave.

I just recently received the Just My Type stamp set and thought one of  the sentiments would be perfect for this card.  I carefully inked up 2/3 of the sentiment in Azure Afternoon ink and added it.   Isn't this a perfect sentiment?

CircleSayings_Sunshine-Inside

On the inside I inked up the last part of the sentiment and also added the rainbow from the Just My Type set.  In addition to Lemon Lolly I used  Pumpkin Pie and Real Red Stampin' Blends to color the rainbow.

Stampin' Up! Circle Sayings Celebrate

The Circle Sayings bundle is a wonderful new addition to my craft room.  It is a great all occasion set with both images and sentiments.  There are 14 photopolymer stamps in this set and a 2-3/8" circle punch to make it a bundle.  This stamp set was inspired by Jessica Taylor and is her Million Dollar Sales Achiever set.   Congratulations Jessica!

Today's card features 4 of the stamps in the set and also the 2-3/8" Circle punch.

CircleSayings_Celebrate_Flirty

In addition to the Circle Sayings bundle I used the  Flirty Flamingo dots pattern which is part of the  6" x 6" Brights DSP   pack.  The cupcake liner paper is also one of the patterns from the 6" x 6" DSP paper pack.  The image was stamped on the DSP and then fussy cut out.

Tip:   This tip is useful when you are fussy cutting to do paper piecing.  After I am done fussy cutting I will use the brush end of a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and go around the edges.  This erases any white spots and gives the image a finished look.

The cupcake was colored using the Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends and the frosting with the Flirty Flamingo Blends.  The frosting has a shimmer to it from a liberal application of Wink of Stella.  There is also a Iridescent Rhinestone Gem.

CircleSayings_Celebrate_Flirty_Close

The image was punched out using the 2-3/8" Circle punch and the Flirty Flamingo layer is from the Stylish Shapes dies.  I wanted a little bit of something else so I added some White Baker's Twine.

CircleSayings_Celebrate_Flirty_inside

Inside there is a strip of DSP-love those polka dots!  I also duplicated the cupcake from the front and fussy cut it out.  The sentiment and the "shine" accents are both from the stamp set.

Sweetest Cherries Friend

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week we have a sketch challenge.  I had a lot of fun with this sketch.

CCMC767

When I saw the sketch I thought of the Sweetest Cherries set.  It is springtime and soon it will be cherry season, YUM!

SweetestCherries_notecard

I used a Basic White Note Card for the card base.  These note cards come with envelopes and there are 20 of them in a pack. They are a great deal and perfect for quick card making.  The biggest question...are they mailable?  Yes, they are!  These note cards also come in Very Vanilla.  You can also get them in Kraft  card stock and those also come with a coordinating box.

The cherries were stamped in Real Red ink and punched out using the Cherry Builder punch.  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive ink with Pecan Pie veins and the stems are Pecan Pie ink on Pecan Pie CS.  Both the stems and the leaves were punched out using the Cherry Builder punch.

The sketch has 2 strips so I used the Brights 6" x 6" DSP in Daffodil Delight.  I had a few strips leftover from another project and they made the perfect accents.  I added a few Pecan Pie Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems to the ends of the strips.

I stamped "friend" in Pecan Pie ink and fussy cut it out.  This is the rectangle in the sketch.

SweetestCherries_notecard_inside

I had another little Daffodil Delight strip so I added it to the inside of the card along with another cherry.  This is a cute and easy card to make with very minimal cutting.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team created for the challenge and thank you for stopping by!

Creativity Abounds Blog Hop...2023-25 In Colors

125873640_10157240611041642_4807947291545357817_o

Welcome to the Creativity Abounds Blog Hop!  We are an international group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators.  We hop together on the third Wednesday of every month.  Our hops focus around a particular bundle, holiday, occasion or product suite.  This month we are focusing on sharing projects using the 2023-25 In Colors.

Every month we also create a tutorial bundle. The tutorial bundle is available as a gift with a qualifying purchase or can also be purchased.   We also have a stamp camp 3 times a year.  The next camp will be on July 7th and 8th and will feature the Fresh as a Daisy Suite.  You will receive 13 make and takes, access to a private Facebook group and 2 days of even more ideas using the Suite.  All you will need to do is purchase the Fresh As A Daisy Suite and the 2023-24 In Color Jute using this Host Code 7W94CTHJ.   If you already own the suite and the In Color Jute, simply order $81.50 in product from my online store and use the Host Code.  If your order is $150 or more do not use the host code, instead email me that you want to be a part of the Fresh As A Daisy stamp camp.

CA team

The Fresh As a Daisy DSP is full of the 2023-25 In Colors.   One of the papers looks like a patchwork.  There are 10 designs and I am using the one in the middle which uses Boho Blue and Copper Clay together.

DarlingDetails_FreshAsADaisyDSP

The card base is Boho Blue CS 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 2-3/4", 4-1/4", 7-1/4" and 8-1/2".  Are you a little confused?  Hold on it will become clear soon.  The Copper Clay CS layer measures 4" x  4" and the DSP measures 3-3/4" x 3-3/4".  The ribbon is the Boho Blue 3/8" Textured Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Darling Details stamp set inked in Copper Clay and punched out using the Double Oval punch.  The cute little gems on the oval are from the Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems.

DarlingDetails_FreshAsADaisyDSP-2

The second Copper Clay CS layer measures 3-1/2" x 4".  The Boho Blue layer is another pattern from the Fresh As A Daisy DSP and it measures 3-1/4" x 3-3/4".  The Basic White CS measures 2" x 3".

DarlingDetails_FreshAsADaisyDSP-3

The last Copper Clay CS layer measures 2-1/4" x 4".  The Basic White layer measures 2" x 3-3/4" and the strip of DSP is 3/8" x 3-3/4".  Instead of Basic White CS you could use a piece of DSP measuring 2" x 3-3/4".  I used the Basic White CS so there was a little more room to write a note.

I love that this card looks like it is just a regular card and then it unfolds to show the different panels.  Very fun and it shows off how pretty these 2 In Colors look together.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to let me know if you have any questions about this card and/ or the upcoming Fresh As A Daisy stamp camp!

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop...Returning Colors!

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who hop together on the 14th of every month.  This month our theme is to spotlight the returning Stampin' Up! colors.   In the new  2023-24 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog there was a Color Refresh.  In addition to the 5 new 2023-25 In Colors there were 11 colors added to the permanent Color Collection.  Some of these colors were "Returning" colors ( 7 past In Colors) and 4 were brand new colors.  This month we are sharing projects that highlight the Returning colors.  The Returning colors are Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, and Fresh Freesia.  I was  happy to see the return of Lemon Lime Twist and Blueberry Bushel, in fact so happy that I had to use them together for my card.

CircleSayings_Smile

It is a bright combination and I probably should have warned you to put on your sun glasses!   I do wonder if there is just too much going on with the two patterns and the bright colors but I like it.

  • Lemon Lime Twist card base 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2".
  • Glorious Gingham DSP (Blueberry Bushel) 4" x 5-1/4"  adhere to the card front.
  • Glorious Gingham DSP (Lemon Lime Twist ) 2" x 5-1/2" adhere to the card front.
  • Punch a Basic White CS with the  2-3/8" Circle punch.
  • Stamp in Blueberry Bushel ink the flowers from Circle Sayings stamp set (buy as a bundle to save 10%).
  • Stamp the flowers again to create a "wreath".
  • Color the leaves and flower centers with the Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends.
  • Stamp the sentiment in the center of the wreath in Lemon Lime Twist ink.
  • Die cut a Stylish Shape banner in Blueberry Bushel CS.
  • Adhere the banner to the card front.
  • Adhere the circle with Stampin' Dimensionals over the banner.
  • Attach a Lemon Lime Twist Tinsel Gems Four-Pack (these gems come in 4 of the Returning Colors) on the banner.

CircleSayings_Smile-inside

  • Stamp the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink.  I love this sentiment.
  • Stamp the rays (not sure what to call these but they look cool) in Lemon Lime Twist ink.
  • Attach a strip of Lemon Lime Twist CS 4" by 1/2" (really this was just a strip I had laying around and it can be any width) and attach it to a 3/4" x 4" strip of Glorious Gingham Blueberry Bushel DSP.

That is it except to write in it and send it off to someone who is awesome! Now it is time to check out what the rest of the team created!

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what is your favorite Returning Color/s!
