It is time for another Festive Friday challenge!   What is the Festive Friday challenge?  The Festive Friday challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is inspired by a holiday/festivity.  An Inspo list of 10 items is created using the festivity as its inspiration.  To play in the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project and enter it in the Festive Friday gallery.  We love seeing what you choose from the Inspo list and look forward to seeing what you create.

The only stamp set I could think of to use was Happy Hedgehogs.  In this adorable stamp set there is a toadstool image and the cutest little bird holding a flower.   I knew I could use toadstool, silver, sparkle, flower embellishment and pink from the Inspo List.

This is a very clean and simple card with lots of white space.  I used a Basic White note card.    Note cards are 5" x 3-1/2" and are mailable.   They come in a pack of 20 cards and envelopes for $8.00, a great deal!

I used Bubble Bath and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color the toadstool and the bird.  The flower was cut using a die from the Crafting With You dies.  I wanted to add some sparkle to the card so I cut the flower in Bubble Bath from the Soft Shimmer Paper Combo Pack.   In the center of each flower is a silver pearl from the Festive Pearls embellishments.  The sentiment is from the Darling Details stamp set.    

I stamped the toadstool and bird images on the envelope.  I inserted a piece of scrap paper inside of the envelope before coloring with the Stampin' Bends.  I did this to prevent ink bleed through to the back of the envelope.

It has been a bit since I posted.  I didn't know I was going to do it but I took a mini break.  Why?  It felt like I forgot how to stamp or at least stamp anything  I would want to share.   It seemed like everything I made was not good.  Was it really bad?   I am not sure, I just lost confidence which led to me overthinking things.  It was the opposite of flow.  I wanted to get over this feeling so I decided to focus on creating simple projects and let the stamps, dies, and paper do the work.  

This week the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge is a color challenge.

I tried a few different things and they were not good so I turned to the Gorgeous Garden dies to help me.  These are standalone dies which means they are not paired with a specific stamp set.  They are beautiful and  I used the leaf pattern before here.     

This was an easy way to use the colors for the challenge.   I cut the die in Moody Mauve CS and in Misty Moonlight CS.  At first I didn't have the Misty Moonlight flower centers.  I think the addition of them was the right decision.   They add a little more color and define the flowers.  The sentiment is from the Darling Details stamp set.   The circle is from the Stitched Shapes dies.  The 3  gems are from the Tinsel Gems Three-Pack.

I cut a strip of the Misty Moonlight CS to decorate the inside of the card.  Depending on where you cut the strip, you may have some loose pieces that you will need to adhere back into place.  I think this looks so elegant and really dresses up the inside of the card.

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  This week it is a sketch challenge and it is a great one!

This week I am focusing on the Fresh As a Daisy Suite.  I also wanted to use a bright cheery color so I chose Flirty Flamingo to go along with my white and yellow centered daisies. 

• The card base is Flirty Flamingo CS (card stock 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2"). 
• The first layer is Basic White CS (4" x 5-1/4")
• The Flirty Flamingo DSP (Designer Series Paper) is from the Brights 6" x 6" DSP (2-3/8" x  4-3/4")
• The 2 strips are Daffodil Delight CS  1/2" x  3-1/4".
• The Basic White rectangle is from the Nested Essentials dies.
• The Basic White Daisies and the Granny Apple Green leaves are cut using the Cheerful Daisies dies.
• The daisy centers were colored using a sponge dauber and Daffodil Delight ink.
• The sentiment is from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set inked using a Memento Tuxedo Black pad.

Inside I added another daisy and some Granny Apple Green greenery.  The strip of polka dot DSP is another pattern in the 6" x 6" Brights DSP pack.

The Creativity Abounds Design Team is an international group of 13 Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  We do a monthly blog hop, a monthly tutorial bundle and 3 times a year we hold a stamp camp.

You will receive 13 kits which will include all the cardstock pieces necessary to make the projects.  You will use your own DSP, stamps, dies and embellishments.   Both a written and video tutorial will be provided for you for each project. 

In addition to the 13 projects you will be invited to join a private Facebook group for the camp.  On July 7th & 8th each design team member will present another project using the Fresh As a Daisy Suite.  These lives will be spread out over the 2 days but they will be recorded so you can watch them when it is convenient for you.
