Darling Details in Coastal Cabana

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This is the last week of the CASE the Catalog challenge.  The project we are CASEing can be found on page 81 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

CASE

Such a cute sample to CASE.  I chose to CASE the layout but I also thought about CASEing the colors.

DarlingDetails_Coastal Cabana

I used the Darling Details bundle for my card.  I think the frames in the bundle are very  pretty so I had to use it on my card.  The colors I used are Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, and Old Olive.  The flowers except for the tiny Lemon Lolly CS flowers are all from the Daring Details bundle.  The tiny Lemon Lolly flowers were cut using the Crafting With You dies.

The tag was cut using the Nested Essentials die.  The DSP is the Brights 6" x 6" DSP.  The ribbon is Pool Party 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon,  The centers of the flowers are Iridescent Pearls.   The embossing on the strip of Coastal Cabana was done using the 3D Basic Embossing Folder which is an Online Exclusive.

Gorgeously Made Congrats

Ready for another Festive Friday challenge?   What is the Festive Friday challenge?  The Festive Friday challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is inspired by a holiday/festivity.  An Inspo list of 10 items is created using the festivity as its inspiration.  To play in the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project and enter it in the Festive Friday gallery.  We love seeing what you choose from the Inspo list and look forward to seeing what you create.

FF-7:21

What a fun Inspo List.  I chose Brown, Gold, and a Cheers sentiment from the list.

GorgeouslyMade_PhrasesForAll

The card base is Early Espresso (my brown) and the gold layer is the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.  The next brown is a new Core Color, Pecan Pie.  I did a little light stamping to create a background using Pecan Pie ink and a stamp from the Gorgeously Made set.   The beautiful branch of leaves were cut in Distressed Gold paper with a die from the Gorgeously Made bundle.

The sentiment is from the Phrases for All stamp set.  Isn't it a fun one?  This would be a great one to use to tie on some sparkling wine or champagne.

GorgeouslyMade_Congrats_inside

Inside  is another sentiment from the Phrases for All set.  This is another one that I know I will use often.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the creations made by the Festive Friday design team.  We look forward to seeing what you create from the Inspo List.

So Refreshing and Circle Sayings

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This month we are CASEing the catalog.  Every week a sample is chosen to act as inspiration.

CCMC776

We can use the layout, color scheme, really anyway that the chosen sample inspires you.  I chose to CASE the layout.  I think that is what most of us choose.

SoRefreshing_DelightfullyEclectic_front

I have been wanting to use this pattern from the Delightfully Eclectic DSP with the So Refreshing bundle.  The strawberry die cuts just match up so well with the paper.  Doesn't it look delicious?

I substituted a banner from the Stylish Shapes dies instead of a circle.  I just couldn't get a circle to work.  The sentiment is from the Circle Sayings stamp set.  The other difference is instead of having 2 strips of DSP, I substituted the flower bouquet for one of the strips.  The large circle is from the Give It a Whirl dies.

SoRefreshing_DeightfullyEclectic_inside

Inside another bouquet and a strip of the DSP.  I think the little strawberries are so cut I do not want to waste any of the DSP.

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop...Garden Flowers

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who get together on the 14th of every month to do this blog hop.  This month our theme is Garden Flowers.  What a fun theme!  Who doesn't love a pretty flower set?

I don't really have much of a green thumb, in fact I have now decided that cactus and succulents are my best options.  I have so far been able to keep them alive.  Yay!  I do love playing with my flower sets and dies.  Currently I am having so much fun with the Paper Florist dies.  The last few projects I shared HERE and HERE were well you might say exuberant with blooms.  Today I am going to show some restraint!

PaperFlorist_GorgeousGingham_friend

A lovely bouquet of flowers can be made with just a few flowers and leaves.  The flowers were cut in Melon Mambo cardstock and the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist.  The card base is Lemon Lime Twist cut 4-1/4" x 11".  The Lemon Lime Twist gingham is from the Glorious Gingham DSP.  I did cut the Basic White piece with the Basic Borders die and embossed it with the 3D Basics Embossing folder.  The tiny sentiment is from the Love For You stamp set cut out using a die from the All That dies.   The center of the. flower is a Melon Mambo Glossy Dot.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to hop all around!

ICS Blog Hop...the New Core Colors!

ICS header

Welcome to the Inspire Create  Share Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators and we hop together on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.  We have a monthly theme for the hop and this month it is the new Core Colors.  Every few years Stampin' Up! does a Color Refresh and this is the year.  There were 4 new colors introduced: Lemon Lolly, Bubble Bath, Azure Afternoon and Pecan Pie.   Fresh Freesia was an In Color that stayed in the Color Collection and these previous in-colors were brought back: Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Blueberry Bushel, and Pretty Peacock.  I love the new colors and am having fun learning new color combinations.

CheerfulDaisies_GloriousGingham

Blueberry Bushel and Lemon Lolly, oh my!   When I saw the Blueberry Bushel gingham in the Glorious Gingham DSP pack it made me think of a summer dress and I knew it needed some eyelet...enter the Darling Details dies.  I used the Darling Details dies for the trim on either side of the gingham.  What could be more summery than daisies?  I used the Cheerful Daisies dies and cut out the large die (with 3 daisies) two times.  The daisies were cut apart  and the centers colored with Lemon Lolly ink.  The sentiment is from the Cheerful Daisies set stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink and cut out using the label die in the Cheerful Daisies dies.  The finishing touch were a few Lemon Lolly Adhesive Backed Solid Gems.

CheerfulDaisies_GloriousGingham_Inside

Inside of the card is another strip of Blueberry Bushel Glorious Gingham DSP and one of the remaining daisies.  There is one more daisy roaming around my desk that will be used on another card.

Now it is time for you to check out what the talented Debbi Green has made with the new Core Colors!

Around the World on Wednesday...CAS(e) a Team Member Tag!

AWOW banner

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop!  We are a group of international Stampin' Up!® demonstrators who have gathered together for a monthly blog hop.  The blog hop goes live on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

Group pic 1:2022

This month we have a very fun theme...we are CASEing another Around the World on Wednesday team member and we are also teaming up with an AWOW Team member.  I was teamed up with Rochelle Laird-Smith!  Rochelle is from Australia.  We were able to Zoom together and figure out who we were going to CASE.  So much fun!  It was such a treat to connect with Rochelle.  We decided to CASE the mighty leader of the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop, Angie Mckenzie!  We looked at her blog, Nature's INKspirations and picked out a project that would serve as our inspiration and CASE.  Let me tell you that it wasn't easy.  Angie is a very talented stamper and her blog is indeed filled with INKspiration.

ANGIE-Case

This is the card  from Angie's blog we chose as inspiration.  We also agreed to use the color Lemon Lolly in both of our cards.

PaperFlorist_GorgeouslyMade

I followed the general layout of Angie's card.  Instead of leaves I used the flowers and leaves from the Paper Florist dies.    I also used the Gorgeously Made dies for the sentiment and the border just like Angie's original card.  The colors I used: Gorgeous Grape, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly, Basic Black, and Granny Apple Green.  The sentiment is  from the Gorgeously Made stamp set.

PaperFlorist_GorgeouslyMade_Inside

Inside of the card I added another Gorgeously Made border and a Lemon Lolly flower.

PaperFlorist_GorgeouslyMade_side

What a wonderful challenge!  Thank you to both Angie and Rochelle for making this such a fun experience and challenge!

Now it is time for you to hop on over to see what the talented  Chris Smith created.

Paper Florist Dies

This past Friday and Saturday was the Creativity Abounds Fresh As A Daisy stamp camp.  It was an amazing event.  There were lots of projects shared , make and take kits, challenges and more!  You really need to join us at the next stamp camp.  The date has been tentatively set for October 20 & 21.  We will be announcing the Suite we will be focusing on later in the month, once we get a look at the next mini catalog.   If you are interested let me know and I will be sending out more information.

We have challenges and we share our projects in the camp's private Facebook group.  It is so fun to see how everyone interprets the challenge.  So many fun ideas.  This is a card I made for one of the challenges.

PaperFlorist_CAPicChallenge

I used the Paper Florist Dies to cut out all the flowers and leaves.  The colors are Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Parakeet Party.  I cut some rounded rectangles using the Nested Essentials.  The rectangles were embossed using one of the 3D Basic Essential Embossing folders.  I also added a few Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.

PaperFlorist_CAPicChallenge_inside

The inside was decorated with another flower in Poppy Parade, Basic Black, and Parakeet Party.

Horse & Sleigh

Ready for another Festive Friday challenge?   What is the Festive Friday challenge?  The Festive Friday challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is inspired by a holiday/festivity.  An Inspo list of 10 items is created using the festivity as its inspiration.  To play in the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project and enter it in the Festive Friday gallery.  We love seeing what you choose from the Inspo list and look forward to seeing what you create.

FF138

This was a tough list for me.  I finally decided on Copper, Vellum, and Animals.

Horse&Sleigh_OneHorseOpenSleighDSP

If you are wondering this stamp set and dies, Horse and Sleigh are from a new Online Exclusive release.  This release went live on July 6th.  The beautiful DSP is called One Horse Open Sleigh.  If you love scenery then be sure to check out this pack of paper.  It is SO good.

Horse&Sleigh_OneHorseOpenSleighDSP_side

The card base is Misty Moonlight, 5-1/2" x  8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4".   The DSP was cut 4" x 5-1/4" and the vellum 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".   I like how the vellum added some mistiness  to the scene. It made it look like it was foggy or snowing out.  The horse and sleigh were stamped using Misty Moonlight ink and colored with Stampin' Blends in  Real Red, Misty Moonlight, Granny Apple Green, and Smoky Slate.   The sentiment is also from the Horse & Sleigh stamp set and heat embossed with White embossing powder.

When I made my card I thought that it was animal not animals.  So I am counting the people riding in the sleigh as animals in addition to the horse.  After all we are the human animal.

Are you wondering where's the copper?  The snowflakes are copper!  This is another Online Exclusive called Adhesive-Backed Snowflake Assortment.  The snowflakes come in white, gold and copper.  There are 3 different sizes and 90 snowflakes in all.

Horse&Sleigh_OneHorseOpenSleighDSP_inside

I used a strip of the DSP for the inside of the card along with 2 more copper snowflakes.  These are the 2 larger sizes of the snowflake.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the Festive Friday Design team created.

Paper Florist & the So Refreshing Dies

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  July is the month that we CASE the Catalog.  The card we are CASE-ing this week can be found on page 39 of the 2023-24-Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

CCMC774-1

I chose to CASE the layout.  I did change a few things like the positioning of the main image and the sentiment.

PaperFlorist_SoRefreshing

I started off with a Lemon Lolly card base, 4-1/4" x 11".  The first layer on the card base is a piece of Vellum Cardstock, 3-1/4" x 4-3/4".  The next layer is Basic White CS, 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" embossed using the Basics 3D Embossing Folder (Online Exclusive).    The Flirty Flamingo pitcher was cut using the So Refreshing Dies and decorated with some Basic White flowers cut using the Paper Florist dies.  The rest of the flowers and leaves were cut from the Paper Florist dies in Granny Apple Green, (leaves), Lemon Lolly, and Flirty Flamingo.  The sentiment is from the Darling Details set inked with Flirty Flamingo ink on Lemon Lolly CS.  The little dot is from the Loose Frosted Dots  (Online Exclusive) item.

PaperFlorist_SoRefreshingDies_inside

Inside of the card I added another flower and leaf along with a Lemon Lolly CS strip.  Just a simple little addition dresses up the card.  This card can be used for lots of different occasions so I will wait to stamp a sentiment inside.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie & Mary design team created for this week's CASE the Catalog challenge.
