This month we were challenged to show our love (since it is Valentine's Day!) for our favorite technique.  Oh my!  Our leader, Angie always finds a way to challenge us.  Lots of techniques come to mind but it is very hard for me to decide what my favorite would be.  So instead I am choosing a technique I could use with a new bundle that I was itching to play with.

I chose to do some ink blending.   The colors I used for the ink blending -Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Cajun Craze.   I used  Blending Brushes to apply and blend the colors.  It is so satisfying to see the colors fade and blend together.

The square opening was cut using one of the Stylish Shapes die.   I decided I wanted more texture so I embossed the Basic Black cardstock with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder.  To my eye the flowers on the embossing folder remind me of magnolias.

I have always liked the look of a black silhouette against a ink blended background.  When I saw this beautiful magnolia die cut I knew it was what I would use for the silhouette.   It is hard to capture but the entire die cut is covered with Wink of Stella.  It adds some shine and emphasis to the magnolia.

The die is from an Online Exclusive that will be available for purchase starting March 5th .  Demonstrators were able to pre-order the Online Exclusives in February. The bundle is Magnolia Mood.   It is a beautiful bundle.

Inside is one of the sentiments from the Magnolia Mood stamp set.  Love the combination of the two fonts.   The small magnolia image is also from the stamp set.

The rhinestones on the ink blended background were colored using Basic Black Stampin' Blends.  It is always a good to remember to use Stampin' Blends to  custom  color embellishments.

Now it is time for you to check out what technique is Chris Smith's favorite!
