It is Thursday which means it is time for a new Create with Stamping Friends Challenge.  This week the challenge is a sketch and will be up for two weeks instead of the usual one week.

I wrestled with what to make with this sketch.  I tried lots of different ideas and then finally came up with this card.  Seems so simple now, though it was a journey.

• Real Red CS card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".
• Basic White CS layer 4" x 5-1/4" embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder.
• 1/2" x 3" strips of Take a Bow DSP.
• Merry from the Peaceful Season stamp set inked in Real Red ink.
• Christmas die cut from the Peaceful Season dies cut in Cherry Cobbler Glimmer Paper from the Festive Glimmer Paper pack.
• Punches of Cherry Cobbler Glimmer Paper (make this postal friendly) as an added touch of shine.

• Basic White CS layer 4" x 5-1/4".
• 3/4" x 5-1/4" strip of Take a Bow DSP.
• Sentiment from the Peaceful Season stamp set inked in Real Red ink.

In a recent Online Exclusive release I was excited to see the Happy Hibiscus bundle.  I grew up in Hawaii so you know I needed this new bundle.  The bundle is extra special since it also has an embossing folder, Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing folder.  

• Thick Basic White CS card base 4-1/4" x 11".
• Flirty Flamingo CS layer 4" x 5-1/4".
• Basic White CS layer 3-7/8" x  4-1/4" embossed using the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing folder.
• Old Olive leaves cut using the Happy Hibiscus dies.
• Flirty Flamingo CS stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink and the Happy Hibiscus stamps.  The Happy Hibiscus stamps are 2-step stamps.  The outline stamp was inked full strength and the lighter image was stamped off once before stamping on the CS.
• Congratulations sentiment from the Happy Hibiscus set inked in Flirty Flamingo.
• Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gem centers in each flower.

I liked how the card turned out so I decided to make it again in another color.  Which do you like better?

How are you doing on your Christmas cards?  I still have a little ways to go but I'm getting closer.  Here's one I am making on repeat.

It is easy to make and I do like the simplicity of it.

• Thick Basic White CS 4-1/4" x 11".
• Basic White CS 4" x 5-1/4"  embossed using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing folder.
• Pool Party ink applied using a Blending Brush.
• Birds and branch from the Nests of Winter DSP cut using the Winterly Tree Tops dies.
• Shaded Spruce CS cut using the Painted Lavender dies.  Trim down the sprigs to fit around the birds.
• Cherry Cobbler CS banner cut using the Hearts & Hugs dies.  The die is much longer than I needed so I trimmed off one end.
• Sentiment from the Hang An Ornament stamp set  (on the Last Chance list) inked with Versamark and embossed in white.
• Cherry Cobbler embellishments from the Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries (expected in stock 1/6).

One day I had some time in my craft room but was not feeling crafty so I decided to cut out the birds from the DSP.  I am so glad I did this, having all these birds ready to use makes it so easy to create with them.  

• Inside I added another Shaded Spruce sprig.
• A sentiment inked in Cherry Cobbler too.

• Sentimental Christmas DSP  2" x 5-3/8" (cut 2).  
• Pecan Pie CS cut with a Deckled Circle die (this is on the Last Chance list and listed as low inventory).
• Basic White CS cut with the Spotlight on Nature die.
• Pool Party Ink blended on Basic White circle using a Blending Brush.
• Sentiment from the Peaceful Season stamp set  (on the Last Chance list) inked in Pecan Pie ink.
• Nests of Winter DSP birds die cut using the WinterlyTree Tops dies.
• Pecan Pie CS circle snowflake from the One of A Kind stamp set inked in Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
• Rhinestone placed in the center of the snowflake.
• The embossed snowflake acts as a latch to keep the card closed.  

• Basic White CS 4" x 5-1/4".
• Sentiment from the One of A Kind stamp set in Pecan Pie ink.
• Strips of DSP from the Sentimental Christmas DSP.
• Basic White snowflake cut using the One of A Kind dies (on the Last Chance list priced at $11.70 and due back in stock the week of 12/7 &).
