Corner Bouquet & the Fine Art Floral DSP

Ready for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0077?  The Festive Friday Challenge picks a festivity and uses that festivity to create an Inspo List.  International Polar Bear Day is  on February 27 and it is the inspiration behind the Inspo List.  Your project doesn't have to feature a polar bear (but it can) but it does have to have 3 elements from the Inspo list.

I chose to use blue, vellum, acetate, and heat embossing for my project.

CornerBouquet-FF0077

Th card base is Vellum Cardstock and heat embossed using the Corner Bouquet stamp set and white embossing powder.  I do not use vellum as much as I used to and it was great to be reminded how pretty white embossing looks on vellum.  On the front I layered a design from the Golden Garden Specialty Acetate over a coordinating piece of Fine Art Floral DSP.   I used small dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue behind the gold foil designs on the acetate to attach it to the paper.  I did this to try and hide the adhesive.  The acetate and DSP are layered on a piece of Pool Party CS.  The Pool Party Sheer Ribbon is so pretty and also helps to secure the acetate to the DSP.

CornerBouquet-FF0077-side

Since the card base is vellum I had to line the inside front of the card to hide the adhesive from the front of the card from showing.   I also added a panel to the inside of the card so I could write a message.  I also lined the back of the card to hide the adhesive.  This makes the card quite substantial even though it is vellum, so it is not as delicate as it appears.

Measure of Love

This month the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge is CASEing the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  What does this mean?  A sample is selected and that project is what we us for the inspiration for our projects.  This week the sample we are CASEing is on page 100 of the catalog.

CCMC673

I was inspired by the layout of this card.  I used the Measure of Love stamp set, Pattern Party DSP, and the sentiment from the Sweet as a Peach set.

MeasureofLove-CCMC673

I started out by stamping the bowl of cherries and then fussy cutting them out.  I popped them up on the circles to make them the focal point.  The Pattern Party DSP is so bright and cheery.  This particular print just seems to go with the bowl of cherries.   Are you wondering about the ribbon?  I didn't have any Poppy Parade ribbon so I colored White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon with Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends.   It is always good to have some white or vanilla ribbon around to create a custom color.

Plentiful Plants

It is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This month the challenge is a little different, we are Casing the Catalog.  This week we are casing the card on page 52 of the 2021 Annual Catalog.

CCMC672

We are using this card  as the inspiration for our projects.  What catches your eye?  Is it the colors, the layout, the stamp set, or ?  Can I just say, aren't those babies adorable!  I do not have this stamp set (yet) so I used the  layout for my inspiration.

PlentifulPlants-CCMC672

Instead of using the Stitched Rectangles I used the Tailor Made Tags Dies for the base of the images.  The Tailor Made Dies are standalone dies meaning they do not have a coordinating stamp set since they can be used with lots of different stamp sets.   Both of the flower pots were stamped (Plentiful Plants)  and then cut out using the Perfect Plants die.   The hangers were cut out using the Perfect Plants die.  The plant on the left was cut from the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP.  This is one of the 9 packs of Designer Series Paper that is on sale through August 2.  The plant on the right was stamped and cut using the stamp and dies (Plentiful Plants bundle).

PlentifulPlants-CCMC672-side

All the tags were tied using the Crumb Cake Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.  I am quite pleased that we have a selection of Baker's Twine again.  The little Polished Pink flowers are from the Loose Flower Flourishes.  I attached them to the plant and the tag using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I wanted to add a little pop of color.

You can see that i decorated the inside of the card using a plant cut out from the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP.  This is another great pack of patterned paper with some images that can be cut using the Perfect Plants die and some great background designs like the bricks I used on this card.

Check out the links below for all the supplies I used on this card and thank you for stopping by.

Stitched Banner Birthday

I purchased the Stitched Triangles dies a few months ago and wait for it...never used them!   I hate it when  I do that.  I know I had lots of ideas on ways to use the dies which is why I purchased them but it wasn't until I had to make something for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0085 that I pulled them out.

Are you familiar with the Festive Friday Challenge? Every challenge has a festivity it is celebrating  and an Inspo list inspired by the festivity. The Inspo List is a 10 item list you can choose from to create your project.  Incorporate THREE of the items from the Inspo list in your project and post to the gallery. And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about National Flag Week, which is the theme for this challenge.

FF0085

I chose from the Inspo list stars, bright colors, and banner/flag die.

FF0085

I used the banner die from the Stitched Triangles die set and cut it in rainbow colors.  I used  Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, and Gorgeous Grape.  The little stars were cut out of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper.  The Real Red stitched scalloped borders were cut using the Penned Flowers dies.

FF0085-side

The sentiment is from the Sweet as a Peach set and stamped in Real Red ink.  Inside I added a few more stars cut from the Rainbow Glimmer paper.  Be sure to check out what the rest of the Festive Friday design team created.

Bloom Where You're Planted Suite

One of the first sets I purchased from the new 2021-22 Stampin' Up! catalog was Plentiful Plants, in fact I bought the Bloom Where You're Planted Suite which includes the Plentiful Plants bundle, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP, and the Paper Lattices.    There was just something about that bundle that resonated with me.  It was nostalgic to see the macrame plant hanger and it brought back memories of dorm rooms filled with plants.   This suite of products was perfect to use  for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0084 celebrating the festivity, National Gardening Week.

The Festive Friday Challenge has a  Inspo List which is inspired by a festivity.  Your project has to use at least 3 items from the Inspo List.  You do not have to follow the theme but you can.  You can check out the Festive Friday blog for all the information on how to play along with the Challenge.

FF0084

I chose plants, green, die-cuts, and flowers from the Inspo List.

PlentifulPlants-FF

I wanted to create a window scene so I started by cutting a frame using the In Good Taste DSP and 2 Stitched Rectangle dies.   I attached the Paper Lattice to the frame and backed it with a piece from the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP.  The frame and lattice were attached to the Early Espresso CS card base.  I "planted" my plants in Cajun Craze CS pots that were stamped using Early Espresso ink.  The plants were stamped on Just Jade CS in either Just Jade ink or Evening Evergreen ink.  Check out the shading on the pots, it is so good!

PlentifulPlants-FF-side

The Polished Pink flowers are from the Loose Flower Flourishes.  I attached them with dots of glue. The sentiment is also from the Plentiful Plants stamp set.  The label is from the Messages die.  Inside of the card I planted another pot of greenery.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Festive Friday Design team created for this challenge.

Party Puffins Birthday

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a sketch challenge.  When I saw this sketch I knew it was time to bring out the puffins!

CCMC663

I flipped the sketch so I could have the puffins and fish going in the right direction.

PartyPuffins-CCMC663

I think these puffins are so cute!  I wasn't going to get them but I finally gave in and ordered them.  I am so glad I did.  They are so fun and I needed some cute animals to fill the void left by the now retired Special Someone set ( remember the adorable raccoon and squirrel?). I used the Soft Succulent CS for the card base.  The DSP (Designer Series Paper) is the In Color 6" x 6".  I used Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent.  The strips are the 2021-23 In Color Shimmer Vellum in Polished Pink and Pale Papaya.   The puffin and the fish were colored using the 2021-23 In Color Stampin' Blends.

PartyPuffins-CCMC-side

I fussy cut the fish and the party hat.  Luckily they were pretty easy to cut out.  I had some mini pom poms so I added one to the top of his party hat.

PartyPuffins-CCMC-inside

This is the inside of the card.  Those cute little candles were stamped, colored and then fussy cut.  The  puffin's wings are positioned  perfectly for him to to be holding a candle.   All of the images for this card came from the Party Puffins stamp set.  I love that with one set you can do it all!

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created.

Dandy Wishes

It is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a color challenge.  I had a tough time with this challenge.

CCMC662

This combination reminds me of Fall and I will definitely keep it to use later in the year.

DandyWishes-CCMC662

I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut the panels in Crushed Curry CS.  The Dandy Wishes dies cut the plants in Cajun Craze and Soft Succulent (2021-23 In Color).  The Dandy Wishes dies has a few dies (this one being on of them) that there isn't a corresponding stamp in the Garden Wishes stamp set.

We now have Vanilla twine!  The Baker's Twine Essentials Pack has Crumb Cake and White twine (both of these have 10 yards each) and 5 yards each of Black, Gray Granite and Vanilla twine.  I am thrilled to have more Baker's Twine in the new catalog.

The sentiment is from the Many Messages stamp.  Instead of inking the entire stamp I just inked the sentiment I wanted and stamped it on Vanilla CS.  The sentiment was cut out using the Stitched Rectangle dies.

DandyWishes-CCMC662-side

I decorated the inside of the card with another die cut.  The pretty Soft Succulent gems  from the 2021-23 In Color Jewels were used to add a bit of sparkle to the front of the card.

Thank you for stopping by be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created with this color combination.

Pansy Petals Suite

It is time for a little sneak peek from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.  I used the Pansy Petals Suite Collection  which includes the Pansy Patch bundle, Pansy Petals DSP, and the Bumblebee trinkets.  I also used the 2021-23 In Color Shimmer Vellum in Fresh Freesia for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge, #CCMC661.  This week it is a sketch challenge and you will see that I followed the sketch pretty closely.

CCMC661

The main difference is I used my Layering Circles dies for the focal point.

PansyPatch-CCMC661

The card base is Evening Evergreen, one of the new In Colors.  It is a dark, rich green which coordinates beautifully with Soft Succulent, another new In Color.  The Pansy Petals DSP features all of the new In Colors and more.  Some of the images in the DSP can be cut out using the Pansy Dies.  The pansy on my card is one that was cut out from the DSP.  The flip side of the DSP features pretty ginghams, dots and stripes.

PansyPetals-CCMC661side

My photo fails to catch the shimmer in the vellum.  The vellum looks like it was painted with Wink of Stella.  A pretty, soft shimmer and the vellum comes in all the new In Colors.  The stitched scallop edging is from the Penned Flowers Dies, another new die in the upcoming catalog.   Love the detailed gold bumblebees.  I have it secured on the label with a glue dot.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you will check out what the rest of the design team created for the challenge.

Butterfly Brilliance

This week the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge is a Color Challenge.

CCMC660

Aren't these pretty spring colors?  Seaside Spray is one of the In Colors that are on the retiring list.  It is a color that I will miss.

ButterflyBrilliance-TrueLoveDSP

I cut a  1-3/4" x 5-1/2" strip of True Love Designer Series Paper.  I colored the center squares using So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo, Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends.  I used the light marker of the combo pack.  I love how this looks.  This pack of paper has lots of designs that look great when colored.  How I love a black and white paper!  I inked up the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set in Versamark ink and stamped a sheet of Vellum Cardstock, sprinkled the images using White Embossing Powder, and heat embossed using the Heat Tool.  The vellum butterflies were cut using the Brilliant Wings die.  I do have a few extra butterflies to use on another project.  I also used the Brilliant Wings die to cut out the butterflies in the colors of the challenge.

ButterflyBrilliance-TrueLoveDSP-side2

To finish the butterflies I used the Stampin' Blends to color a rhinestone in each of the challenge colors.  The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and it was inked in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Thank you for stopping by and I will list below all the supplies used to make this card.

Art Gallery & the Pansy Petal DSP

It is Thursday and you know what that mean! It is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a sketch challenge and it was a tough one for me.

CCMC659

I had just received my Stampin' Up! demonstrator pre-order and wanted to use something from that beautiful  box.  Being able to pre-order from the upcoming catalogs is such a great bonus given to Stampin' Up!  demonstrators.

ArtGallery-PansyPetalDSP

Are you wondering what is that lovely color...  Fresh Freesia!  Such a lovely spring time color.  The card base is Fresh Freesia and the 2 patterned paper designs are from the Pansy Petals DSP.   I like gingham and there are 3 different gingham sheets in the Pansy Petals DSP.  Makes me very happy to have some gingham back.

The flower is from the Art Gallery bundle.   The petals were stamped using Fresh Freesia, once at full strength and then stamped off.  The leaf and stem were stamped in Old Olive.

ArtGallery-PansyPetalDSP-side

The floral DSP was cut out using one of the new Scalloped Contours dies.  This die set features 5 different scalloped rectangle dies, a scalloped border die and 2 dies that coordinate with the Color & Contour stamp set.  This new die set is  another great basic and will be used a lot.  The gingham scalloped rectangle was cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created with this sketch.

Floral Essence and the Many Medallions

I am getting better about knowing what day of the week it is especially  Thursday.  Thursday is the one day I know there is something I need to have a project and blog post ready to go.  Why?  It is the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge day.   This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC658

I have been playing with stamp sets and dies that will soon be retiring.  My version of a farewell tour.  I have a lot that will be retiring so I probably won't get to all of them but I am trying.

FloralEssence-ManyMedallions

I used 4 things that will soon be retiring.  Can you name them?   For the flowers I used the Floral Essence stamp set  (it is on sale at 40% off!!) and the Perennial Flower punch ( on sale 60% off).    I inked the flowers in Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay ink on Basic White CS, punched them out and then used a Blender pen to color the petals.  I didn't use any additional ink just the ink that I stamped.  The third item I used that is retiring is the sentiment stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink  from Grace's Garden.   The final retiring item is the Many Medallion dies (on sale at 40% off).  I really do like this die and how it covers an A2 card front so well.

FloralEssence-ManyMedallions-side

I assembled another flower but didn't use it on the front, so I popped it on the inside of the card.  If you are wondering the ribbon is the Blackberry Bliss Striped ribbon from the 2020 Jan-June Mini catalog.  Love this ribbon.  It is one of my favorites and I only wish it came in more colors.

Hope you will check the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge out and see what the other members of the design team created with this color combination.  Thank you for stopping by!
