Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop! We are a group of international Stampin' Up!® demonstrators who have gathered together for a monthly blog hop. The blog hop goes live on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Join us and enjoy a hop around the world!
This month our mighty leader, Angie has a fun sketch challenge. I will admit I was a bit stumped with what to do with the sketch. Angie talked me through it (thanks Angie!) and I hope you can see the original sketch in my card.
What would you make with this sketch as inspiration? I will admit I got hung up on the triangle shape and could only think about a Christmas tree. Angie reassured me that it could be any shape and the card did not have to be square. I think these are pretty universal rules about sketch challenges but sometimes it is good to be reminded.
I used 2 Sale-A-Bration (this means they are free with qualifying purchases) choices for my card. The stamp set is the Detailed Dogwood and the paper is the Softly Stippled DSP. The sentiment is from the Stippled Roses stamp set in the 2024 January-April Mini catalog.
The dogwood blossoms were colored using Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, and Pool Party Stampin' Blends and yes, were fussy cut. The twine on the tag is from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim in Pebbled Path. I un-twisted the jute and tied a bow with just one strand of the jute. The tag was cut using a die from the Nested Essentials. Around the images I used the Iridescent Rhinestones to add a little sparkle.
How to create this card base. Start by scoring your cardstock in half both lengthwise and width wise. Cut the cardstock on the diagonal. You will have 2 card bases with this fold. I will share what I did with the other card base in another post.
Both flaps open or you could also secure one down for a pocket. I decorated the inside with a strip of Softly Stippled DSP and another flower from the Detailed Dogwood set. If this flower looks familiar it can be punched out using the Petal Park Builder Punch.
Now it is time to check out the next what the talented Chris Smith has created.
