Fun Fold

Simply Zinnia, Simply Sparkling

Ready for another Festive Friday challenge?   What is the Festive Friday challenge?  The Festive Friday challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is inspired by a holiday/festivity.  An Inspo list of 10 items is created using the festivity as its inspiration.  To play in the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project and enter it in the Festive Friday gallery.  We love seeing what you choose from the Inspo list and look forward to seeing what you create.

FF155

I chose from the Inspo list, yellow, pale blue, and easel card.

SimplyZinnia_SimplySparkling

I am starting my projects using the Flowering Zinnia Suite Collection a few days early.  I thought about using the can from the Simply Sparkling (Online Exclusive) as a vase and the zinnias were a perfect fit.  The can was stamped on the Daffodil Delight & White design from the Bee Mine DSP, and cut using the Simply Sparkling dies. The rim of the can was cut using the Holographic Trio Specialty Paper and the Simply Sparkling dies.   The zinnias were colored using Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Old Olive, and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.  The bow was made using the Balmy Blue & White Variegated ribbon. The circle and sentiment is from the Sending Love bundle.

SimplyZinniz_SimplySparkling_In

The inside of the card has another strip of Bee Mine DSP and a stem/leaf cut using the Simply Zinnia dies.  The flower was cut and colored like the ones on the front of the card.

SimplyZinnia_SimplySparkling_open

The single zinnia flower is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals along the bottom edge of the flower.  This allows the top part of the flower to act as a stopper and create the easel.

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop...Fun Folds

Banner

Don't you love the new banner for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop?  It is so happy and cheery!  We have new people joining the hop so be sure to give them a warm welcome.  This month the theme is Fun Folds.

LatteLove_SDBH

I am loving the new Latte Love bundle and it has been so fun creating with it this week.  The cups and mugs were cut from the A Little Latte DSP.  The coffee beans were inked in Early Espresso ink on Pecan Pie CS.  I used some of the Polka Dot Trim at the end of the label.  The trim is pretty thick  and somewhat stiff so it works best for me  as an accent.  Once again I reached for the Opaque Faceted Gems from Sale-A-Bration instead of the Adhesive-Backed Swirl Dots, which would have been so cute on this card.

LatteLove_SDBH_top

This fun fold is a combo between a book binding fun fold and a Z fold.   The scoring of the 4-1/4" x 11" card base is 2-1/8", 4-1/4" and 5-1/2".  The extra piece that makes the "Z" is 3-1/4" x 4-1/4".

LatteLove_SDBH_open

This is how the card opens . Inside I added a few more coffee beans like the ones on the front.

LatteLove_SDBH_flat

The sentiment is from the Sending Love stamp set.   We have been staying on St Simons Island, GA for the past couple of months.  I brought just a handful of stamps with me and no Stampin' Write Markers.   The only miss you sentiment I had with me was the one in the Sending Love stamp set.  The problem is that the I Miss You is in the center of a circle of other words.  Since I didn't have a marker with me I die cut a circle on a post it note and placed it over the other words around the I Miss You and carefully inked the words I wanted.   Next year I am going to make sure to bring a set that has a lot of sentiments.

Be sure to check out all the stops on the hop!

Softly Sophisticated & Sunny Days DSP

Just a few more sleeps and the 2024 Sale-A-Bration will be over.  I have been playing with these products for a couple of months and loving them.  I wanted to use one of my favorite patterns from the Sunny Days DSP and realized that the Softly Sophisticated stamp set flowers are similar.

SoftlySophisticated_SunnyDays_Funfold

What do you think?  Don't you think they look good together?  This fold is called a Pop Out Gatefold and it is quite a fun one to make.  It does require some precise cutting and scoring but it is not difficult.   All the stamped images are from the Softly Sophisticated bundle (Sale-A-Bration) and all the patterned paper is from the Sunny Days DSP.  I kept things simple since the fold is quite interesting.

The Softly Sophisticated stamp set is a 2-Step stamp.  I used  2 stamps to create the flower and leaves.  The flowers were inked in Poppy Parade and the leaves Shaded Spruce.

SoftlySophisticated_SunnyDays_top

This is what the card looks like from above.  In this view you can really see the fold.

SoftlySophisticated_SunnyDaysDSP_back

This is the back of the card.  Here you can see where you can write a little note.   The card folds up nicely and will fit in an A-2 envelope.

Creativity Abounds Blog Hop...Fun Folds

125873640_10157240611041642_4807947291545357817_o

Welcome to the Creativity Abounds Blog Hop!  We are an international group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators.  We hop together on the third Wednesday of every month.  Our hops focus around a particular bundle, holiday, occasion or product suite.  This month we are focusing on Fun Folds.

Every month we create a tutorial bundle. The tutorial bundle is available as a gift with a qualifying purchase  or can also be purchased.  We also have a stamp camp 3 times a year.  The next camp will be on June 14th & 15th.

1:24 team

The fun fold I am sharing is different than the one featured in the tutorial bundle.  This fun fold is a very quick and easy one and only requires a little bit of scoring.   It also features Designer Series Paper which I love to create with.  We are approaching the end of the 2024 Sale-A-Bration promotion.  The patterned papers that are available as  Free gifts during Sale-A-Bration are some of my favorite offerings.  I used some of the papers on my projects.

Flight&AiryDSP_FunFold_Front

This is the Flight & Airy DSP.  So pretty and perfect for springtime projects.  The sentiment is from another Sale-A-Bration choice,  Heartfelt Hellos.   The bird on the flowering branch was fussy cut from the DSP.

To create this fold start with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of cardstock.  Score at 2", 3-1/8", 5-3/8", and 6-1/2". The first score is a valley, then mountain, mountain and valley.

Flight&AiryDSP_FunFolds_top

This is a view from above the card.

Flight&AiryDSP_FunFold_Back

This is the back of the card where you can write a note.  The DSP for the 2 outer panels measure 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" and the center panel 2" x 5-1/4".  The Basic White panel measures 2" x 5-1/4".

TrustyTools_TrustyToolBoxDSP

This card features the Trusty Toolbox DSP (Sale-A-Bration free gift) which coordinates with the Trusty Tools bundle (2024 January -April Mini Catalog).   The 3 tools on the circle were cut from the DSP using the Trusty Tools dies.

TrustyTools_TrustyToolbox_back

Here's one last example of this fold and another Sale-A-Bration gift, Softly Stippled DSP.

StippledRoses_SoftlyStippledDSP

The Softly Stippled DSP (Sale-A-Bration gift) coordinates with the Stippled Roses bundle.  I colored the leaves with Wild Wheat and Old Olive Stampin' Blends and roses with Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends.   The beautiful sentiment is from another Sale-A-Bration choice,  Softly Spohisticated bundle.  The Calypso Coral gems are also a Sale-A-Bration choice,  Opaque Faceted Gems.

StippledRoses_SoftlyStippled_back

This fun fold stands up on its own and also folds flat for mailing.

Be sure to check out all the stops on the hop.  There are lots of fabulous fun fold ideas!

MagnoliaMood_NaturesSweetness_Square

This is an Online Exclusive Magnolia Mood bundle (release date March 5).  The fold is a window pull out card.

Fluffiest Friends and the Most Adored DSP

This is the last Fold Back card for this series and uses  the 2024 Sale-A-Bration Most Adored DSP.  This pack of paper is full of hearts and gold foil!  I wanted to use it for a birthday card.

FluffiestFriends_MostAdoredDSP_FoldBack_Front

I used the adorable bunny from the Fluffiest Friends bundle.   I did just a little coloring using Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, and Sweet Sorbet Stampin' Blends.  The sentiment is from another Online Exclusive product, Simply Sparkling.  The Basic White circle was cut using the Stylish Shapes dies and the Flirty Flamingo circle was cut using the Everyday Details dies.

  • Flirty Flamingo CS card base 5-1/" x 7-1/2" scored at 3-1/4"  and 6-1/2"
  • Most Adored DSP (pattern 1) 3" x 5-1/4"
  • Most Adored DSP (pattern 2) 3/4" x 4-1/4"

FluffiestFriends_MostAdoresDSP_FoldBack

This Fold Back card is a landscape orientation.  Isn't it fun that it can be used in either portrait or landscape?

FluffiestFriends_MostAdoredDSP_FoldBack_open

The sentiment inside of the card is from the Heartfelt Hexagon set.  I love to pair this image with this sentiment.

Flight & Airy Fold Back Card

We are back with another card in the Sale-A-Bration DSP and the Fold Back Card series.  Today's card features the Flight & Airy DSP  which means it is free with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration.  I did a very informal poll on my Facebook Page and the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper was voted the favorite paper pack out of the 5  Sale-A-Bration choices.  I was surprised and also not surprised.

Flight&Airy_Hello

  • Lost Lagoon Cardstock Card Base- 5-1/2" x 7-1/2" scored at 3-1/4" and 6-1/2".
  • Flight & Airy DSP 3" x 5-1/4" and 3/4" x 5-1/5".
  • Stylish Shapes Circle in Basic White CS.
  • Sentiment from the Softly Sophisticated bundle inked in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • Bird and branch image fussy cut from the Flight & Airy DSP.

Flight&Airy_Hello_side

This is how the card opens.  You fold back along the 6-1/2" score line.

Flight&Airy_Hello_open

When the card is opened the bird image is on the inside.

Flight&Airy_Hello_close

I am not a fussy cutting expert so don't look too closely.  I just wanted you  to see this beautiful bird from the Flight & Airy DSP.  I also added a few green Festive Pearls around the bird and branch.

You can see the other cards featuring this fold and the Sale-A-Bration DSP HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and remember Sale-A-Bration products are only available while supplies last.

Trusty Tools Fold Back Card

It is Day 3 of the Fold Back Fun Fold card featuring each of the Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper  choices.   Today's card features the Trusty Tool bundle and the Trusty Toolbox DSP.    I think this is the first time I have used this pack of Designer Series Paper.  It is so fun!  I love the tool images and all the different tool related designs.  The flip sides are so good too and I know they will be handy for all kinds of cards.

TrustyTools_TrustyToolboxDSP

The only thing I stamped is the sentiment from the Trusty Tools bundle.  The rest of the tools were die cut from the DSP using the Trusty Tools dies.  The circles are from the Stylish Shapes dies and the Everyday Details dies.  The sentiment banner was also cut from the Stylish Shapes dies.

Don't you love these two patterns together?  It is a stylized polka dots and stripes.

Simply Sparkling and the Sunny Days DSP

I have been really enjoying the beautiful patterns of Designer Series Paper in the 2024 Sale-A-Bration brochure.  They are all so fun and I cannot pick a favorite.  When I am wanting something bright and playful I turn to the Sunny Days DSP.    This pack of paper coordinates with the Bright Skies bundle in the 2024 Jan-April Mini Catalog.  I  think it also coordinates with the Beach Day bundle.  There are even patterns that coordinate with the Simply Sparkling bundle (Online Exclusive).

SimplySparkling_SuunyDaysDSP

I used the strawberries from the Simply Sparkling bundle and colored them in Poppy Parade, Petal Pink , and Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends.  The sentiment is from another Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Softly Sophisticated.  The Basic White circle was cut using the Everyday Details dies.

SimplySparkling_SunnyDaysDSP_side

This is an easy fun fold.  The Basic White Thick Cardstock was cut 5-1/2" x 7-1/2", scored at 3-1/4", and 6-1/2".   The sentiment circle is only attached to 1" edge so it acts as the closure for the card and also decorates the inside of the card.  The DSP is 3" x 5-1/4" and  3/4" x 5-1/4".

SimplySparkling_SunnyDaysDSP_open

Thanks for stopping by and I will share with you more of this style of card, using all the different packs of DSP available for FREE during Sale-A-Bration.

Enduring Beauty and the Other Half

A couple of weeks ago I posted a card and said I would share what I made with the other half at another time.  The fold I made used a full sheet of cardstock (scored in half horizontally and vertically and then cut on the diagonal)and it created two card bases.

EnduringBeauty_Hello

This card uses the Enduring Beauty bundle (stamps, dies, and masks), the Softly Sophisticated bundle (Sale-A-Bration), and the Softly Stippled DSP (Sale-A-Bration).

The roses were stamped in Pebbled Path ink.  This color is part of the 2023-25 In Colors and I have just started to use and appreciate it.  I used the Enduring Beauty Masks and Blending Brushes to color in the leaves and flowers.  I used Daffodil Delight and Old Olive ink.  The color variation depends on how much I inked up the brushes and the pressure applied.  All over the flowers I brushed Wink of Stella.

The DSP is the Softly Stippled from Sale-A-Bration.  I used the flip sides (aka more neutral sides).  As much as I like the floral designs in this paper pack I also really like the more neutral side.  They coordinate so well together.  In the background of the picture is another flip side of the DSP.

EnduringBeauty_Hello3

Here is the card open.  Inside I added another strip of DSP and the flower from the Softly Sophisticated bundle in Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.

Here is the link to the card I first made with the card base.   I also used the same patterns of DSP.  This fold is fun and an easy way to make two fun fold cards that can look similar or not.

Around the World on Wednesday...Sketch Challenge

AWOW-banner

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop!  We are a group of international Stampin' Up!® demonstrators who have gathered together for a monthly blog hop.  The blog hop goes live on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.   Join us and enjoy a hop around the world!

AWOW-groupphoto

This month our mighty leader, Angie has a fun sketch challenge.  I will admit I was a bit stumped with what to do with the sketch.  Angie talked me through it (thanks Angie!) and I hope you can see the original sketch in my card.

AWOW sketch

What would you make with this sketch as inspiration?  I will admit I got hung up on the triangle shape and could only think about a Christmas tree.  Angie reassured me that it could be any shape and the card did not have to be square.  I think these are pretty universal rules about sketch challenges but sometimes it is good to be reminded.

DetailedDogwood_SoftlyStippledDSP_Thanks

I used 2 Sale-A-Bration (this means they are free with qualifying purchases) choices for my card.  The stamp set is the Detailed Dogwood and the paper is the Softly Stippled DSP.   The sentiment is from the Stippled Roses stamp set in the 2024 January-April Mini catalog.

The dogwood blossoms were colored using Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, and Pool Party Stampin' Blends and yes, were fussy cut.  The twine on the tag is from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim in Pebbled Path.  I un-twisted the jute and tied a bow with just one strand of the jute.  The tag was cut using a die from the Nested Essentials.  Around the images I used the Iridescent Rhinestones to add a little sparkle.

DetailedDogwood_SoftlyStippledDSP_Thanks2

How to create this card base.  Start by scoring your cardstock in half both lengthwise and width wise.  Cut the cardstock on the diagonal.  You will have 2 card bases with this fold.  I will share what I did with the other card base in another post.

DetailedDogwood_SoftlyStippledDSP_Thanks3

Both flaps open or you could also secure one down for a pocket.  I decorated the inside with a strip of Softly Stippled DSP and another flower from the Detailed Dogwood set.  If this flower looks familiar it can be punched out using the Petal Park Builder Punch.

Festive & Fun Bay Window

Ready for another Festive Friday challenge?   What is the Festive Friday challenge?  The Festive Friday challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is inspired by a holiday/festivity.  An Inspo list of 10 items is created using the festivity as its inspiration.  To play in the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project and enter it in the Festive Friday gallery.  We love seeing what you choose from the Inspo list and look forward to seeing what you create.

 FF

I used from the Inspo List texture, fun fold, alcohol markers, animals/critters/birds, and stripes.

Festive&Fun_BayWindow_closed

The texture comes from the Christmas Tidings Embossing folder.  The Basic White panels were all embossed using the folder.  The folder is on the Last Chance List and is 10% off, while supplies last.   The animals/critters/birds are from the super cute Festive & Fun stamp set.  This stamp set is also on the Last Chance Products list so grab it while yo can.  The animals were all colored using Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers).  Here's the list of the colors I used-Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce, Lemon Lime Twist, Blueberry Bushel, and Granny Apple Green.  The colors I used are from the fun and bright striped pattern in the Merry Bold and Bright DSP.   This pack of paper is also on the Last Chance list.  I will definitely miss this pack of paper.  I have enjoyed the bright polka dots and stripes.

Festive&Fun_BayWindow_top

Here is another look at the fun fold and why it is called the Bay Window fold.  This is an easy fold since the scoring does all the work.  The card base is 4-1/4" x 11" Blueberry Bushel.  The scoring is 3/4",  2", 3-1/2", 4-3/4", 5-1/2".  The DSP pieces 1/2" x 4"  and   1" x 4" (cut 2).  The textured Basic White pieces 1/2" x 4" (cut 2) and 1-1/4" x 4".   You will also need a 4" x 5-1/4" of Basic White CS for the inside of the card.

Festive&Fun_Bay_Inside

The 3/4" score line nearest the fold is secured down.  Inside the sentiment is from the  Beary Cute stamp set (also on the Last Chance list).

Festive&Fun_BayWindow

The greenery behind the animal panel was cut using the Christmas Classics dies in Lemon Lime Twist CS.  These beautiful dies are also on the Last Chance List.  The sparkly berries are from the Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins and yes, they too are on the Last Chance List.  So many fabulous things are on the list!  You can check out the whole list HERE.   There are things on the list that are already sold out.  Shop early to avoid  disappointment.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for the challenge.

I look forward to seeing your creations in the Festive Friday Challenge gallery!
