Welcome to the Creativity Abounds Blog Hop!  We are an international group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators.  We hop together on the third Wednesday of every month.  Our hops focus around a particular bundle, holiday, occasion or product suite.  This month we are focusing on Masculine projects.

Every month we create a tutorial bundle. The tutorial bundle is available as a gift with a qualifying purchase  or can also be purchased.  We also have a stamp camp 3 times a year.

Have you checked out the Ephemera Packs in the Annual Catalog pages 18-21?  They are a fun and economical addition to your crafting stash.   I used 3 of the 4 packs on my card.

  • Basic Black CS card base 4-1/4" x 11"
  • Wild Wheat CS layer 4" x 5-1/4" embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing folder
  • Basic Black CS square cut using the Stylish Shapes largest square die
  • Wild Wheat 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" square embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing folder
  • Basic White CS cut using the 4th largest Stylish Shapes square die
  • Greenery on the Basic White square from the Something for Everything and the Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack
  • Basic White CS 7/8" x  1-1/2" typewriter paper
  • Use a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and ink the sentiment from the Unbounded Love stamp set.  Ink each word separately  with the Basic Black Marker.
  • Real Red hearts cut using the Thoughtful Moments dies-part of the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing folder
  • Remove the paper from the typewriter image (Something for Everyone Ephemera Pack)
  • Adhere the Basic White CS (with sentiment) to the typewriter and attach a small Real Red heart

Kangaroo & Co Get Well Card

From the first time I saw the Kangaroo & Company Bundle I knew I would have to get it.  I haven't pulled it out in a bit and I thought it would be fun to use for the Festive Friday Challenge, #FF83.

Before I show you what I created for the Challenge, let's talk a little about it.  The Festive Friday Challenge is a bi-weekly challenge.  The challenge is inspired by a festivity and based on the festivity an Inspo List is created.  To play along with the challenge you need to pick 3 items from the Inspo List to use on your project.  Your project doesn't have to be inspired by the festivity but it does need to have 3 items from the Inspo List.  There are a few other rules that you can see here.  When you have completed your project you will post it on the Festive Friday  blog.  We love seeing how you were inspired.

Here is the Inspo List.

FF83

I chose get well, red, blue, cross, and emboss from the Inspo List.

Kangaroo&Co

I wanted to create a nurse's cap for the kangaroo.  I had to google it to see what they looked like.  I hope you can kind of see what I was referencing.  I think the red cross on it definitely helps.   I colored the flowers using Stampin' Blends and meant to have a secret message  pull out from the kangaroo's pocket.  Unfortunately I got a little too aggressive with the Stampin' Dimensionals and ended up securing the flowers down.  Oops!

Kangaroo&Co-side

I used the Tasteful Textile 3D folder to emboss the Basic White layer.  It is definitely one of my go-to folders when I want just a little something.  The Real Red tag was cut using a die that will be available soon (when the new catalog goes live on May 4).  The Tailor Made Tags dies are stand alone meaning they do not coordinate with a particular stamp set, they coordinate with everything.  The cute red ribbon with stitching is from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.

Please check out what the rest of the Festive Friday Design team created for #FF0083.

A Special Someone Get Well

I never seem to have any get well cards in my stash.  I guess I don't like to think about any of my friends needing one.

ASID-Specialsomeone-getwell

Do you think this cutie will help bring a smile to someone not feeling their best?  I sure hope so!

In the Special Someone set  there are skinny images that need to be cut out, like the flower stems and the balloon strings.  When I first cut out the flowers my stems were not being cut properly.  Here's how I solved that problem.

  1.  Place your stamp image side down on your table.  Place the block over the stamp and press down to stick it to the block.  Why?  Sometimes   Photopolymer stamps can be stretched  when you place them on the block making them not line up properly with the die.
  2.  Stamp your image.  Line up the die on the image.  Take care to line up the flower and then look through the hole at the bottom of the die.  If you   can you see the ink through it, you are lined up properly.  If you see the cardstock then you need to shift the die.

Try it and let me know how it works for you.  These 2 tips have made cutting out the Special Someone images with the Special Days Dies so much easier.
