Gift Ideas

Latte Love Thank you

This week I will be sharing projects using the Latte Love bundle.   This super fun bundle is part of the Little Latte Collection.  The Suite includes the Latte Love bundle,  Little Latte DSP, Natural Polka Dot Trim,  and Adhesive-Backed Swirl Gems.  This  is one very fun suite!

LatteLove_GiftCard

The card base is Pecan Pie CS.  The background papers and the mugs are all from the Little Latte Designer Series Paper.  The mugs were fussy cut from the DSP.  The spoons were stamped using Smoky Slate ink on Smoky Slate cardstock and die cut using the Latte Love dies.  The French Press just may be my favorite.  The "hardware" on the French Press is Lost Lagoon CS, the glass is vellum and the coffee is Early Espresso CS.  The sentiments is from the Latte Love set inked in Pecan Pie on a Basic White CS banner.  The banner was cut using the Something Fancy dies.  I cannot believe that I didn't use the Adhesive-Backed Swirl Gems on the banner.  Instead I used the Calypso Coral gems from the Opaque Faceted Gems.  These gems were one of the 2024 Sale-A-Bration choices.

LatteLove_GiftCard_open

Inside there is a pocket to hold a gift card.  This is a simple gift card holder.  I cut a slit from the center fold to the edge at 1-1/4".  Glue down along the bottom 4-1/4" side and the 1-1/4" side.  Do not glue the top or you will not have a pocket.   Fussy cut another mug from the DSP and stamped in Pecan Pie ink the sentiment.

  • Card Base-Pecan Pie CS 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" slit cut from fold to edge at 1-1/4"
  • Plaid design from the Little Latte DSP 4" x 4"
  • Calypso Coral coffee bean design 1" x 4"
  • Basic White (inside) 4" x 4-1/2"

Positive Thoughts Notes

How are you?  Hope you are doing well.  These are strange times we are living in.  We are practicing social distancing and I spend most of my time at home.  I go out for walks and maybe to the grocery store but otherwise I am home.  So far, so good.  I am very happy that I have a lot of creative projects to work on. I decided that I also needed to use this time at home to work on little projects around the house.  I started a list of projects and decided to make a pretty cover for my list.

ASID-FF55

This little notepad is half of a mini legal pad and I happened to have some in my stash of projects to work on.  I used the Festive Friday #FF0055 Inspo list to help me decide how I was going to decorate it.

FF0055

I chose rainbow (rainbow of butterflies),  glitter/glimmer (Sparkle Glimmer paper) and rhinestones.  To play along with the Festive Friday Challenge all you need to do is use 3 of the elements from the Inspo list and upload it to the gallery.  There are a few other rules that you can see HERE.  It is easy to play along and the design team loves to see what you are making!

Be sure to  check out what the rest of the design team created for #FF0055.  Each member of the design team creates a tutorial or video for their project.  If you would like to make a Butterfly Rainbow Notebook CLICK HERE for a tutorial.

ICS Blog Hop...Lovely Lily Pad

ICS header

Happy New Year and welcome to the Inspire, Create, & Share (ICS) Blog Hop!  We are excited to share with you some sneak peeks from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration brochure.  Just a few more sleeps until the start of both the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration.  We love this time of year.  Starting January 3, when  you purchase $50 (US) in product you will be able to choose a free gift from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I mean seriously who doesn't love a free gift?!

I chose to focus on the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set.  This stamp set also has a coordinating die set, Lily Pad which is  free with a $100 purchase, and coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) called Lily Impressions which is free with a $50 purchase.

ASID-ICShopJan20

I made a bag using the All Dressed Up dies (January-June 2020 Mini catalog) and the Lily Impressions DSP.  The bag holds three 3" x 3" cards. Wouldn't this make a fun gift?

ASID-ICSJan20-bag

I used the circles in Stitched Shapes dies to create the handles for my bag.  I used #1 and #3 stitched circles (#1 being the smallest). I place the smaller circle inside the larger die and ran them through my die cutting machine. They fit perfectly on the front of the bag and is a fun alternative to the handles included in the All Dressed Up dies.

ASID-ICSJan20-cards

Here are the 3 cards I made to fit in the bag.  I also included envelopes which can be found here.  These little note cards are too small to mail.  They are great as gift tags or little notes to tuck in someone's lunch or leave on someone's desk.

ASID-ICSJan20-card1

The lily and lily pad were embossed in white on Shimmery White cs.  I like to use Shimmery White cs when I water color.  It doesn't absorb as quickly as regular Whisper White cs so you can move around the color.   I also attached some gems from the From My Heart Faceted Gems in the January-June 2020 Mini catalog.  The DSP is also from the Lily Impressions DSP.

ASID-ICSJan20-card2

I love the ombre effect on the design strips.  These strips were cut using the Lily Pad dies from the Lily Impressions DSP, the same design that the bag was cut from.  The flower was also created using the Lily Pad dies.

ASID-ICSJan20-card3

On this little note card I again watercolored and embossed the lily and leaves from the Lovely Lily Pad set.  Used the border die from the Lily Pad dies and the From the Heart Faceted Gems.

ASID-ICShopJan20

This was a very fun project to put together and offers a good look at the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set, Lily Pad dies, and the Lily Impressions DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Now it is time to head on over to see what Dana Sullivan has created for you!

A Gift for a Golfer

My husband is a golfer so the Country Club Suite in the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog was a must have for me.  Everything in the suite is wonderful and perfect to make cards and gifts for him and his golf buddies.

Here's a fun little package using the Clubhouse bundle, Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP, and the All Dressed Up dies.

ASID-Golfgiftjpeg copy

I used the Wrapped in Plaid DSP for the box but I could have easily used the Country Club DSP.  The golf ball/tee image from the Clubhouse set was quickly colored using Stampin' Blends and cut out with the coordinating Golf Club dies.  Here's how  I created the tee holder.  Start by cutting a 1/2" strip of Shaded Spruce card stock.  Run a bone folder over the strip to soften the fibers.  Glue down about 1-1/4" of the strip and then make a loop. Put the tee in the loop to make sure it fits and then apply a strip of glue to secure the loop. Repeat the process for the second tee and then glue down the strip and trim to fit the bag.

ASID-Golfbag-injpeg

If you were wondering what is in the All Dressed Up bag, it is a golf glove.  I am not putting on handles on this bag and using it more as a box.  The All Dressed Up dies are very versatile and with a little change of paper can be used for so many different occasions.  Can you tell  I am loving this die?!

On To Adventure & the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge 573

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week we have a color challenge.

CCMC573

I have been shining the spotlight in the On to Adventure stamp set and realized I haven't used one stamp yet, so I had to get to work.

AstheInkDries-OnToAdventure-golfgift

What do you think?  Don't you love this little golf guy?  Isn't he so sporty with his Grapefruit Grove pants & Pretty Peacock shirt?  This reminded me of the days when it was very fashionable for men to wear really loud outfits on the golf course.  Memories of my dad in bright yellow pants!  Brings a smile  to my face.  Are you wondering, where is the Sahara Sand?  I used it to color his hair and also  the scalloped circle is Sahara Sand.

We are going on an overnight golf trip.  I thought this would be a fun favor for the men folk in the group.  Now I just have to convince my husband to give up some of his golf balls to finish them.

On To Adventure Pillow Box

I wanted to make a quick little gift for a friend who is leaving on vacation.  I knew my favorite gal from the On to Adventure stamp set would be perfect for the tag but what kind of box?  I did a quick look around the Craft Cubbie (the name I have given my stamp room cause it is pretty small) and found some Kraft Pillow Boxes. They were  perfect for what I wanted to give her.

I did some quick coloring with Stampin' Blends, die cut a few circles, and tied a pretty Poppy Parade ribbon around the box and I was done!

AstheInkDries-OnToAdventure-pillowbox

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.  Are you wondering what I put inside the box?  Well I should have taken a picture before I sealed it up but I put in some chocolate, a coffee gift card and some aspirin.  Consider it a travel emergency kit!

Coffee Gift Card holder

Here's another quick and easy gift card holder.  This one is perfect for those coffee cards that are a nice little treat anytime.

AstheInkDries-Coffeegiftcard

I used the Envelope Punch Board to create the gift card holder.  I started with a 5-1/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Wood Textures DSP.   The first measurement is to punch and score at 2-1/4", then simply turn and punch and score lining up with the previous score line.

AstheInkDries-CoffeeGiftcardopen

I made a belly band that fits around the envelope. I attached the largest snowflake (from the now retired limited edition Snowfall thinlits) on to the belly band and attached the coffee cup on to the snowflake.Don't you love the plaid cup?  I used the Festive Farmhouse DSP for the cup and wrap.   This gift card holder comes together quickly and the hardest part is figuring out what paper to use to make those cute cups from the Coffee Cup framelits.

Apron of Love for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

I cannot decide which I like better Color Challenges or Sketch Challenges but I do know that I certainly enjoy the Create with Connie & Mary Challenges.  This week it is a color challenge, Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler.

CCMC539

I have been wanting to create a little treat holder to house some kisses as little favors.  Looking through my dies I came across the Apron Builder framelits and thought they just might be perfect.  I haven't used these framelits or the coordinating Apron of Love stamp set nearly enough.

AstheInkDries-ApronofLove

I created a little box and sandwiched it between two aprons  and decorated it using the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle which is one of my  favorite bundles.  The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.  The little 3" x 3" card is decorated with the cute wreath from the Barn Door stamp set and the Sliding Door Framelits.

Here's all the things I used to make today's projects.

Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop...Broadway Star

28576489_10216314905810036_5229522907894174650_n

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use  this month's Paper Pumpkin kit: Broadway Star.

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit is the first time the kit also coordinates with  a product suite in the Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.  Can you guess what suite it is?  It is called the Broadway Bound Suite and can be found on page 69 of the catalog.

When I opened the Paper Pumpkin box I was so happy to see a black and white striped card bases.  You know I have a thing for black and white and stripes.

AstheInkDries-PPBroadwayStar

The first thing that came to mind was to make a box.  This box and lid were made from 2 card bases.  In fact everything I used on this project was in the Paper Pumpkin box except for the Black Satin ribbon which is part of the Broadway Bound suite, the purple star candle, and the surprise inside of the box.

AstheInkDries-PPBroadwayStaropen

Now you can see a little bit of what is inside.  I decorated the package with some of the many elements in this month's kit.

AstheInkDries-PPBroadwayStarcake

Have you figured out what the package is?  It is a packet that makes an individual brownie cake in the microwave.  The person who gets this will be able to make themselves a little cake and use the purple star to make a wish.  Honestly I have no idea what the cake tastes like.  I just think it is such a fun little gift.
