Hostess sets

Best Thoughts and the TSOT #256 Challenge

When I saw the sketch for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch #256 I knew exactly what I wanted to do.    I just needed to find the right stamp set to use.  I think I found the perfect one, Best Thoughts, which is a hostess set in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.

Here is the sketch.

Jan28 TSOT #256 due 1:28

Here's what I made.

Best Thoughts TSOT #256

Yes, it is another rolling penny card very similar in design to this card.   The main difference is that this is a square card and I used circle # 7 and 9 (1 being the smallest circle in the Circles Collection framelits).  Here's a tutorial on how to make a rolling penny card.

I embossed the images in white embossing powder and colored using an Aqua Painter and re-inkers.   The hardest part was trying to find just the right butterfly.

I hope you join in the challenge!  If you do, please let me know and I will be sure to check out your creation.  Thanks for stopping by!

Best Thoughts and Watercolor

It is day 13 of my 31 Day Blogging Challenge.  It has not been easy and there have been days that I was posting at the last minute but I am happy that i have made it this far.  To reward myself I took a little time and did some watercoloring.

Best Thoughts watercolor

I just love this big flower image from the Best Thoughts stamp set.   This set is an exclusive set available to  hosts.   I started by heat embossing the image with white embossing powder.  I used an Aqua Painter with Real Red and Old Olive ink refills to do the coloring.

The only supply not listed is the sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes Card kit.   The 12 piece stamp set is included in the kit.   We will talk more about the kit on another post.

On the 14th the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop will go live at 7 pm (PT).  This month the theme is Babies.  Be sure to stop by and hop along with us!

Floral Wings

Floral Wings is one of the hostess sets in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.   It is a fun Two (sometimes Three) Step stamp set.

Floral Wings midriff card

I cut the butterfly out using the Bold Butterfly framelits and another butterfly using the Butterflies thinlits out of card stock vellum.  It is wonderful to have so many mix and match framelits, thinlits, and stamp sets.

Best Thoughts

I am going on the record and saying that this year's Stampin' Up! hostess sets are wonderful!  The first one I want to share with you is Best Thoughts.  Love the big flower and the font is the best.  More sentiments with that font please.

Best Thoughts

I stamped the flower but decided I didn't want to color it so I decided to do some paper piecing.  I stamped and embossed the image on some DSP from the Cherry On Top paper stack.  The 6 x 6 paper stacks in the catalog are wonderful.  I like that there is a subtler pattern on the flip side of a bolder patterned sheet.

Best Thoughts 3

I stamped and embossed the image again and cut out a few flowers to pop up so it wouldn't be so flat.  Next time I am going to use different stacks of Stampin Dimensionals which will make the flowers pop even more.

Best Thoughts 4

The new Brick Wall embossing folder which is 6" x 6", is going to be a "go to" folder.  I love the way it adds texture without stealing the show.  I stamped the sentiment before I used the embossing folder.  Believe me it is MUCH easier to stamp the sentiment before than trying to stamp it after you have embossed.

These sentiment will be used a lot.  I think it works for lots of different situations.  Are you wondering, how do you get this awesome set?  Since this is a hostess set, you need to either have a qualifying workshop/party or place a qualifying order.  If this sounds like something you would like to do, please contact me and we can work out the details.

Bloom with Hope and the Weekly Deals

My blog break is over.  Thank you for hanging in there with me.  The past few days I have been moving things around in my craft room, tidying things up, and generally doing anything but stamp.  I realized I was avoiding the actually making of something.  Kind of crazy huh?  I decided to just start coloring with my Blendabilities and not worry about the finished product.

Bloom with Hope

Don't you love the fern frond image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set?  The flowers needed some greenery and they were the perfect addition.

 Here's a list of what I used.

Nuts About You in February

Earlier I shared with you a calendar that one of my team members, Kerri Gennett made for me. Here is the link to her January page. Here is the calendar page for the month of February.

150122 Feb Kerri's calendar

Kerri used the adorable Nuts About You hostess set.  This set is so cute and would be perfect to make some  Valentine's projects.  Since this is a hostess set the only way you can get it is by using Hostess dollars.  Sale-A-Bration is the perfect time to host a party.  During Sale-A-Bration when your party total reaches $250 or more you will receive an extra $25 in hostess benefits.  You can use your hostess dollars on exclusive hostess sets or on catalog merchandise or a combination of the two!  Lots of flexibility and fun.   Contact me and we will plan your stamping party!

Hi There, Hello There and Pictogram Punches

It has been a tough transition this week from vacation mode to real life mode.  I have the house back in order, food in the fridge, and the laundry is done.  It is taking me longer to get back to my regular blogging practice.  I am working on it but that is why my posts are not showing up until later in the day.  Bear with me while I get back into the swing of things.

Hi There Pictogram Pictures

I didn't think I was going to get over the retirement of the Itty Bitty Punch Pack but I am starting to really warm to the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack especially with these super cute flowers from the Pictogram Punches stamp set.  This is a super easy and happy card to make.

Product List

If you notice on the Product List there is something missing.  I also used the Large Polka Dot embossing folder 133739.  I embossed only the top portion  of the card.  I love that the embossing folders can be fed through the Big Shot in either orientation.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. To purchase any of the items I used to make this card just click on the links above and you will be taken to my online store.  Thank you!

I was having a hard time figuring out where to place the sentiment.  I finally decided to cut the DSP panel in half and stamped the sentiment in between the two halves.  Simple and just a little bit different.  If you are wondering I did use a retired sentiment, Perfect Words on this card.  It was one of those sets I just could not get rid of.
