Manly cards and projects

Trusty Tools Fold Back Card

It is Day 3 of the Fold Back Fun Fold card featuring each of the Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper  choices.   Today's card features the Trusty Tool bundle and the Trusty Toolbox DSP.    I think this is the first time I have used this pack of Designer Series Paper.  It is so fun!  I love the tool images and all the different tool related designs.  The flip sides are so good too and I know they will be handy for all kinds of cards.

TrustyTools_TrustyToolboxDSP

The only thing I stamped is the sentiment from the Trusty Tools bundle.  The rest of the tools were die cut from the DSP using the Trusty Tools dies.  The circles are from the Stylish Shapes dies and the Everyday Details dies.  The sentiment banner was also cut from the Stylish Shapes dies.

Don't you love these two patterns together?  It is a stylized polka dots and stripes.

You're a Star Pictogram Punches

I am finally digging in to my box of new Stampin' Up! products.   It is most definitely a fun box!  This year instead of immediately putting everything away I decided to only put stamp sets away once I have played with them.  My goal is to make at least 4 samples for each set.  This will eliminate me finding sets that I have not inked up because i forgot about them.  I am also trying to follow the rule that I cannot place another other order for myself until the box is empty.  That is going to be tough since i already have a list of stamps and accessories for my next order.

First up is the stamp set Pictogram Punches.  I am trying to share a manly project on most (notice here I wrote most) Mondays.  I am not the best at this kind of card but I want to work on getting better.

Pictogram Pictures 2

I am totally smitten with the In Color  (2013-15) Sequins.  Just wish they came in all the colors.

Here's a glimpse of the inside of the card.

Pictogram Pictures 2a

I am not sure if I will be using it for a Father's Day card or not so for now I am leaving it blank inside.

If you want more information about  any of the products, just click on the link in the chart above.

Here's a little more feminine version  of the card.

Most of the supplies are the same except here I used Early Espresso ink for the sentiment and Crisp Cantaloupe for the card base.

Sweater Weather

It has been pretty quiet here, not much ink drying so not much to tell you about.   The past month has been a busy one and October is looking like it is going to be as well.   One thing I learned is that I need to be sure to schedule in some creative time so I did just that on Sunday.  Now, I wish I could tell you that I was a stamping machine and made so many new things but that would be untrue.  I found it hard to get started.   Does that happen to you?

Sweater Weather hi

This simple card took me forever to make!  I abandoned it many times and still feel like it is missing something but it is time to move on.

Stamps: Regarding Dahlias (sentiment), Woodgrain
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Sweater Weather DSP, Champagne Glimmer paper
Big Shot: Autumn Accents Bigz die
Extras: Linen thread, Envelope Punch Board (corner rounder)

Sweater Weather hi side

I added a few strips of Sweater Weather DSP to the inside as well.    This card fits in the Mailable Monday  category and it is pretty manly as well.

Check back with me soon as I get back to stamping and posting regularly.  Hope to stamp with you soon!

Manly Magnificent Maple

I love this single stamp, Magnificent Maple.  It is a gorgeous detailed image and the first one that came to mind when I found some card parts while I was re-organizing my room .  The card parts I found where originally cut to make  this  card.

Magnificent Maple Crusehd Curry

This was so fun to make.   It is pretty easy and I have a couple of tips to share with you.

Sharons' Stamping Tip # 1  Are you wondering what DSP I used?  The DSP (Designer Series Paper) is the Neutrals Paper Stack on page 152.   I used a sponge and inked on some Baked Brown Sugar ink to cover up the white on the DSP.   Kinda fun huh?   Just a little sponging makes a big  difference.

Sharon's Stamping Tip # 2  I colored the leaf using a cotton swab inked up in some fall colors(see the list below) and just randomly filled in the image.  It was a  quick way to add some color and achieve the look of a fall leaf.

Manly Mosaic Madness

Yes, I am still infected with Mosaic Madness!  There are so many fun ways to use this stamp set and punch.   This stamp set lends itself to making handsome cards, perfect for those men in your life.

Mosaic Madness Masculine

I used the same idea that I shared in this previous post.  This time I stamped it with White Craft ink before punching out all those tiles.

Stamps: Mosaic Madness bundle (132733 includes the Mosaic punch), Simply Sketched
Ink: Whisper White Craft ink
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red
Punches: Mosaic, Large Oval

By the Tide

Are you like me and always in need of manly cards?  If the answer is yes then let me introduce you to  By the Tide set in the Occasions Catalog.    The lovely coral image caught my eye and since it would work beautifully for  masculine cards I decided to give it a try.

By the Tide

I started off with a 1/2 sheet of Whisper White card stock and sponged on  lots of colors.  I will tell you that it usually looks pretty awful at this point but once I started stamping the fish, coral and script, things started to look up.   I stamped some of the coral in the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad and I love the look.  I hope you can see a little of the shimmer in this picture.  The Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad made its debut in the Holiday Catalog but has been carried over and can still be ordered (see page 36 of the Occasions catalog).

By the Tide side

The hardest part was trying to figure out a layout.  Fortunately I had this card  sitting on my craft table and thought it just might  work.

By the Tide openStamps: By the Tide, Just Believe
Ink: Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, More Mustard, Lucky Limeade, Riding Hood Red, Early Espresso, Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad
Paper: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Whisper White
Extras: Stampin Sponges

Have a wonderfully creative day!
