Sweet Citrus Sweet Treat

Ready for another Festive Friday challenge?   What is the Festive Friday challenge?  The Festive Friday challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is inspired by a holiday/festivity.  An Inspo list of 10 items is created using the festivity as its inspiration.  To play in the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project and enter it in the Festive Friday gallery.  We love seeing what you choose from the Inspo list and look forward to seeing what you create.

FF132

I chose Kindness sentiment, Gift Tag, Blue, and Mini Treat Package from the Inspo list.

SweetCitrus_PeekabooTreatBag

I found these lemon Mentos and knew they would be cute packaged using  the Sweet Citrus bundle.   The Festive Friday challenge #132 was a perfect time to use them and there is even blue on the label!

The lemons were stamped in Daffodil Delight and then embossed and cut using the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing folder.   I still find it a little scary to place the dies in the embossing folder but the results are so good!  I love all the details, it looks just like a juicy lemon.  The leaves were stamped using Parakeet Party and the flowers in Flirty Flamingo.  The sentiment is from the Pansy Patch stamp set.  This stamp set and dies will be available in the upcoming 2023-24 Annual Catalog but will not be available as a bundle.  If you have wanted this stamp set and dies get them now (by May 2 to save 10%).

The tag behind the lemons is Starry Sky CS and embossed with the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing folder.  To carry the Starry Sky color I also used the Starry Sky twine from the  2022-24 In Color Baker's Twine and the 2022-24 In Color Matte Decorative Dots in Starry Sky for the center of the flowers.

The treat bag is a Peekaboo Treat Bag.   These cute bags come in both Kraft and white and are food safe.  These will be retiring soon so if you like to package little gifties be sure to get them before they are gone.

Thank for stopping by and be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created for this challenge!

ICS Blog Hop...Petal Pink

ICS header

Welcome to the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop!  This month we are hopping and sharing projects with the theme of It's a Girl Thing, Monochromatic style.

ASID-ICSApriljpeg

I have to tell you that it has been a struggle!  I had the hardest time figuring out what I wanted to make.  This is probably the 3rd or 4th thing I have made and well time is getting short so I am sticking with this one.

I am a fan of Petal Pink.  We haven't always gotten along but it has definitely grown on me and I use it a lot.   This is an easy and fun way to package a treat.

  • 5-3/4" x 9-3/4" piece of Petal Pink CS scored at 2-3/4" x 7"
  • Seal up the back creating a flat open ended packet
  • Use the Ornate Floral 3-D Embossing Folder and emboss a 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Petal Pink Vellum (Perennial Essence Vellum)
  • Create Petal Pink Vellum flowers using the Magnolia Memory dies and the Perennial Flower punch.  Layer the two smaller 3 petal dies, then the Perennial Flower punch, and then the center in Petal Pink CS.  The circle in the middle of the flower is Petal Pink CS heat embossed with a mix of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and Clear Embossing Powder.
  • Attach the flowers to the embossed piece of Petal Pink Vellum using Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Use glue dots or dots of liquid glue and apply to the back of the vellum where the flowers are.  This will prevent adhesive from showing through when you attach it to the packet.  Now adhere it to the front of the Petal Pink packet.
  • Punch a hole in the center near the top of the packet (punching through the front and the back).  Insert one end of the Petal Pink ribbon through both holes. Place the brownie mix in the packet between the ribbon.  Push the brownie mix down into the packet until it is hidden.  Tie a bow at the top and cut the ribbon
  • Stamp in VersaMark ink the sentiment on Petal Pink CS and sprinkle White Embossing powder.  Emboss using the Heat Tool.  Cut out using the die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  Attach it to the front using a Stampin' Dimensional.

This would make a great little favor or gift for a friend or co-worker.  Think of all the different kind of treats you could package like this!  Now it is time to check out what the talented Deb Naylor has made for you.

A Gift for a Golfer

My husband is a golfer so the Country Club Suite in the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog was a must have for me.  Everything in the suite is wonderful and perfect to make cards and gifts for him and his golf buddies.

Here's a fun little package using the Clubhouse bundle, Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP, and the All Dressed Up dies.

ASID-Golfgiftjpeg copy

I used the Wrapped in Plaid DSP for the box but I could have easily used the Country Club DSP.  The golf ball/tee image from the Clubhouse set was quickly colored using Stampin' Blends and cut out with the coordinating Golf Club dies.  Here's how  I created the tee holder.  Start by cutting a 1/2" strip of Shaded Spruce card stock.  Run a bone folder over the strip to soften the fibers.  Glue down about 1-1/4" of the strip and then make a loop. Put the tee in the loop to make sure it fits and then apply a strip of glue to secure the loop. Repeat the process for the second tee and then glue down the strip and trim to fit the bag.

ASID-Golfbag-injpeg

If you were wondering what is in the All Dressed Up bag, it is a golf glove.  I am not putting on handles on this bag and using it more as a box.  The All Dressed Up dies are very versatile and with a little change of paper can be used for so many different occasions.  Can you tell  I am loving this die?!

All Dressed Up Bag & the Night Before Christmas DSP

I could not resist any longer, I had to make one of the adorable bags using the All Dressed Up dies (available January 3).

ASID-Poppybag-2

I used the Night Before Christmas 6" x 6" DSP for the bag.  This pattern like many of the designs in this pack  work not only for Christmas but year round projects.  I added a big poppy that was made using the Poppy Moments dies (also available January 3).  Wouldn't this be such a fabulous way to package a gift?

ASID-PoppyBag

To my delight I found out that this bag will hold tea bags.  I have 6 tea bags  in this bag.  I am always delighted to find new ways to give the gift of tea.  My head is spinning with all the possibilities!  I do think this die is a must have.

Check back soon I will be sharing a few more samples using the All Dressed Up Dies tomorrow and also later in the week.  Blog signature

On To Adventure & the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge 573

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week we have a color challenge.

CCMC573

I have been shining the spotlight in the On to Adventure stamp set and realized I haven't used one stamp yet, so I had to get to work.

AstheInkDries-OnToAdventure-golfgift

What do you think?  Don't you love this little golf guy?  Isn't he so sporty with his Grapefruit Grove pants & Pretty Peacock shirt?  This reminded me of the days when it was very fashionable for men to wear really loud outfits on the golf course.  Memories of my dad in bright yellow pants!  Brings a smile  to my face.  Are you wondering, where is the Sahara Sand?  I used it to color his hair and also  the scalloped circle is Sahara Sand.

We are going on an overnight golf trip.  I thought this would be a fun favor for the men folk in the group.  Now I just have to convince my husband to give up some of his golf balls to finish them.

On To Adventure Pillow Box

I wanted to make a quick little gift for a friend who is leaving on vacation.  I knew my favorite gal from the On to Adventure stamp set would be perfect for the tag but what kind of box?  I did a quick look around the Craft Cubbie (the name I have given my stamp room cause it is pretty small) and found some Kraft Pillow Boxes. They were  perfect for what I wanted to give her.

I did some quick coloring with Stampin' Blends, die cut a few circles, and tied a pretty Poppy Parade ribbon around the box and I was done!

AstheInkDries-OnToAdventure-pillowbox

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.  Are you wondering what I put inside the box?  Well I should have taken a picture before I sealed it up but I put in some chocolate, a coffee gift card and some aspirin.  Consider it a travel emergency kit!

Takeout Treat box and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  This week we have a color challenge and oh what a timely color combination it is!

CCMC533

Isn't this combination perfect for Halloween?

AstheInkDries-CCMC

I used the Takeout Treat Box to make this cute Halloween treat.  One of the dies in the Takeout Thinlits cuts out the window.  I cut a slightly larger piece of window sheet so my "mummies" would stay in the box.  The sentiment is from the versatile Itty Bitty Greetings set.  I used Stampin' Write markers to create the two tone saying.  The pumpkin leaves are from the Detailed Leaves thinlit.  To make the spirals, I wrapped a thin strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock around a wooden skewer.  To finish up my project I  used the 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon in Gorgeous Grape.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created. I am always inspired by their projects.

Kraft Pillow Boxes and the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle

Just one more sleep until the Stampin' Up!® Holiday catalog goes live!  One of my favorite bundles in the Holiday catalog is Peaceful Poinsettias.  Just how much I have enjoyed playing with this set surprised me.  I pre-ordered this set because I was curious about the doily die and liked the other images and sentiments.  I have barely played with the doily die and instead have fallen for the big poinsettia.  Here's a link to a card I made using the big poinsettias.

Today I want to show you how I used the bundle to decorate a Kraft Pillow Box.

AstheInkDries-DS3-D2

This month when you use the Host Code S93G4H96 and place a $50 order (before shipping and tax) with me, I will send you a package of these Pillow Boxes.  Click here for more information about this gift  and Host Code.  I also want to point out the beautiful Cherry Cobbler DSP.  This is from the Dashing Along DSP.

Promo September 2018 Dashing Along DSP

This DSP is a FREE  gift when you host a qualifying event ($250 in sales before shipping and tax) in September.   Contact me if you would like to host an event in September.   In my next newsletter email (9/5)  I will be sharing other ideas using the Dashing Along DSP and 4 tutorials for fun fall projects.  If you want to receive my newsletter be sure to complete the signup box on the right hand side of the blog.

Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop...Broadway Star

28576489_10216314905810036_5229522907894174650_n

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use  this month's Paper Pumpkin kit: Broadway Star.

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit is the first time the kit also coordinates with  a product suite in the Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.  Can you guess what suite it is?  It is called the Broadway Bound Suite and can be found on page 69 of the catalog.

When I opened the Paper Pumpkin box I was so happy to see a black and white striped card bases.  You know I have a thing for black and white and stripes.

AstheInkDries-PPBroadwayStar

The first thing that came to mind was to make a box.  This box and lid were made from 2 card bases.  In fact everything I used on this project was in the Paper Pumpkin box except for the Black Satin ribbon which is part of the Broadway Bound suite, the purple star candle, and the surprise inside of the box.

AstheInkDries-PPBroadwayStaropen

Now you can see a little bit of what is inside.  I decorated the package with some of the many elements in this month's kit.

AstheInkDries-PPBroadwayStarcake

Have you figured out what the package is?  It is a packet that makes an individual brownie cake in the microwave.  The person who gets this will be able to make themselves a little cake and use the purple star to make a wish.  Honestly I have no idea what the cake tastes like.  I just think it is such a fun little gift.

Last Chance Little Purse

Today's project just uses products that are on the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog Last Chance list.  In fact the Designer Series Paper I used, Whole Lot of Lovely has already sold out.   This is my way of saying, don't wait too long to order off the Last Chance list.

AstheInkDriesDSPpurse

This little purse is pretty small and holds about 5 little candies, perfect size for a little table favor.  I filled it with orange Mentos candies to coordinate with the paper.

AstheInkDriesDSPpurse2

The other items I used are still available(at least the last time I checked) on the Last Chance List.  I will miss that sweet little flower from the Tree Builder punch.   In addition to the sweet little flower there is also an apple, raindrop,  little bird, and of course a tree.  A very useful punch indeed!

All of the Enamel Shapes are being retired.  These little shapes are available by color collections, so you can get them in Brights, Regals and Subtles. There are 5 shapes on each sheet: hearts, stars, and 2 sizes of circles.  These make great little accents and though they be little they add a lot.

The Crushed Curry and Old Olive Mini Chevron ribbon are both being retired.  This ribbon is a great width (3/8"), soft and perfect if you are ribbon challenged.  I like this width a lot, works well for both cards and 3-D items.

Have a great Sunday!  I am going to spend some time with members of my team so it will be a fun day for me!

Lots to Love Box and a Pot of Gold

Here's a fun little box perfect for St. Patrick's Day.

AstheInkDriespotofgoldsmall

It all started when I found these chocolate coins at the store and knew I had to make something with them.  Thinking about gold coins made me think about a pot of gold and that is how this project came to life.  Finally I can say that I found that elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

The box was made with the Lots to Love Box Framelits.  I cut  Emerald Envy card stock to 4-1/4" x 4-1/2", you will need 2 of these.  The 4- 1/4"side  is the length of the box.  I lined the flap  of the die to the edge of the card stock and cut the box.    This makes a finished box of about 2-3/4"x 3"  and holds 7 gold coins.

The trickiest part of this project was the rainbow.  It would have been so much easier if I had the Rainbow Builder Framelit Dies but since I don't I needed to improvise.  I cut strips of Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Emerald Envy, Pacific Point and Eggplant Envy.  I glued them on to a piece of black card stock to keep them together.  I used the same die that I used to cut out the window to cut the edge of the rainbow and hand cut the rainbow using the corner of the box as a guide.

Are you wondering where the "lucky" came from?  It is from the Charming Cafe and is part of the sentiment, "I am Lucky to have a Friend like you".  I used a black marker to color in the word and stamped it.

Wondering how I made the pot and the shamrock?  I used the heart design from the Window Box thinlits to cut out the hearts.

AstheInkDriesshamrocks

This thinlit cuts out 2 sizes of hearts.  I used the larger hearts for the pot.  When I shared this project with  my club some people also made the shamrock with the smaller hearts to put next to the lucky.  It was adorable.

AstheInkDriesPotPieces

AstheInkDriespot

I love my little pot of gold and until I found the real one, this one will do!
