Sharing Sweet Thoughts Split Card

It took me a while to realize that the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set and the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper were meant for each other.

Sharing Sweet Thoughts

We are in the last few weeks of the 2017-18 Annual catalog.  I have separated out the stamp sets that are retiring so I can be sure to stamp with them.  I found the Sharing Sweet Thoughts set and realized it had hardly been used.   This stamp set is the Ronald McDonald House Charities set, which means Stampin' Up! donates $3 to the RMHC for each set that is purchased.

This set also coordinates with the Tutti-frutti 6" x 6" DSP, which is also retiring.   This DSP has great fun and  fruity images as well as more neutral designs on the flip side.

Going to Miss You: Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper

I like to think that the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP) was made just for me.  I love everything about it.  I mean seriously black, white, and Melon Mambo with polka dots, stripes and gold accents, what is not to like?  I was sad to see this lovely pack of paper on the retiring list.  The only good news is that it is at a special price of $7.80, while supplies last.  Be sure to get a pack or 2 before they are gone!

What else did I use on this card that is retiring?   One of my favorite little punches, the Bitty Butterfly!  This little punch is not going to be flying away from my stamp room.  I decided I am going to keep her and she will continue to make appearances on my cards.  One last item I used that is retiring is the sentiment from the Picture Perfect stamp set.  It is hard to find sentiments to fit into the little gap between the panels.  This sentiment is perfect as it is simple but bold font.

Something Old and Something New

Today was the first time I pulled out the Cupcakes and Carousels DSP Stack.   I pulled out the first sheet ( I looked at it from the back to the front) and loved how the 2 patterns looked so good together.  I knew exactly how I wanted to use it and then went looking for just the right image.

I found this image in the Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  Now you might be thinking, "isn't that a retired stamp set?"  Yes, you are right it is.  Somehow  I never pulled this stamp set from my stamp shelf when it retired.   Maybe I chose to ignore the fact that it was retired since I love the images in this set. In fact I didn't really realize it was retired until I looked for it in the current Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

We are in the last few days of Sale-A-Bration 2017!  Many of the SAB choices are no longer available.  Here are the items I know of  that are no longer available:  Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper Pack, Card Tin.  There are still lots of choices available.  You can shop with me online HERE.  Now, I am off to double check the stamps I have on my shelf to make sure they are all still current.  Have a great one!

Pretty Petals Quilt

I love pretty paper.  No surprise, right?  I also tend to hoard my pretty paper.  Sound familiar?   I also keep scraps of my pretty paper.  We are not talking just big scraps but little ones too.   During my recent craft room shake up I found lots of these little bags of scraps.  I tried to throw them away but just couldn't do it.  Today's card is a result of my inability to throw away those bags.  I think I will be making a lot of these cards.

This is the Pretty Petals DSP stack.  I love this paper stack  and sadly it is retiring.  I used the Hexagon punch also retiring and just punched out a lot of hexagons and started arranging them on a piece of cardstock.  It was fun playing around with the placement of the different patterns.   Each card will be a little different.

I used the Floral Frames framelits to make the little flower.  The Floral Frames are also retiring.

Did you see the little strip of DSP inside of the card?  That is why I cannot throw out scraps.  Seriously, I am going to work on being less of a hoarder and enjoy actually playing with my pretty paper.     Be sure to order your retiring products soon.

Perfect Pennants and Floral Frames

Sorry it has been a little quiet around here.  I just got back from a  trip and even though I had planned to post while away there never seemed to be enough time.    The upside of this is that I now have a few cards ready to be shared!   This is a really good thing.  It always takes me a few days to get back into the flow of things after being gone.

Gift Card Enclosure Pack...I'll Miss You!

I have looked at the Stampin' Up! Retiring List a lot and I keep seeing new items that I missed before.  I was surprised to see that the Gift Card Enclosure pack (136662) is on that list!  Tell me it isn't true!  I have made numerous note card holders with it and probably one of my favorite projects, a get well gift. These projects were posted here last year.  I am sharing them again as a tribute to the versatile Gift Card Enclosure!

Remember this note card holder?  I think the only thing retiring on this project is the gift card enclosure.  Wait, the sentiment on the note card is from the Sumthin' Sumthin' (134525) set

Flower Patch&Gift Card Enclosure

On this post there is even a quick tutorial on how to score the gift card enclosure to make the holder.

This gift card enclosure turned get well gift is fun and easy to make!

Lattice Window and the Watercolor Wonder DSP

My stamp room is a room divided.  The lines have been drawn between current and retiring products, what is staying and what needs to go.  I find myself using bits and pieces from both and going through the mental list of all the cards I have meant to make and just haven’t done.  The lattice window card is one of those cards since the Lattice die is retiring.  Mixing a little current with the retiring.
