Stampers Dozen Blog Hop...Something New for the New Year!

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that hop together  on the 14th of the month. This month our theme is Something New for the New Year!  We have a new Mini Catalog debuting in January as well as Sale-A-Bration so there is now shortage of new things to share.

Adorable_Owls_Dandy_Designs_DSP_Fresh_Freesia

I couldn't resist playing with the Adorable Owls stamp set.  This set is part of the Sale-A-Bration offerings starting on January 5th 2023.  What is Sale-A-Bration?  During January and February 2023 with every $50 or $100 you spend (before tax and shipping) you will be able to choose a free Sale-A-Bration product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The Adorable Owls is one of those products available free with a $50 order.

Here I stamped all three of the owls and colored them with Smoky Slate, Fresh Freesia, and Pool Party Stampin' Blends.  The owls were all fussy cut, sadly there are no dies for the owls!  I added a little cake and balloons from the This Birthday Piggy stamp set and cut out using the Playful Piggy Dies.  Last time  I checked the Playful Piggy dies are still available on the Clearance Rack  for $12.40!  What an incredible deal.  The Playful Piggy die set has 18 dies all for $12.40!  Hard to beat that.

The sweet Fresh Freesia DSP is from another Sale-A-Bration choice, the Dandy Designs 12" x 12" DSP.  This choice is free with a $100 purchase.  The paper pack has 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs.  The colors in this paper pack: Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral, Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, and Petal Pink.  Here i used 3 different patterns in Fresh Freesia.

Now it is time to check out the rest of the hop!

Thank you for stopping by!

Sale-A-Bration 2018...Springtime Foils DSP

The Springtime Foils Specialty DSP is so pretty.   Part of me wants to hoard it because I know I won't be able to get it after Sale-A-Bration ends.  I am trying to fight that feeling and just enjoy the loveliness while I can.

AstheInkDriesCalypsoCoralfoils

Quick and easy card that uses 3 Sale-A-Bration choices!

AstheInkDriesCalypsofoilssideproducts

The beautiful foil images were colored using the Calypso Coral and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.   This card would work for lots of different occasions.  I plan to make more in different colors and not stamp a sentiment until I am ready to send the card.

Product List

Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31.  Don't wait too long to place your order for your free Sale-A-bration gift with a $50 order, items are only available while supplies last.

Blossoming Basket Bundle

Let's talk about the Blossoming Basket Bundle.  This bundle is not available for purchase, it is a FREE gift available during Sale-A-Bration when you place a order of $100.  The bundle includes the Blossoming Basket stamp set which is a 5 piece set and the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing folder.   AstheInkDriesBlossomingBasket3-6

Don't you love the basket weave texture with the basket image?  This image is easy to color especially with Stampin' Blends.  I used the Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Combo Packs and the Old Olive and Night of Navy Light Stampin' Blends.  The stamp set  includes two sentiments.  The "for you" on the card is part of the  sentiment that says, "Here for you".   I wanted a  generic sentiment since I am not sure who I am sending this to.  Love the versatility.

We are in the last month of Sale-A-Bration.  Be sure to place your order soon, to avoid any disappointment. The Basket Weave Dynamic embossing folder will be available in the 2018-19 annual catalog.  Unfortunately the Blossoming Basket stamp set will not so if you love how the two products coordinate be sure to get the bundle during Sale-A-Bration.

Blossoming Basket and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #499

It is time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #499 and oh my, what a challenge it is or at least it was for me!

AstheInkDriesCCMC499

I am using the beautiful new stamp set, Blossoming Basket.  This lovely stamp set is a bundled with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Embossing folder and is one of the 3 items added to the Sale-A-Bration choices.  This bundle is free with a $100 order during Sale-A-Bration.

Back to the challenge.  This week it is a color challenge and looking at my card I am not sure you would be able to figure out what 3 colors were in the challenge.

Ccmc499

I think Sweet Sugarplum looks great with the Pool Party and I think Pool Party looks good with Flirty Flamingo but I am still not sure if Flirty Flamingo looks good with Sweet Sugarplum.  I totally took the easy way out and just used the Sweet Sugarplum and the Pool Party as little accents and focused on the Flirty Flamingo.  The 3 large flowers are all colored with Flirty Flamingo ink refill and an Aqua Painter.  I played with different amounts of water and ink to get 3 different shades.

AstheInkDriesCCMC499side

Along the edge of the card I used one of the Petal Pair embossing folders.  The Flirty Flamingo striped ribbon makes me think of springtime.  The three little dots were made by cutting out the circles using one of the dies in the Mini Treat Bag thinlits.  I attached the dots to the card and then carefully added Fine-Tip glue over the top of them to make them shine.

Be sure to head over to the Create with Connie and Mary blog and check out what the other members of the design team created.  So many good ideas that I wish I had thought of!

Springtime Foils Specialty DSP

I am totally smitten with the new Springtime Foils DSP!  This is one of the new Sale-A-Bration offerings and it is gorgeous!

AstheInkDriesSpringtimeFoils1

There are 4 single sided foil designs and you get 3 of each design.  I used 2 of the designs on this card.  Beautiful paper like this makes card making easy.  The only stamping I did was the sentiment and I also added one of the Petal Passion Embellishments.

AstheInkDriesSpringtimeFoils1side

This picture does a better job of showing off the beautiful foil designs on the paper.  The other two designs are rose gold foil and they are so pretty.  The paper is also a heavier weight and would make great boxes, bags as well as cards. This pack of Springtime Foils Specialty DSP is free with a $50 order and available while supplies last.

Heartfelt Blooms and the Triple Time Stamping

The Heartfelt Blooms stamp set is an elegant and beautiful stamp set.  It is a set that lends itself to lots of different techniques.

AstheInkDriesHeartfeltBlooms2-7

This technique is called Triple Time stamping. It is very easy and I think it looks great with this set.  Here are the measurements for the different layers.

Very Vanilla: (cut 2) 4" x 5-1/4",  3" x 4-1/4",  2" x 3-1/4"

Basic Gray: 4-1/4" x 11"  (scored at 5-1/2"),  3-1/4" x 4-1/2", 2-1/4" x 3-1/2"

Place all the Very Vanilla layers on top of each other like they are in the completed card minus the Basic Gray layers.  You might want to secure each piece down with a tiny bit of adhesive.  Stamp the sentiment and then stamp  the flower as shown in the sample. Stamp a few random splatters with the Timeless Texture stamp.  Carefully separate the layers and now layer the largest vanilla piece on to the cardbase.  Layer the middle vanilla piece on to the Basic Gray layer and tie a bow using the Basic Gray ribbon from the Shimmer Ribbon pack.  Apply adhesive and secure it down, taking card to line up the images.  Layer the smallest vanilla piece to the Basic Gray layer and attach it to the middle layer with Stampin' Dimensionals. Stamp the remaining Very Vanilla piece and then adhere it to the inside of the card.

This project uses 2 Sale-A-Bration products and they are 2 of my favorites.  When you place a $50 order you are eligible to receive one of these fabulous products free.  If you place a $100 order you can choose both of these products for free.  Sale-A-Bration is a great time to be a customer, hostess and/or a demonstrator.

Heartfelt Blooms Glitter Panels

Sale-A-Bration is in full swing!  There are so many great options to choose from.  Heartfelt Blooms is one of my favorites (yes, I know I have a lot of favorites) and it is so pretty and interesting too.  The way the stamp is created it lays down the ink in different opacities which means some areas are darker or lighter.   You stamp like normal and the stamp does all the work.  I love a stamp that does all the work for me.

AstheInkDriesHeartfeltBloomsglitterpanels

What do you think?  It took me a bit to figure out the correct measurements and then once I had the image cut up I decided to glitter them.

All About the Paper:

Very Vanilla Thick 4-1/4" x 11 scored at 5-1/2",  3-3/8" x 3-3/4" these are the panels and are cut again to measure 1-1/8" x 3-3/4", scrap for the sentiment

Basic Black  3-3/4" x 5"

Berry Burst 4" x 5-1/4" and scrap for scallop oval

To glitter the image I inked up the entire strip with VersaMark and then embossed it using a mix of Clear Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  I start with a  1-1 mix and then add more embossing powder as needed.  I call this mix Glittery Goodness.  Stampin' Up! used to sell an embossing powder called Iridescent Ice which is the inspiration for Glittery Goodness.

Amazing You and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #495

I know you have heard me say this many a time, this week's challenge was a tough one for me.  Strangely enough I had a concept of what I wanted to make and the card actually came together pretty easily.  The tough part was deciding if I liked the card I made.  I went from thinking I should probably make another sample to I like it.

AstheInkDriesCCMC495

Here are the colors for the Challenge.

CCMC495

Are you wondering where these colors are from?  I think they were inspired by the colors in the Painted with Love DSP.

I embossed the flower from the  Amazing You  Sale-A-Bration set with gold embossing powder on Shimmery White card stock.  To color the flowers I used an Aqua Painter and Rich Razzleberry ink refill.  I fussy cut the flowers and surrounded them with gold foil leaves cut using the Eclectic Layers Thinlits.  The "love" die cut is from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits and cut it in both gold foil and Melon Mambo.  The Melon Mambo was laid on top of the gold foil to give it a gold shadow.

AstheInkDriesCCMC495side

This is what I really like about participating in challenges.  They force me to stretch and try new combinations and ideas.  Sometimes they turn out, sometimes they don't, either way I learn something.

This week you really need to check out what the other members of the design team created.  The cards are all so different and inspiring.

Flying Home and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #494

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #494!

AstheInkDriesCCMC494

If you haven't guessed by now I have been having so much fun with the Flying Home stamp set.  The images are so sweet and coloring can be quick or more detailed, either way it seems to turn out.  I do wish there were coordinating framelits so it would be easier to cut out those cute little birds, bee and butterflies.

Did you notice that I used a bird from the A Good Day set?  She's the Pool Party and Daffodil Delight bird on the lower left.   I thought she looked like she belonged with this flock.   The background paper is from the Sale-A-Bration paper pack, Bubbles & Fizz.  This DSP is free with a $50 purchase and coordinates with the Bubble Over stamp set.   The gorgeous Pool Party ribbon is part of the Shimmer Ribbon pack which is another Sale-A-Bration choice.

This was a fun card to make and here's this week's sketch.

CCMC494

Be sure to check out what the other design team members created for this sketch.   I hope you will join in and  post what you create on the Create with Connie and Mary Facebook page.

Flying Home and the Petal Garden DSP Stack

Everyday I go for a walk.  I have been pretty lucky this winter and have been able to get out and walk in between rain showers.  Today I wasn't so lucky.  While I was out walking (in the rain) I started thinking about spring.  Once I got home and got dried off I made this card.

AstheInkDriesFlyingHome

I used the lovely Petal Garden DSP stack with the super cute Flying Home stamp set.  Don't they look like they were made for each other?  I colored in the image using the Stampin' Blends.

AstheInkDriesFlyingHomeside

I used the Calypso Coral ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack.  This ribbon is very easy to work with and makes very pretty bows.

Product List

It was fun to mix products from the Annual catalog, Occasions catalog, and Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Remember you can receive the Shimmer Ribbon pack for free with a $50 purchase.  If you need any of the catalogs and do not have a SU demonstrator I would be happy to send them to you.

Picture Perfect Birthday and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #493

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #493.  This week it is a Color Challenge.

AstheInkDriesCCMC493

The challenge colors are Old Olive, Marina Mist and Calypso Coral.

CCMC493

The first thing I thought of was the paper from the Bubbles and Fizz DSP.  The Bubbles and Fizz DSP pack is really fun and bright.  This is one of the Sale-A-Bration choices which means you can get it for free with a $50 order.  I love the hearts and was reminded by one of my team members that this design works beautifully for Valentine's too.

AstheInkDriesCCMC493close

I used images from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set in the challenge colors.  Once I completed the stamping I covered the circle in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with a mix of Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Clear Embossing powder.  I think the glittery embossing livens up the card.  One of the things I really like about the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set is the sentiments.  I always like when fonts are mixed in a sentiment and I especially like this hand lettered font.

AstheInkDriesCCMC493side

I finished off the card tying a bow using the 3/8" Classic Weave ribbon.  This ribbon is super soft and easy to tie.  This is a quick card with a little bit of glittery appeal.

I hope you will join in the challenge and be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created for the challenge.  I think you will be inspired.
