Stamp Set Flower Shop

Two of My Favorite New Things!

If you visit my blog regularly you know that I use the color combination Basic Black, Whisper White and Real Red a lot.  It is such a classic combination.  I wondered, okay worried a little that the new Stampin' Up! catalog might not have a good Black and White Designer Series Paper.  Can I tell you how happy and relieved I was to see the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP?   In this pack of paper there are some great black and white classic designs, a couple of amazing white with gold foil designs, Melon Mambo and White designs and a few sheets with White,  Black and Melon Mambo.

Flower Shop&Pop ofPink DSP

I combined the Pop of Pink DSP with the Flower Shop set and Pansy punch.  What do you think of the black and white stripe with the Melon Mambo and white dots?  It is definitely a  bold combination.   Hard to ignore for sure.  I haven't used Melon Mambo very much in the past but with the Pop of Pink DSP it will definitely become one of my favorites.

I also used my favorite Layering Squares Framelits dies.  You now know 2 of my very favorite things in the new Stampin' Up! catalog, Pop of Pink DSP and Layering Squares Framelit dies.  I just received my first order from the new catalog so stay tuned to see what else is on my very favorite list.

Choose Happiness and Flower Shop

This card looked way better in my head than it does in real life. There is just something about it that isn't quite right.  I have fussed with it a lot and my sharing it with you means I am putting it aside and will stop messing with it.

It's Clear to Me

Clear Card

Now, you can clearly understand the title of  this post.    I used Window Sheets as the card base for this card.   The card base measures 4" x8".  You can get 4 card bases out of 1 Window sheet.  Classic ink will not dry on the Window sheet so I used White Stazon ink to stamp the image from the Flowering Flourishes set.

The flowers are stamped on the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series paper and punched out using the Pansy punch.

Here's the list of the supplies used to make this card.  You can click on the links for more information about the products and order them online.

It's Live...the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!

Today is the first day to order from the Holiday Catalog!  This catalog is stuffed with so many cool stamps and accessories it is hard to see them all!.   I will do my best to share with you  lots of samples from the new Holiday catalog.

Flower Shop with love thinlit

Check out the LOVE!  This is from the new Expressions Thinlits Dies (132171) .  The other words in the set are "thankful" and " merry" and it is on page 36 of the Holiday Catalog.  These are beautiful and add a lot of impact.   Be sure to use a piece of waxed paper between the paper and the die.  This will help release the paper from the die.  There are also little holes in the thinlit and if you poke a pin in those holes the paper will pop right out.  I know I am going to have a lot of fun with these new dies!

DId you notice the little bit of bling on the flowers?  Here's how I made that.  I embossed some black card stock with Irisdescent Ice embossing powder and punched it out using the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack.  I layered the blingy black onto a 1/2" circle of Silver Glimmer paper.  Love the sparkle and it does not add much bulk to the card.

Flower Shop and Chalk Talk

Flower Shop window card

In a few short days I will be heading to the Stampin' Up! Convention.   This means the next few days will be very busy trying to get ready to go.  I am scheduling some posts to go up while I am gone and I want to make some  cards to trade at Convention.   So far I am doing way better on the scheduling of posts.  My swap card total to date is zero!  I do have a plan and hopefully if all goes according to my plan I will have a positive number to report soon.

Yippee-Skippee Hack

When i first saw the Yippee-Skippee stamp set I knew it had to be mine.  If you have been around me lately you know my love-hate relationship with carbs and you have heard the whole range of ideas I have tried regarding carbs.  So "carbs, schmarbs! Eat the Cake" seemed so perfect.   I will definitely be using that on the next birthday cards I make.  It is strange that the 2 sentiments that I did not think I would use that much were the two that I used first.

Flower Garden & Yippee Skippee front
Can you see what I did?  Thank goodness for markers!  I did have to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the "You" but I love the new saying it created.  It is going to be SO FUN coming up with new sayings from the Yippee Skippee stamp set.

I wanted  the centers of the flower to pop and be a little glitzy.  Here's how I created the look. First I embossed a strip of black card stock with some Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Don't have any Iridescent Ice embossing powder?  You can make your own if you have Clear embosing powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter, just mix  a little bit of each together in a seperate container.  The Clear embossing powder will hold the glitter in place as it melts.   I used the circle punch that comes in the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack and punched out the glittery black circle and then layered on to 1/2" circle cut from the Silver Glimmer paper.

Welcome to my Flower Shop

Flower Shop Real Red

Hello!  Welcome to my Flower Shop!  This is a brand new stamp set called Flower Shop and it has a coordinating punch, Pansy.    I love when I have a punch or Big Shot die /framelit to cut out the image for me.  Now I don't mind a little fussy cutting every once in a while but given a choice I would much prefer a punch or die to do the work for me.

The Flower Shop set has 6 different flowers that all coordinate with the punch.  I used three of the images on this card.   It is pretty easy to see two of the images but can you find the third?

So, did you find the third image I used from the Flower Shop set? Look closely at the leaves.  See the leaves with the lines?  That's it!  I cut apart the petals to make the leaves.
