Hi There Mixed Bunch

I think something strange is going on with Feedburner.  I just received an email for a post I did back in July.  If you are a subscriber to my blog are you getting emails for old posts?  Let me know so I can investigate the problem, thanks!

2014-16 In Colors Blackberry Bliss & Hello Honey

I am doing a little sneak peeking at the new In Colors for 2014-2016.  I am loving the color combination of Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.   They are very warm colors and they look so good together.

     Blackberry Bliss&Hello Honey

Let's dissect the card and see what all is new.

Blackberry Bliss&Hello Honey new product arrows

Are you wondering how I cut the tag?

Blackberry Bliss & Hello Honey Cutting the tag

Cut the card stock a smidge smaller than the framelit opening.  On this tag it was a smidge less than 2-3/4".  Thread the card stock through the framelit as shown above.  Run it through your Big Shot with the point heading in first.  Listen for the framelit cutting the edge.  Once you hear the card stock being cut, stop and reverse it out of the Big Shot.  This will prevent the impression of the framelit from showing on your tag.

     Blackberry Bliss&Hello Honey Glitter Accent

I love the glittery center of the card.  I use this idea a lot and it is so easy.  Apply VersaMark ink directly on some Blackberry Bliss card stock.  Cover the VersaMark ink with Irisdescent Ice embossing powder and then heat set it.  If you are like me you will have lots of glittery strips on hand ready to add to your projects when you need just a little more.

Mixed Bunch and Feels Good

By the time you read this I will be in Salt Lake City anxiously awaiting the start of the Stampin' Up! Convention.

Mixed Bunch top 3 card march 13

All the stress of preparing for the event will be forgotten and replaced by feeling of excitement and happiness.  Friendships will be rekindled and new ones made.  I will be surrounded by so much creative energy and I plan to soak it all in.  Wouldn't it be great to have a creativity reservoir?  I plan to post an occasional update to my Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/astheinkdries.  Most of all I just want to bask in the comraderie and energy of being surrounded by other people who love working with their hands and making stuff with stamps, ink and paper. Sounds pretty awesome, right?  A little part of me will have wished that I made more swaps or did more of whatever but I am going to really try and just focus on being there and soaking it all in.   Wish me luck.

Mailable Monday Mixed Bunch

Have a lot of scrap pieces of Designer Series Paper that you just cannot throw out?  Here is a card that uses those little pieces of DSP.

Mixed bunch night of navy

Another quick and easy card that does not require extra postage!  I used the Pocketful of Posies DSP and cut some strips that were 2"  high and random widths.  I pieced them together on a strip of Soft Suede measuring 2 3/8" x 5 1/2".  I stamped the Mixed Bunch stamp in Night of Navy on Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the flower again in Poppy Parade and punched it out with a 3/4" circle punch and attached to th middle of the Night of Navy flower with dimensionals.  Stamp the sentiment from Delightful Dozen and the emboss the front of the card with the Perfect Polka Dot TIEF.  I attached the Soft Suede strip with SNAIL adhesive and then used Stampin Dimensionals to  attach the Mixed Bunch flower.

Mixed bunch night of navy inside

This is the inside of the card.  Just added a strip of DSP and Soft Suede and the center of the flower inked in Poppy Parade.

Another quick and easy card to make when you have a lot of DSP scraps.  Remember the Mixed Bunch stamp set and Blossoms punch are in the Occasions Mini Catalog which will be ending at the end of the month.    We have not heard if it will be carried over or not so don't take a chance!

Mixed Bunch in Gray and Daffodil Delight

Just stopping by for a quick post.  I am off to take a photography class in hopes of improving my  skills.  I just received the Basic Gray Satin ribbon and have been itching to use it so I did.

Mixed bunch gray and yellow

Definitely a quick card. I love the Basic Gray ribbon and from what I have been reading this is an "in" color combination.

Here's waht I used.

Stamps: Mixed Bunch and Loving Thoughts
Ink: Whisper White Craft ink, Stazon Black, Basic Gray
Paper: Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight
Punches: Blossom
Extras: Basic Gray satin ribbon and Glimmer Brads Neutral

Hope your Sunday is a wonderful one!

CPC Mixed Bunch Window Box and Cards

Today I want to share with you the project I designed for Craft Project Central.

Mixed Bunch Window Box & Cards

Spring is just around the corner so let’s get ready by stamping some bright and cheerful cards!  With this project you’ll make a fun box and three different card designs.  Each of the cards has a little twist that makes them different from the standard card!  This box and cards set makes a great gift and a fun class.  To get the directions to make this project just go to Craft Project Cnetral and subscribe to the month of March.   I had a lot of fun creating this project and I hope you will enjoy making it!

Mixed Bunch and the Lattice die

This morning in an effort to work on my 12 in 12 list for February I went to an exercise class at the gym.  Classes work a lot better for me since I hate leaving in the middle of class so I force myself to stay for the whole thing.   There is no doubt in my mind that I will be hurting in the morning.   Sometimes i wonder about the wisdom of this 12 in 12 list!

I am still stamping with the Mixed Bunch set.  It is definitely on my love it list.

Mixed Bunch with lattice
Pretty simple and don't you just love the lattice die?  One of my downline, who will remain nameless told me that she just does not get the lattice die.  I plan to overwhelm her with lattice die cards until she says "Auntie".    I liked the way this looked but it did feel like it was missing something so....

Mixed Bunch with lattice&pearls

I added a few more pearls.  What do you think?  Was it a good addition or is there something else I should consider doing?  Let me know what you think.

Supplies:
Stamps: Mixed Bunch
Ink: Black Craft Ink
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Pool Party, First Edition Specialty DSP
Big Shot: Lattice die
Punch: Blossom punch
Extras: Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Large Basic Pearls

Be back tomorrow since on my February 12 in 12 list is to blog everyday.  I have already fallen behind on that one so one of these days I will have to do a Two-A-Day.   I have to tell you that I have got to do better with the things I put on my 12 in 12 list.  Why didn't I include things like eat some fantastic chocolate at least 3 times a week?  Now there's something I would have been able to accomplish!

Mixed Bunch and Blossom Builders

This month I am trying a 12 in 12 list.  I made a list of 12 things I am going to do this month and one of them is to make a scrapbook page or 2.  Modest goal and one I can accomplish.  I kind of cheated since this page was one of the make and takes from Leadership.  I finished this one at home so I am counting it for my 12 in 12 February list.

Leadership 12 8x8

This is one of my favorite pictures of the Boy and my Auntie Gladys.  She  was a beautiful  and kind person.  Today is her birthday and I am feeling a little sad.  She passed away in December and I am so thankful that I got to see her the day before.   She used to always say, "that's wonderful!" and it is something we picked up and whenever we say it to each other it makes us smile and  remember Auntie G.  So today in honor of her tell someone "that's wonderful!"  and mean it and it will make you both smile.

More Thank Goodness for Swaps

I have a 3 more swap cards to share with you from the Stamp Ladies swap.

SL1-12 swap Nancy
This lovely card was stamped by Nancy Dunham.  She  used some of my favorite things from the Occasions Mini Catalog: Mixed Bunch stamp set and the Paper Doily die.  Did you see the cute little brad?  Doesn't it match so perfectly?   That little brad is part of the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack and is one of the things you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration when you place a $50 order.

SL1-12 swap LaureneThis cute card was stamped by Laurene Ako.  She is a new member of the Stamp Ladies team.  I am so proud of her for jumping and participating in the swap.  Didn't she do a great job?  Love the way she used the ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack to make a frame.  Very clever!

SLswap 1-12 mixed bunchHere's my swap card.  Yes, I am kind of fixated with the Mixed Bunch stamp set.  I just love that set and punch.  The colors I used are Blushing Bride and Soft Suede and see the pearl it is also an offering in the Occasions Mini Catalog(page 26).   I took the connected pearls from the Basic Pearls and attached them around the large pearl.

If you ever thought you might like to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator now is the time to really give it some serious consideration.  During Sale-A-Bration you can become a demonstrator for $125.   I would love to talk with you about it.

More Two-A-Days and Thank Goodness for Swaps!

I have now shown you all the beautiful projects availabe to you when you subscribe to  Craft Project Central  for the month of January.   It was really a great months worth of projects.  This means that my Two-A-Days will be coming to an end.  I will continue to post regularly so keep checking on on me.

Here's another card from the Stamp Ladies swap.  This card was made by Gail Kaisaki.

SL1-12 swap Gail
So cute and cheerful.  This card does have a secret and let me show you.

001
Cool huh?  Let me give you the dimensions which will help you see the shape.

It is 8 1/2" wide at the bottom and 4 1/4" at the top.  The length is  8 1/4".
The top score (from the 4 1/4" side) is 2 3/4".
At the bottom it is scored at 2 1/8" from each edge.

This is a really fun card and I am definitely going to make some cards using this template.  Thanks Gail!

Check back with me tomorrow and I will share more of the cards with you.
