The greeting I used is fron the Sweet Essentials stamp set ( 126457 pg 41) and it is 25% off until the end of June.  There are 2 other greetings sets that are also on special and they are Sassy Salutations (126707 pg 39) and Petite Pairs (122497 pg 73).   They are all great sets and if you don't have them you need to get them.

Hope to stamp with you soon!

Papillon Potpourri and the Lattice Die

It is late so this is going to be a quick post.  I haven't used my lattice die in a while so I decided to pull it out and here's what I came up with.

Lots of fun products from the Occasions catalog and the Sale-A-Bration catalog.    Here it is in Island Indigo.

Feel Goods and the Secret Garden

Do you ask yourself, do I really need another flower set?  What makes this floral set special?  Well, I am going to tell you why I bought the Secret Garden Bundle ( stamp set and framelits at a 15% savings!)  I think this is a really great floral set.  In the set there are 3 line  floral images  and 2 bold floral images.  This automaticaly makes it more versatile.  Somedays I like to color and  practice different coloring techniques and then there are times I want to make something quick and bold so with this set you have both of those options.  The other big reason is that there is a framelit that cuts out all the flowers for you and the leaf image.  I don't mind doing some fussy cutting but given a choice I would much rather have a die or punch.  When you purchase both the stamp set and the Framelits (Secret Garden Bundle) you will get 15% savings.

This new Bitty Butterfly punch is my favorite.  I love how it coordinates with the Papillon Potpourri  stamp set.  I just realized that this card also is a mailable card.

If you haven't received a copy of the Occasions catalog and you do not have a Stampin Up Demonstrator let me know and I would be happy to send you one.

Papiillon Potpourri and a Color Challenge

Hard to believe that I am posting 2 days in a row!  I am working on posting more consistently and now that most of our summer travels are over it feels possible.  To achieve this I know I will need some inspiration.  I found the Dynamic Duo Challenge  and knew I wanted to participate.  The challenge this week is to use Certainly Celery and Pretty In Pink.  You can also use neutral colors like Black, White, Vanilla,  Crumb Cake aka as kraft.  On my stamp table I had the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit die, Loving Thoughts and Papillion Potpourri stamp sets.    The die is brand new to me which is why it was on my table and the 2 stamp sets were not completely mounted which is why they were on the table.  I started to think about what Designer Series Paper I had that would fit in this challenge and that is how I came to use the Natural Composition Specialty DSP.

Pip & cc card

I love the embossed detail on the Natural Composition Specialty DSP.  The little shine adds a lot!

Here's a closeup of the butterfly.  I wanted a little glitz so I stamped the butterfly on Card Stock Vellum and embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and layered in on the Pretty in Pink butterfly.

Trying Something New

This is going to be a quick post!  It is thundering and lightening like crazy this morning!   I decided to try my hand at using ink refills and water color paper to see if I could make some cool and simple backgrounds.  Today's sample was my first attempt and well it kinda looks like a  card that would be going to a "Dead" concert.  Know what I mean or am I dating myself too much?

Papillion Potpourri tye die

This was not the background I was going for but its kind of interesting.  I used Daffodil Delight, Tangeringe Tango, and Tempting Turquoise.  Kinda wild huh?

It is sounding worse outside so I am going to sign off now.  Have a groovy day and let me know if you need to order some  fun new stamps or tools!

Papillon Potpourri

There is nothing quite like a good mail day!  There are so  many ways to communicate with friends and family but I still love getting beautiful mail.  You know the feeling of opening up the mailbox and seeing the usual assortment of junk and hidden among the junk you see an envelope with actual handwriting on it!  You know it is going to be good, no doubt about it.   Here's what was in my mailbox the other day.

Papillion Potpourri Limda M

This was sent to me by Linda Macpherson.  Linda is a SU! demonstrator in Maryland and if you follow my blog you know that I met Linda on a SU trip to the Big Island.   I call her the best souvenir from that trip.   Linda is a big believer in the power of a handmade card.  She not only believes but actually send them too!   Awesome, right?

I will do my best to list all the goodies Linda used to make the card.
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Flowering Flourishes, Just Believe
Ink: Midnight Muse
Paper: Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue,  Daffodil Delight
Punches: Boho Blossoms
Big Shot: Fancy Fan TIEF, Floral Frames Framelits
Extras: Brights and Regals Brads, Crochet Trim-Victoria

I love it and am trying to follow her example and send more cards.  Thanks again Linda!
