Stamp Set Regarding Dahlias

Regarding Dahlias and Blendabilities

I am now back in my stamp room after being away on vacation.  It is great to be back playing with stamps, inks and paper!  I took my Blendabilities and some images with me on vacation so I could practice my coloring.  I did not get much practice in but that's okay.  Here's one of the images I did get done.

After I took the above pictures I decided to add some Dazzling Diamonds to the lined sections of the flower.

I know it is difficult to see the glitter.  I need a glitter setting on my camera.

Here you can see the glitter a little bit more, just not the sparkle.  The Blendabilities will not be available when the new Stampin' Up! catalog debuts.  I know that isn't what you wanted to hear.  The bright side is that with the Blendabilities not being avaialble on June 2, you can focus on purchasing other things!  Believe me there is a lot of amazing new products in the 2014-15 Stampin' Up catalog.

Stamps: Regarding Dahlias, A Dozen Thoughts
Ink: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities
Paper: Whisper White,Basic Black, Kaleidoscope DSP

P.S. I am working on cleaning up my blog which is why the sidebars may look a little wonky.  I am going for a cleaner less cluttered look.  Please pardon the mess!

Regarding Dahlias in Pool Party

I am back!  Did you think I decided to stay in Utah and wait until it was time for the 2014 Stampin' Up! Convention?   I did stay a few days after convention to do some touristing around Utah.  We went to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome Basin, Capitol Reef, and then back to Salt Lake City.  We decided that it was time to find out what lay outside of the Convention Center.  It was an amazing trip full of incredible scenery, good company, and a new appreciation for the state of Utah.   One of these days I will share with you the flash flood and some of the animals we saw including a very big creep crawly tarantula.

I finally got back into the stamp room today.  I tried to get stamping earlier but the need to organize all my new goodies from Convention took over and no real stamping was done.   I found some dahlias I had embossed but not colored and used that for my starting point.  Even though I was inspired and treated to so much eye candy during Convention I still found it hard to get started.  Weird huh?

Regarding Dahlias in Pool party closeDid you know that you can get the Core'dinations Card Stock in every color?   You can get a pack for each color collection which has 4 sheets of every color in that collection.  I love that it is sandable and in this card I sanded the embossing to make it more noticeable.  There is also a slight texture to the card stock which is just another fun option.

Regarding Dahlias in Pool Party sideThere are so many fun things coming up and announcements too and I will definitely be sharing them with you but this post is way too long as it is so I will save them for another day.

Regarding Dahlias and a Wild Card

I am just coming up for a little air before I dive back into my craft room.  My box of new stamping goodies arrived yesterday and the paper and ribbon are flying everywhere!   So much fun and I cannot wait to share what I am making with you!

If you follow my blog you know that I love flower stamps.  Yes, I am giving up and  just accepting that I love floral images and I am going to buy them.  No more questioning  do I really need another flower set.  Acceptance is the name of this game.   So, when I saw the Regarding Dahlias (130327) set I was sold.

Isn't that just a stunning dahlia image?  I only wish my coloring was as beautiful as the image.   Now for the wild card.  When I order from a new catalog I look for a set that I like but is not a conventional choice for me, I call it my wild card.   I enjoy the challenge of trying to figure out ways to use it.  My wild card is the Background Builders set(129150).  It has a lot of potential and I look forward  to figuring out how to really use it.
