Stampers Dozen Blog Hop...Fun Fold

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are  hopping with excitement to share with you some fun fold cards.  The problem with our theme is trying to decide what fold to use, there are so many fun ones!

SnailedIt-SDBH

Snailed It!  This cute little snail was fussy cut from the Snail Mail DSP.  I kind of botched up cutting around his eyes so googly eyes to the rescue.   The googly  eyes  definitely added some personality.  The Blushing Bride speech bubble was cut using the Snail dies and the Real Red heart was cut using the Many Hearts dies.

SnailedIt-SDBH-open

Inside you will see this is a tunnel card.  Lots of fun cutouts from the Snail Mail DSP.   The fun sentiment is from the Many Messages stamp set.  Many Messages is 1 big stamp.  There are 19 sentiments on it, 3 stars, and a heart for a total of 23 images and there is a coordinating Messages die that cuts out all of the images at one time!   Of course it is available as a bundle so you can save 10%.

SnailedIt-tunnel-back

Here is the back of the card, where you can write a message.  The sentiment here is also from the Many Messages bundle.  This card stands up on its own but also folds flat and fits in an A-2 envelope.  Love a fun fold that can be easily mailed

Now it is time to see what Joanne has created for you!

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the first Stampers Dozen Blog Hop of 2021!  We are here to Sale-A-Brate!  Sale-A-Bration is such a fun time to be a customer and a demonstrator.  Sale-A-Bration lasts for 2 months (January-February)  and this year there will be ANOTHER Sale-A-Bration July-August!  I love that SU! is changing things.

Flower&Field-DandyGarden-foldovercard

I am back using the Flower & Field DSP available during Sale-A-Bration.  This pack of paper is lovely and it is one of my favorites.  I love the florals and the coordinating patterns side too.  I used the dragonfly and punch  from the Dragonfly Garden bundle and a sentiment from the Garden Wishes set.  These 2 stamp sets are all part of the Dandy Garden suite and coordinate so beautifully.  You will be seeing lots more of these 2 bundles.

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop...Holiday Happenings

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop!  The theme this month is Holiday Happenings.  Here we will be enjoying lots of family time and being cozy at home.  How about you?

ComingHome-SDBHDec

I made a little pocket using the Trimming the Town DSP.  This DSP is great to use in this way since it has such fun designs on both sides of the paper.  You just need to make sure that the design is going in the correct direction.  I cut the DSP 4" x 11" and scored it at 1-1/4" & 5-1/2".  This is a little narrower than the usual A-2 card but these measurements uses the DSP a little more efficiently and allows me to get 3 of these pockets from 1 sheet of DSP.  The card is held together by the Real Red Sheer ribbon.  The sides of the pocket are not glued together.

ComingHome-SDBHDec-open

The sentiments are from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set.  The Real Red layer measures 5-1/4" x 3-3/4" and the Whisper White measures 5-1/8" x 3-5/8".  All the corners were rounded using the Detailed Trio punch.

This card is a great way to use the beautiful Designer Series Paper that Stampin' Up!® offers.  The only leftover you have is a 1" x 12" strip.

Now it is time for you to check out what the talented Carol Payne has created for you!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Christmas in July

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month's theme is Christmas in July.   Wait, I am not even ready to start thinking about Christmas.  I have a few Christmas stamp sets from prior years but somehow that didn't feel right, then an idea came to me.

AstheInkDries-ArtfullyFolded

I just received the hostess reward set, Artfully Folded and thought it would be a  great set to use for Christmas.  Origami cranes are a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times.  It is believed that if you fold a 1000 origami cranes your wish will come true.  In fact when we got married (it will be 32 years this September) friends of mine folded 1000 gold cranes for us.  At our reception I had strings of gold cranes hanging from a white paper umbrella.  It was beautiful and full of so many wishes for a happy life.

IMG_5263

All the images on the card are embossed in silver embossing powder.  If you look very closely you can see a few flecks of glitter in the swirl image (Star of Light stamp set).  I mixed in some Dazzling Diamonds glitter with the silver embossing powder.  I wanted to add just a little more shine to the star swirl.  Do you see the shimmer in the crane?  I first colored in the crane using Wink of Stella.  It was pretty but very subtle.  I had a Wink of Stella that was pretty much empty and one of my team members reminded me that I could add some alcohol to it and even some ink refill, so I did.  I filled the Wink of Stella pen with alcohol and added a drop of Smoky Slate ink refill.  The result is a silvery Wink of Stella shine.  Love it!

AstheInkDriesSDBHPandaParty

I am using the super adorable Party Pandas set!  I think pandas are the perfect animals after all they are black and white and you know how much I love a black and white color scheme.

AstheInkDriesSDBHPartyPandas2

 This is a tri-fold card.  I started with a 4-1/4" x 11" card base and scored it at 4-1/4"  and 8-1/2".

AstheInkDriesSDBHPandaParty3

The DSP is from the Petal Passion DSP pack and you know this is a favorite of mine.

AstheInkDriesSDBHPartyPandas4

The sweet little sentiment is from the very useful Teeny Tiny Wishes.   This is a set that I know will have the sentiment I am looking for.   The Red Glimmer Paper heart was cut out using the Mini Treat Bag thinlits.

Are wondering how you can get your own Party Pandas stamp set?  You can get this stamp set FREE!  Yes, free.  You just need to place a $50 order  (before shipping and tax) and you qualify to get this set at no cost.  This is all part of the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion!  If you do not have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator you currently with, I would love to help you.

Now it is time for you to hop along and see what the talented Laura Milligan has created.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Color Challenge

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  The theme for this month is a color challenge!  Ready for the colors?  Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, and Very Vanilla.   Yummy colors right?

I decided to use one of my favorite sets from the Stampin' Up! Annual catalog which was released, way back in June! Doesn't  it seem so much longer ago than that?

AstheInkDriesSDBH917

Tranquil Tulips is still one of my favorite hostess sets.  I think it looks quite elegant in this color combination.  If you are wondering why it looks a little grainy it is because it is covered in Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Clear embossing powder.  It is very sparkly!

I used the Diagonal Stripe background stamp to create my own DSP (designer series paper).  Love the look of the Fresh Fig ink on the Fresh Fig card stock.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Holiday Catalog Inspiration

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are giving you a sneak peek into the upcoming Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  Every stop along the hop will feature some of the fun and fabulous products that can be found in the "Creativity Delivered" 2017 Holiday Catalog.  The catalog will go live on September 1 and run through January 2, 2018.   This catalog is packed with so much holiday goodness that you will be covered from  Halloween to Valentine's Day!  As a demonstrator I was able to pre-order products from this catalog and all I can say is that it was my largest pre-order to date!  Once you see the catalog I think you will totally understand why.

The biggest problem I had was trying to decide what to share with you for this hop.  I decided to start with Halloween.  I know not everyone enjoys Halloween but the beauty of this bundle, Season to Sparkle is that you can use it for lots of other occasions not just Halloween.  I will be sharing more ideas with you in upcoming posts.

AstheInkDriesSeasontoSparklespider

A spooky chandelier!  The Season to Sparkle stamp set has 25 photopolymer stamps.  There are sentiments and lots of different bling to decorate your chandelier.  The chandelier in the stamp set is different than the one in the coordinating thinlits.  In other words the thinlit doesn't cut out the stamped image.  This gives you 2 different chandeliers to play with!  All the other pieces coordinate with the stamped and die cut chandelier.  Lots of possibilities to create lots and lots of fun chandeliers.

AstheInkDriesSeasontoSparklespider3

I love this fun fold.  It is fun to receive and open and like a lot of fun folds easy to make.  The hardest part may be choosing which of the fabulous designs in the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper to feature.

AstheInkDriesSeasontoSparklespider4

Here are the measurements if you want to recreate this card fold.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...June Edition

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!   This month's theme is masculine cards.   Yikes!   Fortunately, I had an idea which actually passed the masculine card judge aka as my husband.

Marbled background www.sharonburkert.com

I kept the card very simple focusing on a strong color combination and the gorgeous marbled background.  Before you go looking at your catalog to see what pack of Designer Series paper this is from, I will tell you it is a stamp!  This is the new Marbled background stamp.  I know, it is amazing!  This is going to be a fun stamp to play with.

Marbled background www.sharonburkert.com

Since the card is pretty simple I decided that adding a little fun fold would make it a little more interesting.

Marbled background www.sharonburkert.com

I have featured this fold before and have even written a tutorial for it!  You can see other ideas using this fold here,  here, and here.  If you are interested in the tutorial here is the link.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Sneak Peeks

www.sharonbukert.com

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are sharing Sneak Peeks of products that are featured in the upcoming 2017-18 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.   As SU demonstrators we were able to pre-order a selection of products that will be in the new catalog.  The catalog will go live on June 1!

It was a difficult decision trying to decide what stamp set to share for my project.  I decided on Tranquil Tulips, which is one of the new stamp sets available as part of the hostess reward program.   I couldn't wait to get a hold of this stamp set.  I love the water colorish,  dreamy look  of the flowers.

Tranquil Tulips www.sharonburkert.com Berry Burst

I used the new In Color 2017-19 In Color, Berry Burst.  Love this happy and bright color.  Here's a rundown of the products Berry Burst products I used. The new 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon available in the new In Colors is a dream to tie.  See the strip of DSP?  That is from the Color Theory DSP stack.  I used one more item in Berry Burst but you will have to to see it.

Tranquil Tulip www.sharonburkert.com

Now you can see the Berry Burst Glitter Enamel Dots.   The sentiment is from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  You can see the Eastern Palace bundles that are available now for you to purchase.  These special bundles are only available in May.

Tranquil Tulips SDBHup side

Tranquil Tulips is a 2 step stamp set.  I inked the detailed image in VersaMark ink and then in Berry Burst ink. I  heat embossed the image in a mix of  Clear embossing powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I thought a little bit of sparkle would be pretty.

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek of one of the stamp sets you could choose as part of your hostess rewards.  The hostess reward stamps in this catalog are fantastic.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...April Edition

Blog hop header

Welcome to the April edition of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are all using one or more of the following stamp sets:

Dragonfly Dreams
Jar of Love
Banners for You
Touches of Texture
Swirly Bird
Beautiful You

Jar of Love stamp set www.sharonburkert.com

I decided to use a set that I have not used much lately, Jar of Love.  I didn't want to use the jar image and instead wanted to create a springtime wreath.   I used one of the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits as the wreath form and built my wreath on it.

Jar of Love www.sharonburkert.com

There was definitely a lot of die cutting going on!  Lots and lots of leaves were stamped and cut, this could be why I chose not to cover the entire wreath with flowers and leaves.
