Fluffiest Friends Sending Love

Ready for another Festive Friday challenge?   What is the Festive Friday challenge?  The Festive Friday challenge is a bi-weekly challenge that is inspired by a holiday/festivity.  An Inspo list of 10 items is created using the festivity as its inspiration.  To play in the challenge you need to use 3 items from the Inspo list on your project and enter it in the Festive Friday gallery.  We love seeing what you choose from the Inspo list and look forward to seeing what you create.

FF151

What a fun Inspo List!  I chose from the list Red, Pearls, Love Sentiment, Hearts, and Birds.

Nuts About Squirrels

The Nuts About Squirrels  stamp set debuted in the 2021 July-December Mini Catalog.  I was tempted to get it but never did.  When I saw that it was being carried over (see page 75 of the 2022 J-J catalog)I knew I had to get it.

NutsAboutSquirrels-FF

This card was made for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF102.  What is the Festive Friday Challenge?  The Festive Friday Challenge is the challenge with the Inspo List.  The Inspo List is a list of 10 items that were inspired by a festivity.  You need to use 3 items from the Inspo List on your project.  Here's a link to all  the info on participating in the challenge.

FF102

I used Red, Pink, Sparkle, Ribbon, Hearts, and Cute.  I am not sure the sentiment I used would be considered romantic but maybe?

NutsABoutSquirrels-FF-side

The paper is from the Sweet Talk DSP pack.  Such a cute pack of paper that can be used beyond Valentine's Day.  The ribbon is the Real Red Faux Linen and it is a dream to tie bows with. I confess that I had to dip into my stash of retired Glimmer papers for the Real Red Glimmer paper used for the heart and the scallop around the circle.  The heart die I used to cut the glittery heart is from the Give It A Whirl dies.

NutsAboutSquirrels-FF-open

Inside I added a strip of the DSP and another red glittery heart.

Awesome Otters...Guess Who Loves You?

Yesterday I posted two cards featuring the Awesome Otters stamp set and the Sweet Talk DSP.  I actually made 3 cards using the same supplies.  Here is the third card I made.

Awesome_Otters_Sweet_Talk_DSP-Banner_Year

Here's a little funny about this card.  I showed this card to my son and he said he thought the gophers were pretty cute.  I laughed and told him they were otters and he said they look like gophers.  If you didn't know they were otters, they do look like gophers!  Without the clues of the long tail, fish or water they could pass as gophers.

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk_DSP-Banner_Year-side

I used 2 more patterns from the Sweet Talk DSP and fussy cut some hearts too.  The sentiment is from the Banner Year stamp set.  I cut the sentiment apart so I could have the one otter/gopher holding it like a banner.

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk_DSP-Banner_Year-open

Inside another strip of DSP and a fussy cut heart.  Simple and cute way to dress up the inside of the card.

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk_DSP-Banner_Year-graphic

The Awesome Otters stamp set is a Sale-A-Bration choice and free with a qualifying order of $50 (US).  If you like cute animals then this just might be a perfect set for you.  If you would like a J-F 2022 Sale-A-Bration or J-J 2022 Mini Catalog and do not have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator please contact me and i will get them sent to you.

ICS Blog Hop...Awesome Otters

ICS header

Welcome to the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop!  This month the theme is time to  Sale-A-Brate!  We are sharing projects using Sale-A-Bration products.  I chose to use those adorable Awesome Otters.

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk_DSP-pocket

I paired the Awesome Otters with the Sweet Talk DSP.   Love that I can show both sides of the DSP on the pocket.  The pocket is secured together with the Real Red 3/8" Faux Linen Ribbon.

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk-pocketside

The cute otter was stamped on Basic White CS .  Both the Basic White circle and  Real Red scalloped circle were cut using the Layering Circles dies.  The otter was colored in using Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.  The little hearts the otter is carrying it was cut using the Give It A Whirl dies from the Sweet Talk DSP. The sentiment is from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk_DSP-pocketopen

Another fun little otter stamped on the insert for the pocket.

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk_DSP-panel

Since I had all the supplies out I decided to make another card.  This is a simple 3 panel DSP card.  The panels measure 1-1/4" x 5-1/4".  Quick and easy card that shows off more designs of the DSP.  I made a third card using the same supplies and will post it tomorrow.

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk_DSP-panelside

The otter is now holding a heart instead of a fish.  The heart was cut from the DSP using the Give It A Whirl dies.  I thought about masking the fish or cutting it away but decided covering it with the heart was so much easier and quicker too!

Awesome_Otters-Sweet_Talk_DSP-panelopen

I like to decorate the inside of my cards.  Here I simply added a strip of DSP (another cute design) and a heart.

Now it is time for you to see what the creative Joni Metras has made for you!

Stamping Inkspiration Blog Hop...Love is in the Air

StampingInkspiration hop

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop!  This month our theme is Love is in the Air.  There are a lot of stops on the hop...37!  Wow, that is a lot of inkspiration.  So let's get started.

LotsofHearts-StampingInk

You know i love a  striped background and if you didn't, you do now. To create the stripes I started with Basic Black CS and added the 1" white strips on top of it in 1/4" intervals.  All the hearts were cut using the Many Hearts Dies.  I love the layering of the hearts.  The sparkly white floral overlay is my fave and is so pretty.    I used a retired SU! Glimmer Paper to add a little sparkle to the card.   The Poppy Parade centers are the Opal Rounds colored using the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends.  The white with the narrow black stripes remind of a t-shirt I used to have.  I would love to have a T-shirt with this heart over the pocket.  Wouldn't that be cute?

LotsofHearts-StampingInk-side

The sentiment is from the Lots of Hearts set.  The sentiments in this set are very versatile and can be used all year.  Inside i added another Poppy Parade strip cut using the  XOXO die from the Many Hearts dies.   I backed it with a strip of black CS.

Now it is time for you to see what the talented Danielle Kassing has created for you!

New at SU!...Lots of Heart

NewatSUbanner

Welcome to the New at SU! first blog hop of the new year.  This month we are hopping and sharing ideas around the theme Love & Hearts.  Grab something to drink and hop along with us!

LotsofHearts-NewatSU-card

I love the versatility of the Lots of Hearts bundle.  Great dies that go beyond hearts and I couldn't resist the checked heart and the heartfelt sentiments are going to be so useful.   Today's project was the perfect time to try the pretty floral overlay die.  I thought about trying it in vellum but decided I needed to try the new Pearlescent Paper.

LotsofHearts-NewatSU-cardheart

This photo doesn't do it justice but I hope you can see some of the sheen of the Pearlescent Paper.  When I opened the paper I was surprised that it was a lightweight paper similar to DSP, maybe even a little lighter.  This makes it super easy to die cut and doesn't add much bulk.  I am looking forward to experimenting with this paper so stay tuned for that.  The flower centers are the Opal Rounds.  You can see the "fire" in these rounds and they look great with the Pearlescent Paper.

LotsofHearts-NewatSU-side

The Very Vanilla layer was embossed using the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder.  You have probably guessed it is one of my go-to embossing folders.

I am so happy that twine is back!  The Blushing Bride twine is from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack.  I really like solid colored twine and am hoping that we will see the return of black twine...please.

You can see that I couldn't resist adding the connected hearts from the Many Hearts dies to the inside of the card.  I layered it on to a black cardstock strip and I love how this looks!

Now it is time to see what the talented Rochelle Smith has made for you.

More From My Heart Specialty DSP

It has been a week full of hearts and flowers!  Finishing up the week with one more card using the From My Heart Specialty DSP.

ASID-BeMineframe

Just like my card on Monday, it is just dies and no stamping.   Let's break down the card.

  • Real Red card base 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2"
  • From My Heart Specialty DSP 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Flirty Flamingo CS cut using the Stitched So Sweetly die-the largest rectangle.  Cut out a frame using the Stitched Rectangle dies.  Layer this on to the From My Heart DSP using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Whisper White CS cut using the same Stitched Rectangle die used in the prior step.  Insert and adhere it inside of the Flirty Flamingo frame.
  • Real Red "love" cut using the Well Written dies adhered to the Whisper White CS
  • Real Red CS cut the long hearts die from the Stitched Be Mine dies.  Set aside the solid hearts.
  • This is the kind of "fiddly" step.  Attach the heart outline to the frame & inside of the frame using mini dimensionals.  Place the dimensionals behind the cutouts you will fill in with the solid hearts.  Place the hearts inside of the heart outlines, covering up the dimensionals.
  • Cut out Whisper White flowers using the Lovely Flowers dies.
  • Cut out Old Olive leaves using the small leaves die in the Cherry Blossom dies
  • Glue the leaves to the backs of the flower and then secure the flowers to frame using mini dimensionals.  I also used a few flowers to help secure the heart outline to the frame.
  • Place Red Rhinestones in the center of the flowers.
  • Whisper White CS 4" x 5-1/4" adhered to the inside of the card.
  • 1/2" x 4" strip of DSP to the Whisper White CS inside of the card.  Attach a couple of hearts to the strip.

ASID-BeMineframe-side

Yes, it does get a little fussy attaching the hearts and I probably won't make a ton of these but I sure love how it turned out.  If I come up with a better way to attach the hearts I will let you know.
